Starring Trisha VanReardon
Featuring LAW Champion Oni Kymiku
CTN Studios
May 2015
The fans clapped loudly as Trisha VanReardon walked out on stage. Trisha smiled broadly as she addressed the crowd. “Hello everyone…and welcome to ‘The Hot Seat!’ It’s been a while since our last episode, but that is only because I have been so busy working on other projects…projects that relate to tonight’s very special guest. In fact…this is not just any guest…but my very FIRST guest!”
Trisha walked over to the Hot Seat and put her hands on it. “Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time…the current LAW Champion…Oni Kymiku…”
Oni Kymiku walked out with the LAW Title over her shoulder, keeping her eyes on Trisha and ignoring the mixed reaction from the crowd. She walked over and stared at Trisha…causing the broadcaster to take a step back as she remembered their very first encounter, that ended with her being punched in the face. Oni walked around the chair, brushing her hand over the cold black surface. She paused at the front of the chair and looked back at Trisha.
“You’re going to need an extra seat here tonight…”
Oni turned to the curtain, and the fans followed her gaze…
Out came Nyako with her Marquee title slung over her shoulder and a sneer on her face as she stared daggers in Trisha's direction causing the woman to take another step back and fall back in her seat as she felt she was not in a good place at the moment.
"I felt since we were the two that actually put your little show on the map VanReardon and probably gave you the best ratings you've had to date since lets face it everyone after us besides Yin had people changing the channel. Why not give you the ratings boost you probably so sorely need." Nyako said as her sneer turned into a vicious looking grin.
Trisha could been seen feeling a bit unnerved by the surprise but tried to play it off as if it had no effect on her.

Trisha did what she could to regain her composure, gesturing for a second seat to be brought out for Nyako. She waited as the two women finally took their seats, a wry grin returning to her face.
“Well…it looks like the gang is all here! What a treat to have two of the biggest stars in LAW here on the same stage…” she paused, “…well…arguably two of the biggest. I mean…let’s be honest with one another here, it’s not like either of you have been burning up the ring in recent weeks. Since the last LAW PPV, we haven’t seen either of you doing anything that got you those golden belts you have been carrying around. I mean…don’t you think the fans deserve more than a pair of toothless paper tigers as their reigning champions?”
She looked directly at Oni, “I put that question to you first…”
Oni knuckles cracked and popped as she tightened her fists at the abrasiveness of the question. After a moment, she relaxed and focused her attention on Trisha.
“Trisha…you are absolutely correct in your assessment…of me at least. I hate the fact that I have to agree with you, but the facts are just that. Since winning this belt, I have been the worst champion in LAW history…”
Nyako started to interject, but Oni stopped her as she held up her hand.
“It’s okay Ny…you don’t have to defend me. It’s time that I put on my Big Girl Pants and owned up to this. Yes…I was injured in my match with Roberts, the woman is tough as nails and by all accounts would have been a better champion if she had gotten the win…but she didn’t and that burden is mines to bare. LAW has been accommodating of my injury…but point to any woman on that roster that hasn’t wrestled hurt at one time or another and I’ll get down on my hands and knees and kiss your feet!”
Oni looked at the LAW Title for a bit, then looked back at Trisha. “If I didn’t have the pride that I do…I would hand this belt over and leave LAW…but I’m not a coward and I am not a quitter! I have a chance to turn this thing around…win or lose…and I intend to do that! This title means that I am the best that LAW has to offer. I haven’t shown it in recent weeks…but you can bet your ass that I will show it at Validation!”
Trisha turned to Nyako and gestured for her to answer the same question…
"What can I say. That, yes you are correct. That I have been a failure as a Marquee champ? That I should do like so many feel we should do and jut give up our belts to more..." Nyako put up her hands to give air quotes, "...more deserving people?"
Nyako snorted. "Yeah I could say that but the fact of the matter is none deserves these titles more than us. I never asked for a day off from the ring and yet I was sidelined for a month along with my sister. Yes she was nursing an injury but make no mistake we were willing and able to take on anyone. The fact of the matter was no one stepped up. Sure they ran their mouths and attacked us from behind, make snide comments to us but no one came to us face to face."
Nyako's face showed a bit of disgust as she continued. " Look at Fujiko Mine, as soon as she got the opportunity to turn tale and run to what she thinks is an easier match to deal with she did it. All that crap she talked about me being a pathetic champ and not going after opponents was just crap and she knows it. You saw me talk to her the week after out match at Rising Start and told her to bring it again. Not back down, yet where is she. Now I have to deal with a second rate Red headed witch who goes through friends like Sidney Grey goes through bottles of booze. Mind you the only reason for that to is because everyone else in that match was too pathetic to even stop her. I mean I would have put my life on it that Comacho and Drew have more talent in their little toes that Steele ever had. Yet they shrunk when it was their time to shine. As for Silver well..."
Nyako just stopped and shook her head. "So I guess in answering you question. Do I think we've been toothless champions. Maybe but only because no one in LAW has the balls to step up to us like grown women. They rather be catty school girl bitches."

Trisha smirked at the sisters and their answers, obviously not buying any of it. She looked at Oni. “You’ve been milking this supposed injury for weeks Oni…and you say that you want to do something about your legacy, but let’s not mince words here…you feel threatened by Fujiko Mine, regardless of what your sister just said. The facts are clear…Mine has been the hottest thing in LAW since Evie Taylor…the same woman that NEVER lost that very title that you are walking around with…that same title that you have yet to defend. Odds are that Mine is going to take it from you in less than two weeks time.”
She chuckled, “When that happens…what will that mean for you and your career in LAW? I mean…there is nowhere to go, except down after you have been the LAW Champion…even a crappy one!”
“Before I answer that question…please allow me to say this about Ms. Mine. I give her all the credit in the world for what she has done in her short time in LAW. Up until she met my sister in the ring, she seemed unbeatable. She rebounded from that loss and has been just as good…maybe even better since then.”
Oni turned and looked at her sister, apologizing in advance for what she was about to say. She looked back at Trisha.
“I am going to disagree with one thing that my sister said about Mine and her choosing to face me instead of facing her for a second time. Every woman in this sport wants to hold this title…it signifies that you have reached the pentacle of achievement for all of us.” Oni put her hand on her sister’s shoulder, Before my sister held the Marquee Title, Gabby Camacho was the most prolific champion that LAW had ever seen. Nyako won that belt and since that time…she has been the measuring stick. Mine found that out when she challenged her and came up short. Now, Mine has a chance to make the world forget about that loss and write her own ticket to putting her stamp on LAW. I respect her decision to face me, instead of my sister. I respect her confidence…you have to have it in order to be successful in this business…but I don’t respect her bravado and I don’t respect her! Respect is earned…and she needs to take it because I have no intention of giving it to her!”
Oni narrowed her eyes as she elaborated, “A few weeks ago, Mine told the world that she knows that she can beat me and that she was the MVP of LAW. Once she defeated me…she would complete the ‘set.’ Well…I think that Ms. Mine is a fine wrestler….I think that Mine has it in her to be a great champion…but beating me is going to take a lot more than bravado and a desire to complete an imaginary ‘so-called set.’ Mine might want to call herself the MVP of LAW…but what she won’t call herself is LAW Champion! I am the LAW Champion right now and after she comes face to face with me inside the ring, she is going to find out why I am!”
Oni sneered at Trisha, “To answer your question about what happens after I lose to Mine…my answer to you is simple…I haven’t thought about it because I don’t have to think about it. I am not going to lose this belt to her. Period…point blank!”

Trisha turned to Nyako. “Your sister is delusional about her chances…I hope that you aren’t about your chances. Kate Steele was the first LAW Champion and she wants that Marquee Championship way more than you want to keep it. What are you going to do after Kate takes it from you?” She gave Ny a sneer, “Are you ready to hang it up and walk out the door?”
“A few weeks back I would have said yeah, I was more than ready to call it quits. Not because of the competition in Law because well I’ve proven for the most part none of them have a chance against me. Don’t get it twisted though, I’ll show them respect when they give it to me, but as far as I’ve seen especially as of ate I’ve gotten none of it. So yeah I was ready to walk away from LAW because it wasn’t worth my time. I even reached out to Drew and Steele giving them props for beating us surprisingly without the aide of their posse of pus…Pink Ladies. But nothing in return. But you know what that would be me admitting defeat, that these so called women here had an effect on me strong enough to give up something I care about and I’ll be damned if I let any of them run me off.”
Nyako sat back in her chair and looked over at her sister fr a brief second, to see her reaction about her thinking about walking away. She saw a small expression of something from her but couldn’t tell what it was. She continued on though with her response.
“As for Steele, I’ve said it time and time before. Only reason she was the champ was because she didn’t have good competition. As the LAW Champion and as the Tag team champion. In both her first defenses of both titles she coughed them up. Look at the LAW Championship. She lost it to a women who’s not even active I LAW anymore. So what kind of champion was she really? Hell she had numerous bites at the apple against Comacho when she was Marquee Champ. Never mind the fact she boggarded her way into the picture at a time, when I was the one who was the top contender at the time. But still she got embarrassed numerous times against her and now she thinks she’ll have a better shot at me?”
Nyako leaned forward in her chair looking dead at Trisha. “I’ve beaten Comacho twice, once to win the title and the other in the rematch for it. That means I’ve beaten the woman she couldn’t beat legitimately. What chance does she have against me? I have been the longest reigning Marquee champ to date and will continue to be so after Validation. Meanwhile Steele will still be the pathetic has been she has been since losing the World Title. Only chance she has to eat me is if she brings her posse down with her to help her, but as I see the Pink Ladies aren’t even that well-oiled anymore.”

Trisha had to admit to herself that she liked the fire that Nyako showed, but this interview wasn’t about admiration. She was in it for ratings and controversy made for the best ratings of all. She turned fully to Nyako this time.
“So, Nyako…since you’ve mentioned the Pink Ladies. They have had a few problems, but no one will deny that they are a unit at the end of the day. They have each other’s backs…but no one has your back. Ever member of USA has deserted you and Oni…your best friend, Alex Yin refuses to get her hands dirty…even when you stick your neck out for her. I mean…that has to bug you…doesn’t it?”
Before she could answer, she continued on. “What’s worse…since being here in LAW you have spent the majority of it cleaning up after your little sister…the woman that happens to hold the LAW title…at least for a few more days. Yet another distraction on top of the lopsided odds. How do you deal with all of that and still find a way to defeat Kate Steele…and the women that have her back?”
Nyako smirked, not willing to take the bait from Trisha. “Yin is her own woman she can do what she wants to do. I have no qualms with her deciding to take a more passive role in trying to win her battles. If it works for her more power to her. Oni and I on the other hand rather get our hands dirty and as long as Yin doesn’t try to chance us I won’t try to change her. I’m damn sure if she got pissed enough the kid gloves would come off but until then. As I see it she has a higher tolerance for BS most people don’t, which is rare in today’s world. She tries to see the good in everything and everyone despite how little or nonexistent it may be. That’s one reason I admire her and will always call her my friend no matter what.”
Nyako turned to her sister. “As for Oni, what issues that have followed her are not her fault for the most part.” She turned back to Trisha as she took her sisters hand giving it a small squeeze. “I know you can say well she’s the one who did this or did that, but as I’ve said time and time again, she’s done more than enough to make amends for what she has done in the past, yet it’s people like you and the so called LAW elite that don’t want to let those things go. You all keep dredging them up and throwing em in her face. I don’t run to her aide to be her knight in shining armor, I do it because I want her to know I am always in her corner no matter what.”
Nyako looked at Oni again. “She’s the main reason I didn’t leave those weeks ago. She’s one of the main reasons I’m still in LAW. I’ve abandoned her enough in my life I’m not doing it again, especially when she’s had my back as much as she’s had. You may think what we have is a 1 way street but the fact of the matter VanReardon is you don’t know us. All you know is what you see and what you think you know or make up as you go along. That is why I know when it comes to facing Steele I don’t have anything to worry about because hell I know who has my back when it comes down to it.”

Trisha nearly jumped for joy inside as she heard Nyako’s answer. This was what she was waiting for. She smirked as she rubbed her hands together.
“Nyako, you don’t know your sister half as well as you thought you did, if that is the way that you see things. You see…I have my sources and they are intimate with the history between the two of you. In fact…when Oni first arrived…you were none too pleased about it…and I know exactly why!”
Trisha looked at Oni and saw the color draining from her face. She knew that Trisha’s source was the one woman who knew everything about her and because of her hatred, she was more than ready to share it all with Oni’s enemies. Trisha stared at Nyako, “This sister of yours…who has your back has never once told you the truth about the one thing she promised you…she never bothered to tell you about what really happened to her twin…your little brother Senji.” Trisha watched Nyako, wondering what the woman’s reaction was going to be.
“All those therapy sessions she had and she couldn’t wait to tell Uzai’s sister about what had been eating her up inside for years! She couldn’t tell you the truth…but she spilled her guts Meiko…and boy o’ boy is it ever juicy!”
She turned to Oni, who was as pale as a ghost. “Do you want to do the honors or should I?”
Oni turned to Nyako with something that her sister had never seen before…fear in her eyes. She put her hand on Nyako’s shoulder. “Ny…this…I….” She spun around and jumped out her seat as she headed towards Trisha, but Security was there in a flash.
Oni turned back to Nyako, shaking her head. “Ny…please…don’t listen to this…I…”
Just like that everything came crashing down. Nyako looked to Trisha then to her sister as her heart began thudding in her chest.
"What is it you don't want her to tell me Kymiku. Tell me...if you care for me at all, you will tell me sister."
Nyako wasn't sure she wanted to know what is was but if it had to be told she rather it be done by her sister. She noticed the sick sadistic grin on VanReardon's face as she seemed to savor what was lurking in the air. She did not want to give this woman the satisfaction to do more damage to them, as she already played a big part in their troubles as a whole.
"You tell me Kymiku right now what this devil is talking about." She said as her voice came out calm but she was anything but.
