Milisandre Crowthorne dashed into her room and quietly closed the door. She spun around and leaned against it and closed her eyes. She takes a deep breath before opening her eyes and walking towards her bed. She spins around and flops down onto the bed, staring at the ceiling.
“Fuck.” She was drained. She agreed to help Kenzi plan her wedding without even thinking. The question caught her off guard and she had to get this thing done well in basically no time. Weddings were usually planned over months. She had had two weeks, tops. It was gonna take a miracle for her to not fuck this up.
That was not figuring in all the stuff that Sarah had asked her to do. It was stressing her out. She had started sneaking drinks almost as soon as they got back from Canda early this morning. She just had to last until tomorrow afternoon. Then it was drinking and partying until they had to head to Vegas for Queen of the Ring.
She wasn't worried as much about that as she was this wedding thought. And it wasn't even her wedding. But helping out made her realize that she was just going to go to the court house and do it that way when she got married. If she ever did. It wasn't something she had ever thought of actually doing. But helping Kenzi and Sarah had started to change her mind. It didn't hurt that she had someone she could actually see her self with ten years down the road.
Thinking of Bruce made her curl up into a ball in the center of her bed. He was busy with his security duties and she hadn't had a chance to just be alone with him since this morning. Not to mention that she was gonna have to somehow ask Sarah if she could stay here after the wedding while the Queens of Lacklanland were on their honeymoon. She couldn't handle being away from Bruce that long. If she couldn't stay, she was prepared to beg Sarah to let Bruce come stay with her back in Salem.
Just thinking of being away from the hulking man brought a chill to her small frame. She shuddered involuntarily as the thought crossed her mind. Why was she feeling like this? She had known him just over a month and been dating half that, at best. She really needed to talk to Sarah and Kenzi, separately, about this. They were so into each other that their love was obvious and genuine. Mil saw they way they looked at each other when they thought no one was watching.
That was something that she was used to. Being ignored. Not that Sarah or Kenzi ever truly ignored her. On the contrary, they were constantly making sure she was included in stuff. She was their third wheel but it was never truly awkward. Sure Mil made things awkward just by breathing but being around the couple just seemed natural. Like they belonged together in their friendship.
They accepted her without a second thought. It seemed, at times, that they had always been close and friends. Long than they actually have been. But that just seemed to Mil to be how this place was. The people who were here in Lacklanland all the time belonged there. Mil included. She sighed and sat up on the edge of her bed.
She had to get back to her duties today. Her best friends were counting on her and she wasn't gonna let them down. She opened the drawer in her nightstand and pulled out her hip flask. She took a swig out of it and then shoved it into her back pocket as she got up. She exited her room and headed down the hall. She made a few turns before she realized she was lost. She huffed and pulled out her phone. She dialed a number and then stood there waiting for an answer.
“Hey, babe... Yeah, I'm lost... SHUT UP!! Just, like, come find me... Please... I need my teddy bear.” She turned around on the spot before noticing a huge painting of Sarah's father in one of his masks. “Yeah, there is this portrait of Sarah's dad here... Um, can't see his face just mask... Okay babe, hurry please.”
She hung up her phone and shoved it into her empty back pocket. She fished out her flask and took another drink as she waited for Bruce to come find her.
