I’m not sure what I am getting myself into. It all started a week ago when I agreed to help my friend Song or as she goes by SoLo. I think it was because I felt bad for her since she was associated with that train wreck known as Sidney Grey, I took the gig to train her to get ready for her matches. Despite Syn telling me to not do it I decided to bite the bullet and jump right into the “TWATs” of Sidney.
I think that’s when it started to fall apart really. The first day on the job and all I got was lip from that old fossil. Here I am trying to make sure she doesn’t embarrass herself in the ring like she does everywhere else. (I had to catch up on Netflix to see who this Sidney Grey was. I don’t even see how she got a TV deal out of the she does but that’s for later.) But like I said for a friend, I was willing to power through it.
The sad thing is that II saw she had talent once. Granted I was a little street urchin in Korea then, trying to scrounge around for a meal and to make ends meet. But since then, while I’ve cultivated my skill, she let hers fall by the way side for the plastic life of becoming a Hollywood mockery. She thinks she’s a star, but she’s more like that Honey Booboo, a sad spectacle that people can’t help but watch in fascination and horror. No wonder her ass is about to be canned.
If I was Song I would just abandoned that sinking ship and move on to something less volatile, like working in a nuclear reactor, or capturing rabid animals. She has the experience working with Sidney. But she is a grown woman and it is not my place to tell her what to do. I just wish she saw what everyone else sees when dealing with Sidney: a loud, obnoxious, entitled, wannabe Hollywood royalty with a quickly fading star. It’s just sad Song is going to have to do it without me now. With that stunt Sidney pulled by bringing my sister in. She has crossed a line. As much as I may not like Hilton that much, I hope in the end she wipes the floor with her.
Meanwhile I got this issue of a mentally unstable sister to deal with who I am sure is just waiting to stab me in the back at some point. I know she cried tears after the show and part of me wanted to believe they were real, and the words she said were real too. But all the coincidences are just too much. Sidney’s opponent ended up having to be taken to the hospital for an incident that happened back stage, then Kymiku comes out? It’s just too damn convenient. Plus I doubt Sidney has enough brain cells on her own to realize our connection so who in the hell helped her plan this? Some is not only trying to get me out of the picture but also trying to screw Song over. It’s not enough I have to watch my back now but hers also.
Like I said, what have I gotten myself into?

SoHo, New York
“I told you it was a mistake to agree to do this.”
“As I recall, I didn’t ask for your input.” Nyako said to her guet as she got the couch ready for her sister to sleep on until she got herself settled in and moved on, or hatch what ever plan she was scheming.
The sultry brunette pursed her crimson lips as she feigned being wounded by the remark. “Do not take it out on me Ny. You were doing well as a personal trainer for New York’s young, rich, and upcoming stars. But at the sound of someone needing your help you gave it up for the has been Sidney Grey.” A small, knowing smirked crossed her face as she watched Ny try to straighten up what minimalistic belongings she had in her Flat.
“I got tired of listening to those entitled pricks. You know if I had gotten called Chun-Li one more time…”
“So instead you trade that in for a fossil that treats you the same way for less pay and prestige? If you were that unhappy with your job I could have put in a good word with Eva, she is always looking for new trainers at her school.”
“It was not just about that. I had a promise I had to keep to Song. Some of us still believe in honor.”
The women snickered at the comment. “I believe in honor too Ny, as long as it serves me best in the long run. There is not enough honor to be used and abused like Grey did to you. Need I mention the stunt with your sister?”
Nyako stopped what she was doing and her shoulder slumped as the fight seemed to be draining out of her. A sigh escaped her lips. “I still want to know what Kymiku is doing here. I mean she dropped out of my life after 3WL, never answering my questions, then bam, now she’s back. Trying to be the sister I never had?”
“Well seeing as that you now quit the only job you had.” Nyako winced at the statement, starting to regret about making a snap decision like she did instead of letting cooler heads prevail. The women continued on, “You’ll have plenty of time to figure out what ‘Oni’iIs up to what her ulterior motives are.”
“I really need to apologize to Song. I really shouldn’t have blown up like that. It’s just that woman. She is so vapid, vain, and full of herself; she makes everyone around her insane. I honestly just thought it was an act for TV but no, she is actually more bat shit than Kymiku is, and that’s a stretch in itself.” Another sigh escaped her lips as she plopped down on her couch. “Besides, I got ot figure out who inm the hell put her up to this. No way she has enough brain cells left in her pickled head to come up with this plan herself.”
The women seated in the chair facing the couch crossed her, silken, bronzed legs and she leaned on the arm in mock thoughtfulness. “My money is on Raheem. It seems like his style to try to muck things up like this. Plus word around CTN Towers is that he and Domino want Sidney out of her contract to sign some hot new talent.”
“Of course it’s probably his punkass.” Ny rolled her eyes as a sneer closed her face. “I still don’t kknow how he’s still employed. Everyone he ends up with seems to crash and burn, or end up on the bad end of things. Silver for instance.”
“Did you happen to catch her on his wrap up show after the event?” The woman asked with the mention of Nicky Silvers name.
“No but I heard about it. That girl got balls to show up on there with his ass, that and not much in brain either. He never gave her respect when he worked with her, why would she put up with him now?”
“Same reason that you do the things you do; a sense of honor.” Again the smirk crossed the woman’s face. “You both have this misguided notion of honoring all commitments no matter what they may do to out in the end. Speaking of which though I must see if I can get Eva to do the show.”
“Always thinking of an angle aren’t you? Why would the Puerto Rican Princess agree to do it.”
“Exposure for her school, I’m always looking out for my clients.”
“What about me?”
“What about you. Didn’t we talk about this earlier this evening? In fact didn’t you just bite my head off when I tried to give you advice or at least remind you of the advice I imparted to you last week.”
Before Nyako could respond, her cell phone started to ring. Figuring it might be SoLo Nyako cut the woman off to answer it. “Song look I’m…” She stopped talking as the voice on the other end was not the voice of SoLo. She took the phone away from her ear and looked at the number on the display. Not recognizing it she went back to the call to make sure the person had the right number.
“This is Nyako, Nyako Sinsuzuki correct?” The voice at the other end asked.
“Yes, but who is this?”
“This is the scheduling for LAW. We are calling to inform you that you have a debut match on July27th against ‘The Doc’.”
“Wait, I think you got, me mixed up. I am not a wrestler. I’m just a trainer. You sure you don’t have me mixed up with someone else?”
“We have your contract on file. It was delivered to us just yesterday. If there is a problem we can get you in touch with legal, but that may take a few weeks.”
“But I haven’t signed any contract. I have no idea what you are talking about.”
“I’m sorry but my hands are tied. I’m just the scheduling coordinator. I can put you thorugh to someone in management if there is a problem Ms. Suzuki…”
“It’s Shinsuzuki?! I’m not a fucking car!” Nyako started to get agitated wit the person on the other end of the line as her guest looked on perplexed by what was going on.
“If you would just hold on the line I will patch you through to HR.”
“Listen to me, I do not wrest…” before she could finish her though the LAW theme music played on the phone. Nyako shot a glare at her guest. “They put me on fucking hold!!!”
“What is going on Nyako?” The woman asked with concern in her voice.
“The fucking fed has me listed as a wrestler!!! They have me scheduled for a match next week. Did you do this?!” Her voice started to get louder and scarier as her anger rose.
The women put her hands up to defend herself and beg off. “I may have done things like that in the past but those days are long behind me. As I said I work in the best interest of my clients, and that is with them knowing what I have planned beforehand Ny.” She quickly thought of who she could possibly blame for this before Nyako ripped into her. “Maybe it was Oni. You just mentioned a little while ago you felt she had something planned for you. Maybe this is it.” She deftly deflected the rage from her onto another outlet.
As Nyako tried to process what her guest just said someone rang her flat. “If this is Kymiku, I’m going to kill her.” She motioned for her guest to find out who it was while she started to pace her place with everything swimming around in her head, still on hold on the phone.
Her thoughts raced she thought she heard her guest tell the person to come up. She looked at her guest wanting her to tell her who it was.
“It’s not Oni, it’s a messenger from CTN with some documents for you.” The women said as she waited by the door for the deliver to come up.
A few moments later she was thanking the young man and taking the envelope from him. She turned to Nyako who gave her a look of ‘well what does it say?’. The women opened the large yellow envelope and pulled out the pink document. Her eyes widened as she realized what it was,
“You’re not going to believe this Nyako, but it looks like you won’t get a chance to apologize to your ‘good friend’ SoLo.”
“What in the hell do you mean?”
The women just shook her head as she gave Nyako the gist of the document. “A of July 15, 2014 you have been terminated as the trainer of Sidney Grey for conduct unbecoming of an employee and insubordination, Signed Song Xu Lo.”
Nyako snatched the paper from the woman and read it herself. She closed her eyes and shook her head before reading it again. As the realization of what was happening started to sink in her phone fell to the ground out of her hand as a loud roar came from deep inside of Nyako.
A voice could be heard on the phone as it hit the ground. The women quickly ran over to pick up the phone as Nyako took that moment to slam out of her place.
“Is this Niko Shin…Shinsu…” The person on the phone asked.
“This isn’t a good time right now. May I get your name and number when she comes back?” The women said as she grabbed a pen and the envelope to copy the information down.
After the women hung up the phone, she knew this was only the beginning of this nightmare and had a feeling it would not get better anytime soon.
