The scene opens backstage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena hours before LAW’s Queen of the Ring 2017 Pay-Per-View event is set to broadcast live and standing by with a microphone in hand and a smile on his face is one of LAW’s backstage interviewers, Colin Reed.
Colin Reed: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to this LAW Exclusive live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena here in Las Vegas, Nevada! I’m Colin Reed and we are just hours away from the Queen of the Ring Pay-Per-View event and it is electric here tonight! The card is stacked with what will truly be some amazing matches including Amy Jo Smyth defending the LAW Championship against Mackenzie Roberts, The Boardwalk Angels defending their Tag Team Championships in a Boardwalk Brawl match against The Dynasty along with plenty of other blockbuster matches and of course, we’ll also witness the Queen of the Ring tournament itself where eight women will compete for the right to call themselves Queen of the Ring 2017 and also receive a shot at the LAW Championship later down the road!
He pauses for a few moments.
Colin Reed: And speaking of the Queen of the Ring tournament, I am being joined now by one of those eight women who will be competing in it tonight, and she has a big announcement for the LAW fans so please welcome my guest at this time, “Unbreakable” Stacy Jones!
The camera pans out a little to reveal Stacy Jones standing beside Reed with a smile on her face.
Colin Reed: Thank you for taking the time to speak with me, Stacy, I know you’ve got a lot of preparation to do ahead of the show tonight, but you said you had some big news to share with the LAW fans?
Jones nods, smiling.
Stacy Jones: That’s right, Colin. When I first signed up for the Queen of the Ring tournament, it was only on a temporary deal due to commitments elsewhere. However, things change and due to unforeseen circumstances, my schedule has opened up a little more and so after having a meeting earlier today with Mr Dupree and Ms Helms-King, I am proud to announce that once tonight is over, regardless of the outcome of the Queen of the Ring tournament, I will have officially signed a full-time deal with Ladies All-Star Wrestling.
Reed nods.
Colin Reed: That certainly is huge news, and I’m sure the LAW fans will love to know that they will be seeing a lot more of you. Everyone here knows how hard you’ve been working towards winning the tournament tonight and how much it means to you to win it, so say you don’t win it, what can the LAW fans expect to see from you in the future?
Stacy Jones: Well, Colin…if I do not win tonight…all I can say is that I will continue working hard to earn any future opportunities that I get here. I’ve always worked for my achievements, no matter what I may have done in other companies, I don’t expect to be handed anything because of that so I’ll happily start at the bottom of the mountain and work my way up.
Smiling, the interviewer cocks his head to the side a little.
Colin Reed: Okay and if you do win the tournament, out of Amy Jo Smyth and Mackenzie Roberts, do you have a preferred opponent out of those two who you’d want to challenge for the title?
Stacy Jones: It honestly doesn’t matter to me who the champion is, Colin…my entire career, I have thrived on facing new challenges. I’ve never faced Amy or Mackenzie, so it doesn’t matter who is the champion because I will fight like I have never fought before and I hope that when that final bell has rung, that I will have finally realised my dream of becoming a World Champion.
Colin Reed: Well, Stacy…thank you for your time and I wish you the best of luck tonight.
Jones nods before disappearing off camera as Reed turns back to it.
Colin Reed: Well there you have it ladies and gentlemen; Stacy Jones has officially signed a full-time contract with LAW. Make sure you don’t miss Queen of the Ring 2017, coming to you live in just over three hours time right here at the MGM Grand Garden Arena!
And with that, the scene fades to black.
