Starring Trisha VanReardon
Featuring Dani Chow
The scene opened as Trisha VanReardon walked out on stage and prepared for another episode of ‘The Hot Seat.’ “HELLO EVERYONE!!! Welcome to yet another edition of The Hot Seat!” The crowd roared as she smiled and drank in the cheers.
“Rising Stars was a HUGE event for LAW! It saw the crowning of new champions, break up of old alliances, and the forging of new ones. The next LAW broadcast was an eventful one…but the news of the night didn’t concern one of its champions…it actually concerned a star that is featured on this very network…it concerned the public arrest and firing of Kenzi Grey for running down her own mother!” The crowd gasped as images of Kenzi being arrested and escorted out of the arena by police was shown on the screen. “Since her arrest last Sunday Night, Kenzi has been very vocal about her supposed innocence. Now, I couldn’t get another one on one interview with Kenzi, but I was able to get her attorney, Dani Chow! So, please welcome her!”

Dani Chow walked out in a very tight fitting business suit, her hair pulled back tightly, drawing her eyes back. She walked over to Trisha and the host stuck out her hand to shake, but Dani merely bowed to her. Trisha frowned, then quickly returned the bow, only to find that Dani hand her hand sticking out to shake hers. Trisha reached for Dani’s hand, but the woman bowed instead. Trisha threw up her hands and pointed to the Hot Seat as she took up her own seat.
Dani looked at the ominous looking black chair and then turned to Trisha, speaking in her oddly clipped broken English. “Pardon…this is boom boom chair?”
Trisha frowned, not catching her meaning. “Excuse me? I don’t know what that is.”
Dani elaborated, “Boom boom! You know!” She rocked her hips back and forth, making a sexual thrusting motion. “You know…ding dong chair!”
Trisha blushed, “NO!! Absolutely not!!”
Dani looks a little sad as she looks back down at the chair, reaching down and rubbing the seat. “Too bad…probably make interview more exciting, eh?” Dani sat down in the seat, wiggling her butt as she tried to get comfortable.
Trisha could already see that this woman was going to be a problem. Her offensive Asian impression aside…she was trying to make a mockery of her and her show. Trisha was not going to stand for it. “Okay…Ms. Chow…let’s start with getting this out of the way. Don’t you think its offensive for a white woman to masquerade as an Asian woman, doing a horrible racist impression?”
Dani stared at Trisha…narrowing her eyes further. “Yes…I find very offensive! Should not be tolerated!” She smirked, “Kinda like white NAACP woman…how she work for racist organization so long?!”
Trisha stared at her, blinking. “You can’t be serious?”
Dani blinked, “That really you second question?”
Trisha shook her head, not wanting to waste anymore of her questions without getting to the issue. “NO! No it isn’t!” Trisha looked exasperated. “Okay! Let’s move on! Last Sunday, your client, Kenzi Grey was arrested at a live LAW event and she was charged with the hit and run attack on her own mother. According to Jenny Tuck, Kenzi all but admitted to doing the deed. In light of that confession…what are the chances that Kenzi avoids jail time?”
Dani smirks, “My client never make any confession…she innocent! I thought America is land where innocent until police frame you for crime?” The fans booed as Dani disparaged the police. Dani waived them off, “HEY! Minorities not going to lock themselves up, eh?!” The fans kept booing, but Dani ignored them. “My client unfairly arrested and embarrassed because of lies by Jenny Tuck! Once we prove this…Jenny Tuck will be next to defend herself in court!”

Trisha arched her brow as she accessed Dani critically, “Proof? You said that once you PROVE Kenzi is innocent…sooooo…is there proof that she didn’t do it?”
Dani eyed Trisha, arching her brow in the same way that Trisha had done. “I no need to prove she innocent…like I say…innocent until the police fr…”
Trisha held up her hand, “We heard you say that already!” She gave an exasperated sigh, “You said you would prove she was innocent and I want to know if you have the proof!”
Dani gave a sigh, “I will say this…there is proof…but that all I can say.”
Trisha glared at Dani, none too happy with the woman or her utter lack of detail in her answers. “Look Ms. Chow! I asked you here so that we could get answers to our questions about what happened with Sidney Grey and Kenzi’s involvement! It is obvious to us all that only one person has prospered from all of this…and that is YOUR client! Say what you want about Jenny Tuck and the arrest, but your client looks guilty as sin right now! You say you have proof…but you can’t present it…what exactly can you talk about that will turn suspicion away from Kenzi?”
Dani sat quietly for a moment, then chuckled, “You already make up you mind…just like most of LAW. Did my client prosper when her mother put out of action? Yes…she did…but Kenzi Grey make opportunity for herself…she no need Sidney to make movie…to earn endorsement…to win matches!”
Trisha raised her hand, “She’s won no matches in LAW…zero singles matches! She needs something…because she doesn’t have her mother’s in ring skill, that is for sure!”
Dani wagged her finger at Trisha, “See…now you sound like Jenny Tuck! You only concern with negativity…my client is all about positivity! She role model to little children all over world! This arrest smear campaign…nothing more! Kenzi’s name will be clear, and then LAW and Jenny Tuck will be ones to apologize to my client!” Dani made a tent with her hands as she smiled broadly, “I believe you have two more questions, please.”

Trisha was irritated by the woman’s arrogance in telling her how many questions she had left, and she nearly jumped out of her seat. “What in the hell makes you think that you can come on MY show with your blatantly racist and fake Chinese accent and then dictate to me how I run my damn show?”
Dani continued to smile at Trisha, “You call me and fake…yet you expect the world to think that those enormous perfectly round tits are not?” Trisha’s mouth fell open and she started to speak, but Dani cut her off. “I do not care if you have issue with my heritage…but don’t not presume that you know anything about me, personally. I here today for my client…that all that matter.” She continued grinning, “I think that leave you one final question, eh?”
Trisha wanted to scream, but she held her anger in check as best she could. “Ms. Chow, how is Kenzi paying her legal fees? I mean…we know that she has a career outside of LAW, but most of that has been taken away or held in abeyance pending the outcome of any trial she is forced to face.” Trisha raised her eyebrow, “Frankly, you don’t look like the type to work pro-bono.”
Dani continued to smile, “My pay not at issue here. I contracted to work for my client…by my employer, that end of story.” She held up a finger, “But one point before we end show, eh! You bring up my client finances…so please allow me to address. The actions of LAW and Jenny Tuck in particular have cost my client millions in endorsements…and likely millions in mental anguish! I want this on record…when my client cleared…I will seek to make Ms. Grey whole again. LAW and Jenny Tuck will find out how it feels to be humiliated in the court of public opinion and to have their financial future threatened!”
Trisha could appreciate the woman’s ambitious proclamation, but it seemed like blind bravado to her. Kenzi was guilty as hell and now she was going to have to pay the piper for her actions. Trisha stood up, “Well…that does it for our show. I’d like to thank our guest, Ms. Dani Chow for joining us. Good luck with your defense…it looks like you’re going to need it.”
Trisha turned to the fans, “That is going to do it for this episode of The Hot Seat. Please join as again next time, right here on CTN where I ask the tough questions and you get the answers!” She waived as the show ended and the credits rolled.
