Following LAW 53, I was feeling as good as I had ever felt. As I headed back to my locker room, I couldn’t help but smile. Just as I had asked, it was decorated for a massive celebration…a Kentourage Celebration. I looked around the room and grinned as the room was packed full of other LAW stars and staffers, all milling around and enjoying the catered spread of food and drinks in the festive party atmosphere.
I adjusted my constant companion, the LAW Chaos Title over my shoulder and walked in. Though I was battered and bruised from my war with the Pink Ladies, I was more than ready to enjoy the spoils of that very same war. As I looked around the room at everyone there, I was surprised at some of the faces I saw, but in truth there was only one that I was hoping to see above all the others. When I didn’t see her yet, I set about the business of mingling until she showed up.
Duke King grabbed a huge plate that was stacked high with food and deserts, but in his greed, the plate slipped from his hand and hit the floor making a huge mess. The party seemed to stop as everyone grew quiet, all eyes on Duke. I stepped up, patting him on the back, then I turned to everyone, “Don’t worry about making a mess…I have a special guest maid who’s gonna clean this whole place from top to bottom, so don’t sweat it! Make all the mess you want!” To make the point, I grabbed a drink, took a few sips and poured it on the floor…just so Kate Steele would have plenty to do tonight.
A massive cheer went up from the crowd and I moved off through them and found a secluded portion of the room for myself as I leaned against the wall and my jovial mood darkened a bit. Emotion over giving up Dog earlier in the night washed over me and I put my head down, not wanting anyone to see the tears that still lingered there. I had endured joke after joke about my neglect of Dog, but when it was all said and done, he was still my dog and I loved him. He was the first thing to ever really give me the love and attention I craved…at least until now…
