What You Didn’t See at RISING STARS
Tonight saw the return of the woman voted as future champion in LAW. The woman who hasn’t been seen in LAW for just about three months, and as was seen tonight, returned with a whole new attitude. This woman is Nova Sinclair- the once bubbly and likable red-haired beauty.
After making her intentions on winning the Breakout Championship known, as well as insulting several, if not all of the current roster, Nova quickly turned and decided to leave Nashville. Her new personal interviewer, Willow, was less than thrilled, but it seemed as though the young woman was only around to follow Nova’s orders, so that is exactly what she did.
The two women are currently walking directly towards the exit leading out to the parking lot. Nova walks confidently and with an arrogant grin on her face while Willow walks just behind her. Nova shoves the exit door open, bursting out into the parking lot, where the two women spot their large black SUV waiting for them. Not only that, but three unfamiliar faces with their eyes locked on Nova as they glance around the parking lot. A dangerous looking blonde woman quickly heads over towards Nova. Just as she does, a woman’s voice from Nova’s left causes the woman to stop dead in her tracks.
“Nova! Wait up.”
Everyone turns and looks at who the voice belongs to. The blonde woman takes on step in front of Nova, guarding her as she clinches her fists at her side. The two men remain standing by the SUV and Willow takes a few steps back. Nova, however, just laughs.
“Reagan, dear. It’s alright. This one isn’t a threat.” Nova chuckles as Jocelyn, her mother’s lover, walks up to her. The blonde woman, now identified as Reagan, cracks her neck and steps to the side, but she keeps stays close, ready to defend Nova, should the need arise.
“What’s with the leather loving lackey?” Jocelyn says, snickering as she glances at Reagan. Reagan’s gaze on Jocelyn intensifies and her nostrils flare, but she doesn’t say a word in response.
“She gets paid a fairly large salary to protect me, Jocelyn. She takes her job very seriously, which is why Declan and I chose her. I’d be very careful about insulting her, because I have no problem letting her demonstrate her capabilities.” Nova responds with a grin. Reagan blinks slowly and Jocelyn just shakes her head.
“That won’t be necessary, Nova. It was only a joke.” She replies.
Nova rolls her eyes. “Right. Anyway, what are you doing here, Jocelyn? Nashville isn’t exactly close to Boston. Is my mother with you?” Nova looks around, expecting her mother to surprise her, but to her disappointment, she is nowhere to be found. She turns her attention back to Jocelyn, waiting for an answer.
“No, she’s not.” Jocelyn shakes her head. Nova snickers, and before she can say a word back, Jocelyn continues. “She told me you were returning tonight and I wanted to come here and surprise you.”
Nova laughs and rolls her eyes. “You wanted to surprise me? Why? Jocelyn, we’re not best friends anymore. There’s no reason to surprise me for anything. Trust me when I say it won’t help change how I feel about you screwing my mother. So, I’d quit trying to kiss my ass because it’s not working.”
Nova runs her hand through her long brightly colored pink hair and just glares at Jocelyn, unimpressed and uninterested in talking to her. Jocelyn shakes her head and takes in a deep breath, disappointed with how things stand between her and Nova.
“I don’t know what’s gotten into you, Nova, but that’s not what I’m trying to do. I mean, I’d like for you to accept my relationship with Liza, but clearly you won’t. I’m not going to bend over backwards--”
“Oh, goody. Then if you’ll excuse me, I have somewhere important I need to be other than standing her wasting time talking to you.” Nova interrupts her. She tries to step past her and head to her vehicle, but Jocelyn steps in front of her and blocks her. Reagan attempts to spring into action, but Nova lifts her hand, keeping her at bay.
“H-have you heard from Preston recently?” Jocelyn asks.
Nova laughs and very slowly turns her head to look Jocelyn dead in her eyes. “In case you’ve forgotten, Preston is no longer a part of my life. So, no, I haven’t heard a word from him. Now, step aside before I let Reagan do what she’s just itching to do.” Nova leans in closer to Jocelyn’s ear. “That’s break your legs, in case you’re wondering.”
Jocelyn pays no attention to Reagan, and refuses to be intimidated. “I know things were a bit...strained...after the two of you broke up, but I’m a little worried about him. I haven’t heard from him in over a month, and apparently the landlord at his apartment building said he hasn’t heard from him either.”
“Strained?” Nova repeats, narrowing her eyes at Jocelyn. “Things weren’t just strained, Jocelyn. Preston went full on stalker and started threatening my safety. I personally don’t care if you haven’t heard from him, but I shouldn’t find it surprising that you are concerned about his whereabouts.”
“We’ve been friends for a long time, Nova. Of course I’m going to be concerned about him. And don’t think I’m defending how he handled your breakup, because I tried talking to him about that, but he wouldn’t listen.” Jocelyn replies.
Nova laughs and takes a step back. She studies Jocelyn’s face for a minute before she starts speaking again. “Did you try to seduce him?”
Jocelyn is taken back by Nova’s sudden question. “Excuse me?”
“You heard me.” Nova says, folding her arms across her chest. “Did you try to seduce him? That’s what you’ve wanted for years, right? You don’t need to deny it anymore.”
Jocelyn lets out an awkward laugh and shakes her head. “T-that’s not true. I always supported your relationship with Preston and never would have done any--”
“It doesn’t really matter, Jocelyn. Not anymore. I know the truth, and if you want to continue denying it, have at it.” Nova rolls her eyes. The two men over by the SUV clear their throats, trying to hurry her along without saying a word. She acknowledges them with a wave of her hand before turning back to Jocelyn. “But I will say this. If you do anything to hurt my mother, I will see to it that you suffer for it. And if I were you, I’d be wise for once in my life and heed my warning, because you won’t be the first person to find out what happens when you fuck with me.”
Nova gently pats Jocelyn’s cheek, hoping to sink the warning in just a little further. Jocelyn’s jaw drops open slightly and Nova finally steps past her, and heads toward the SUV with Willow quickly following behind. Reagan and the two men see to it that Nova and Willow are safely in the SUV before they take their places in the vehicle and drive off a few moments later, leaving Jocelyn watching on with a bewildered look on her face.
The time has come. Finally, after waiting for so long, I’ll get my hands on Maria Spencer, one on one. I’ll finally get my payback for her turning her back on me and screwing me over in our tag team match several months ago. And trust me when I say that in this case, payback will be a massive angry bitch.
I’m not going to sit here and waste too much time expressing how confident...how CERTAIN I am that I will beat Maria, because let’s face it. She won’t return the favor. In fact, she’ll be utterly silent, I’m sure. No, instead, I’m going to do something a little different to start so let’s get down to it, shall we?
Maria, I need to be honest with you. You and I? We’re a lot alike. Yet as much as we are alike, we’re also two very different women, but allow me to explain myself here.
You’re a so-called “Mafia Princess”. Everyone knows it, because you like to spew it out every chance you get. You’re a total cliche, and you don’t even try to hide it. You walk around threatening to make someone “sleep with the fishes” and whatever other cliche garbage saying you can think of. But you know what, Maria? All of that intimidation you try and throw out there? You’ve got no follow through, chickie.
We’re both the enemy now, Maria. You’ve been the enemy longer than I have, but let me make something very clear here. I plan to be an even bigger threat than you ever have tried to make yourself seem like. Because, honey, I’m alot more dangerous than you’ll ever be no matter how hard you try to persuade yourself, or everyone watching.
I never knew what it was like until recently. I never truly understood just how much power I possess, but I know now. I’ve always had everything I’ve ever wanted, and that’s not about to change. I’ve wanted to get my hands on you, one on one, for so long. And I’m finally getting that chance. And you, Maria? You’re just a canvas for an even bigger message I intend to send out to the entire locker room.
You can continue to make your threats about having people fed to the fishes, Maria. But me? I can make people unhappen, Maria. I’ve done it before, and if people fuck with me enough, I’ll do it again.
But in a much more important way, I’m not like you. See, I don’t want to make you unhappen, or feed you to the fishes or any of that posturing bullshit. I want you to be very safe, very happy, very ready. Because when I destroy you, you’re going to have nothing to cling to. You’ll be Baby Jessica stuck down that well, only nobody’s coming for you.
Twenty-four hours, Maria. That’s how long your career has left.
See you soon!
