Somewhere in Calgary, Alberta, Canada a light snow is falling on mid-day side walks. The streets aren't very busy but various people are still passing by. What we see however is one man, LAW's own Peter Kelly standing on the sidewalk in front of a red brick building's concrete steps checking his watch.
Peter: This is supposed to be the spot. I think she knows we're coming. She should be here soon, it's five to two.
Almost on cue the front door or the building up the steps from Peter Kelly opens and out steps a diminutive blonde. Dressed in faded blue jeans with knee-high brown leather boots and a slim black fleece jacket she bounds down the steps quickly to meet the reporter.
Emily: Hi, you must be Mr. Kelly...
Peter: Peter Kelly, yes. I'm with LAW wrestling. You can call me Peter.
Emily: Hi Peter, nice to meet you.
She extends her hand to him with a warm, beaming smile.
Peter: Uh, yeah... Hi. Nice to meet you too...
He's hesitant to take her hand, but does finally give in to greet her with a shake.
Emily: I'm sorry I'm late Mr. Kelly, I tried to get out here quicker.
Peter: You're five minutes early. And you can call me Peter.
Emily: Thanks Peter, you're not mad right?
She looks up at him, worried.
Peter: No, no... Like I said, you're early.
Emily: Ok, good.
Peter: Now as you know I'm here from LAW, we're here to get a few comments from you about the debut of the premiere woman’s wrestling company in the world.
Emily: Uh yeah... It's pretty cool. Like I just was training not that long ago and they said I was done and that the only thing I could do was look for work and actually fight some people to get better than this came up. I heard about LAW and thought it looked like the place for me to start.
Peter: So this will be your first wrestling experience?
Emily: Outside the school where I trained, yeah. I'm pretty pumped about it too.
Peter: This is a pretty big deal then, you went straight from a wrestling school into a major company. You're very lucky to get this chance. What got you interested in going to a wrestling school in the first place?
She takes a moment to think back over her reasons to enter the world of professional wrestling and the road she never thought she would end up taking. Tucking a long strand of her honey blonde hair back behind her ear she gives a smile.
Emily: Well it's kinda funny really, 'cause when I was little I'd watch wrestling on the TV because it's what my older brothers wanted to watch and thought it was pretty funny to see these men in their underwear punching one another and hitting each other with chairs, but after they grew up and moved I didn't think about it again. But then after high school I didn't have money or anything to go to college or anything like that, so I was a waitress for a bit until I got enough money to get an apartment and move here.
Peter: So you ended up moving to the wrestling capital of Canada, how did you end up joining a wrestling school.
Emily: A friend I met in my building was super into wrestling and he told me about how he was gonna do it and I should come and watch him, so I went and the guy that ran the place said I should give it a try.
Peter: And just like that?
Emily: Just like that. I got in there and it was so fun. Running around and doing stuff. It was kind of like cheerleading but with punches and kicks!
Peter: Cheerleading?
Emily: Yeah, I did it in High School and Middle School. We didn't have like, gymnastics or anything so that's the closest I could get. Now I found this.
Peter: And your friend?
Emily: Oh well he ended up dropping out of the class after like two weeks. I think he didn't like getting beat up by a girl.
She grins.
Peter: Not many guys do. But I'm sure you'll fit right in and do great thing in LAW.
Emily: Thank you, Peter. I hope so. I can't wait to have you and everyone else watch me get in the ring and see what I can do!
Peter: I'll certainly be there, best of luck.
Emily: Thanks!
She extends her hand to him again but this time he takes it without pause and gives her a longer, slower handshake than before as the scene fades.
