Welcome to...
Hiya guys and gals!
This is Carmen Diaz, LAW's lead interviewer, despite what Peter and Colin would have you think. And in between working out and taking care of my dog, I bring you my new show called "Carmen's Corner", Where I get to recap and preview L.A.W. Events and pay-per-views.
L.A.W. #1 REVIEW
The first week of L.A.W. wrestling is in the books, and I am pleasantly surprised by the output of the Ladies of L.A.W.. They really put forth a great show, minus a few bad apples that tried to spoil the bunch. But hey, it was exciting, and interesting, and action packed.
I though the opener of Miss Michelle and Violet was easily the match of the night. These two ladies put forth a heck of an effort, and they gave us and the audience in Detroit a great showing. It was a shame someone had to lose, but in the end, Miss Michelle pulled it out, and I'm happy for her.
Lilith and Angelique Dobson are strange, exotic, and more importantly, a unit. They have each others backs, and if that continues next week, Lilith could knock off Michelle just like they did Danica Jones.
Another person to watch was Ambyr Foxx who systematically took apart Keira Fisher last Sunday. She's got ways of breaking people down and I consider her a dark horse pick to win the whole tournament. Keira has quite the background, yet Ambyr just dominated her.
Kate Steele made quick work of Viola Legglitz, and that has to be a huge advantage for her going into the next round. While everyone in the tournament had a pretty hard fought battle, Kate was super impressive in her win, we'll see how that plays out.
Moving on, Skye Sparks came out swinging against Morgan Alvertez who is one the favorites to win in my opinion, but Morgan proved she was worth the hype behind her by holding off Skye to advance. But I really expect big things from Skye in the future, and Morgan, will have a tough task in front of her moving forward.
Morgan's partner Crystal Taylor got a gift in the first round because Angelique Dobson got herself disqualified and threw away her chance of being world champion. But Rumors are abound that that was the plan all along by Lilith and Angelique. Who knows, but Crystal moved on but she'll be facing a tough opponent as well.
Now, I was really looking forward to Emily Rose and Hannibal Crush, but it never got started. I was really behind Emily and thought she'd do well, but she's gone, along with Hannibal. These two are in the battle royal, so maybe they'll make up some ground.
And that main event was a back and forth classic between Cindy Warren and Kandi Washington, and by virtue of Emily and Hannibal both being eliminated, the winner got a bye into the semi finals, and these two fought like heck to get it. But Kandi did sneak this one out and by that fact, she is sitting pretty heading into the semi finals without having to have a second round match. How much will that factor in?
It was a great show, and the unsung hero was Roxi Johnson, who managed to maintain order in L.A.W despite some trying to overstep their bounds. I'd watch myself if I was any of these ladies.
L.A.W. #2 Preview
We're headed to Evansville on Sunday, and boy, it's not going to get any less intense than it was from the first event. Kandi Washington is sitting pretty with a bye, so there are three tournament matches scheduled. Plus, 3 new faces get a chance to shine, but the battle royal has that certain charm that makes it a must see attraction.
Julliet Brooks vs. Amy Drew vs. Fiona Williams
These three will look to make their debuts a successful one coming into L.A.W. and all three will be exciting to watch. Amy Drew and Julliet Brooks are well traveled vets, and Fiona is the wife of wrestling legend Todd Williams, so you know they'll all be ready. But, only one can be a winner, and with this one up in the air, I'm going to have to take a guess here...
Prediction: Amy Drew
Tournament Match:
Morgan Alvertez vs. Kate Steele
As I said, Morgan is a heavy favorite to go all the way to the finals, so she has a lot to live up to. Kate steamrolled her way into the quarterfinals so she looks impressive and could possibly be in better condition going in. Kate may be the underdog on paper, but we don't do this on paper, we do it in the ring, and Kate and Morgan are going to deliver. I'm going with my gut on this, as I know Kate's violent background, so, you can call it an upset if you like, but I'm picking lil' miss Ultraviolence
Prediction: Kate Steele
Tournament Match
Miss Michelle vs. Lilith Maddox
Michelle rose to the occasion last week and managed to get by Violet, but now she'll have to deal with another strange competitor in Lilith Maddox. Lilith used Angelique to beat Danica Jones, and Michelle will have to be weary of that going into this match. Plus that combined with Lilith's unorthodox offense could be trouble for Michelle But it should be nothing that Michelle hasn't seen before, so she should be ready for this. If she stays on her toes she'll be okay, and that's what I predict will happen.
Prediction: Miss Michelle.
Tournament Match:
Crystal Taylor vs. Ambyr Foxx
I said it already that Ambyr is a dark horse pick, the way she was so impressive last week. She looks like she's on a mission to be a champion. Crystal is in the second round via DQ, but I'm not going to discount her skills. I've seen her in action, and she's no slouch. But, I think Ambyr could shock a lot of people this week and beat her.
Prediction: Ambyr Foxx
Main Event: 9 Woman battle Royal
Skye Sparks vs. Cindy Warren vs. Violet vs. Keira Fisher vs.Viola Legglitz vs. Hannibal Crush vs. Angelique Dobson vs. Danica Jones vs. Emily Rose
It's shocking to see so many high quality wrestlers in one ring at one time. It's a battle royal and it's already a huge attraction, but the goal of these nine women is to win and earn one of three spots to become the first ever Marquee Champion. You can bet they will pull out all stops. With this much talent and the unpredictability of a battle royal, you never know what to expect. But here's something that could come into play: Both Queens of the Ring are in this battle royal, could that play into their favor? That's a question that should be answered in the ring this week. As for a winner? My goodness it's hard to pick. I'd probably have better luck drawing a name from a hat in this situation. But one name keeps jumping out at me when I think of those involved iin this wild and crazy match: Violet. So, based on that hunch, I'm picking her.
Prediction: Violet.
Closing
