Somewhere on a desert highway, she rides a Harley Davidson.
Her long blonde hair is flying in the wind.
She’s been running half her life, the chrome and steel she rides
Colliding with the very air she breathes, the air she breathes.
As the Neil Young fades out, Kayla Winters appears on the screen, as her chopper pulls into the driveway of a suburban bungalow, Kayla places her helmet and gloves in the side saddle bags, then walks to the door, she takes a long deep breath and knocks on the door, the door slowly opens, and is quickly slammed in her face.
You got some nerve, Kayla.
Open the door, Katie.
I’ve got nothing to say to you.
Just hear me out then.
The door opens again and Kayla enters.
Say whatever you came here to say then leave.
I guess apologizing won’t do anything.
Probably not.
Okay, first off I never wanted to have an affair with Kyle, but it just happened.
Yeah, Kyle explained that, but you both could have stopped it if you really wanted too.
Yes, and it seems like I've lost my best friend.
Well, you did sleep with my husband.
And I can’t take that back, but hopefully, I can try and save our friendship.
You want to save our friendship, our friendship ended the moment, I found you and Kyle in bed together.
Then I guess my trip here was for nothing.
I never thought my best friend, the friend I’ve known since childhood, the friend that was the matron of honor at my wedding, would betray me like this.
I really don’t know what else to say.
That’s probably the best thing right now, so if you're finished, you know where the door is.
Knowing that there really nothing she could say, Kayla walked towards the door a tear began to run from her eye as she exited, and was back on the road. After what seemed it hours she arrived back in Malibu and entered her house, she sat on the couch and answered the phone.
How did it go, how do you think it went, I’ve lost the best friend I’ve ever had and it’s totally my fault.
Kayla lays out on the couch.
We’ll talk about this later, right now I want to lay down and sleep for three days.
As she sat in her office, the emotional roller-coaster that has been her life recently Kayla flipped through reports and requests for donations, and while she wasn’t in the mood to be there, Family business took president over one’s personal life. A guy comes into her office and Kayla hands him the reports and orders him out of her office, the guy quickly leaves and Christy and Britney enter.
How are you feeling, sis?
How the hell do you think I’m feeling, what a dumb thing to ask.
Sorry.
It’s okay, none of this is your fault.
A prolonged silence occurs.
A guy in a suit is walking through the halls of Winter’s Media he turns the corner and see’s Kyle standing outside his office, the guy walks over to Kyle.
Kyle Price.
Yeah, I’m Kyle.
You’ve been served.
The guy then turns and walks down the hall, Kyle opens the envelope and reads the document, then walks down the hall and enter the elevator, he exited and make his way down a long hallway arriving at the office of Winter’s Media attorney Kylee Reese, he knocks then enters, Kylee a pretty redhead, is working on her computer she stops after observing Kyle entering her office.
What brings you here Kyle?
I know this isn’t your particular area of expertise, but I’d like you to look at it and maybe refer me to someone.
Kylee reads the document, then closes it and places it on her desk.
Actually, I’ve handled a few cases like this, I look into it and get back to you.
Okay.
Kyle then leaves the office, and Kylee picks up her phone.
The silence in Kayla office is broken by the ringing of her desk phone.
Hello, Winter’s Foundation how may I help you today. Kylee this had better be important.
Kayla listens to the other end of the conversation, after a few minutes she hangs up and stands up from her desk.
Kylee had brought something to my attention and I have to go take care of it talk to you both later
Do you need me to come with you?
Nah, I can handle it.
Okay.
Kayla walks off and later walks into Kylee’s office. Kylee shows Kayla the document.
Is this for real?
Yeah, It's real.
Son Of A Bitch.
Kayla storms out of the office and dials her phone.
Katie, don’t hang up, what I have to tell you effects us both.
Kayla powerwalks towards the elevator.
I’ll be there in a few.
Kayla enters the elevator.
Kayla is sitting on her bike somewhere between Torrance and Malibu.
To say life has been a little hectic lately would be an understatement, but no one who isn’t named Kayla Winters would truly understand who I am. One thing I know is that I’ve added more money to my bank account just sitting here these last few minutes than the entire roster of LAW makes in a year, and I know they don’t care about that, and I know that jealously runs through the entire roster, Jealously and envy, they don’t want to admit it, but they all wish they were me, I don’t wait in lines I am the line, when I happen to lower my standards and fly with the lesser folks I don’t ask for a first class ticket, they give me first class. Another thing I know is that walking into LAW 73 and the Battle Royal I’m the underdog, I’m not expected to win, and I bet the viewing audience all have their favorites and so does the locker room, and no one is picking me, and I’m okay with that, it will make it every bit as more satisfying when I win the battle royal and earn my shot at the Marquee Title, so at LAW 73 get ready for a true underdog story to come true.
Kayla starts her bike and revs it up.
See you in Philly, loser.
Kayla rides off and the screen fades to black.
