Well, after HYBRID’s final Pay-Per-View of the year, Proving Grounds, my 2017 is about to end with more downs than ups. The ups are in regards to my wrestling career and I’m flying high as I managed to successfully retain my HYBRID Evolution Championship at said Pay-Per-View over a very game and tough opponent in Maki, and I’m also the number one contender for the Marquee Championship over in LAW after I defeated Samantha Tolson, Etsuko Mitsuzaka, Roxy Cotton, Kayla Winters, Nova Sinclair, Maria Spencer and Milisandre Crowthorne in a Battle Royal.
The downs came in the form of having to witness two dear friends of mine in Linnéa Lacroix and Dean Matthews be taken to hospital and also Maki’s alter ego, Daniela took over and joined Michael Rivers and the Children of Nephilim and Danika Bayne revealed that she had been with Michael the entire time throughout her apparent relationship and marriage to Dean.
However, those situations, I’m going to deal with later because I’m not going to let my Christmas morning with Jennifer be ruined. It’s just the two of us as the kids are spending their Christmas morning with their Dad and Veronica.
The two of us are sitting on the couch next to each other at our home in Orlando, taking turns opening our gifts from one another and some of our friends. It’s just a relaxing morning as we enjoy our mugs of eggnog while Christmas music is playing on the CD player on a low setting.
Much like I’ve done with her, Jen has well and truly spoiled me with her gifts which include tickets to see my favorite band ever, Nightwish. A Batman cooking apron with Batman oven gloves. A beautiful framed photo of me when I was young with my Dad, with the words ‘Remember who you are.’ engraved on the bottom of the frame, just to name a few things.
“Thank you so much for all of these wonderful gifts, honey.”
“Thank you as well for mine. Merry Christmas, my beautiful raven.”
“Merry Christmas, my sweet chinchilla.”
We lean towards each other and share a long passionate kiss with one another before breaking away and smiling whilst staring deep into one another’s eyes.
“Hey baby? Remember our song? The one we danced too after we’d had our not so blind date with each other?”
“Of course. Slow, Love, Slow by Nightwish.”
She nods.
“Mhm. Can you do me a favor and put it on so we can listen to it, please?”
“Sure.”
Standing to my feet, I walk over to the CD player and stop the current CD playing before lifting the lid. Removing the CD, I then look through our collection until I find Nightwish’s Imaginaerum album, opening up the case, I put the CD into the player and hit play before immediately skipping to track four which is Slow, Love, Slow.
“Thank you…”
Turning back around, I go to retort but I am immediately taken aback by the sight before me, my hands immediately cover my mouth and tears begin to form in the corner of my eyes as I gasp. Jen is down on one knee in front of me, with a big beautiful smile on her face and in her hand in a small black box is a sparkling silver diamond encrusted ring.
“Stacy Marie Jones? Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?”
I’m lost for words, I’m well and truly speechless. It feels like my heart is in my throat as whenever I try and speak, nothing comes out. Tears now streaming down my face, I nod before lunging at my beautiful blonde bombshell, embracing her with a tight hug.
“I take it that’s a yes, then?”
Breaking away from her, I wipe the tears away and take a few deep breaths before nodding again.
“Yes, Jen. Yes. A million times yes!”
She removes the ring from the box and takes my left hand before placing the ring onto my ring finger. I hold it up and stare at it, my heart pounding as the realisation sets in that what I had wanted for so many months now was finally a reality.
“I love you, Jennifer Renee Lawson.”
“And I love you too...future Stacy Marie Lawson.”
And with that, the two of us share another long passionate kiss with one another.
Stacy Marie Lawson? I like the sound of that. It has a wonderful ring to it. Hearing that, I think I’m definitely going to take her surname, but as tribute to my Dad, I think I’ll keep Jones as my in-ring name.
This has well and truly been the best Christmas ever!
