I spent the drive back to the hotel from the Cincinnati Gardens Arena thinking where I went wrong in my match against Gabby. Taking nothing away from her, she gave me one Hell of a fight and proved why she’s the number one contender for the LAW World Championship, yet I still feel like I could have won that match if I’d held on just that little bit longer.
However, despite the loss, I must have impressed Megan Helms-King and Lucas Dupree since I have been given a spot on the Night of Glory IV card and my opponent is the former three-time Chaos Champion, Samantha Tolson.
This time, I’m not going to let the opportunity pass me by.
Dressed in a pair of black high heeled boots, a pair of skin tight black leather trousers, a black “Unbreakable Angel” T-shirt and my black leather jacket with my duffel bag slung over my shoulder, I enter the hotel room, still feeling a little disappointed over the loss as I drop the bag down by the door.
I slowly walk over to the couch in the lounge area and slump down onto it as the bedroom door opens and in walks my girlfriend, Jennifer, who is dressed in a red silk nightdress along with a matching dressing gown.
“Are you okay, baby?”
She walks over to me and sits down on my lap, wrapping her arms around my neck and looks at me as I let out a sigh before looking up into her big beautiful eyes.
“I came so close to winning tonight, honey…”
“I know you did. You did great.”
“Great isn’t good enough though.”
Pulling me into an embrace, my cheek rests on her chest as she kisses me on the top of my head.
“You’ll get there eventually, Stace. I believe in you...but you need to believe in yourself as well.”
“Yeah, I know. At least on the plus side, I have a match at Night of Glory IV.”
Pulling away from me now, my sweet chinchilla looks at me with a big smile on her face.
“That’s fantastic news, who are you facing?”
“Sam Tolson.”
“Wow. She’s a former three-time Chaos Champion. That’s a big deal.”
Raising my eyebrow, I smirk at her.
“Look at you doing your research…”
“I’m an interviewer...it’s my job.”
I smile before leaning into her, giving her a passionate kiss.
“And you’re an amazing one at that. Just like you’re an amazing mother and girlfriend.”
The colour of her cheeks turn bright red as she tries to hide her face by putting her arm in front of it.
“Staaahp! You’re making me blush!”
“Hehe. Come ‘ere you!”
I pull her onto me, so she’s lying over my knees and I give her another passionate kiss, much longer than the previous one.
“I love you so much, my sweet chinchilla.”
“And I love you too, my beautiful raven.”
She stands to her feet, taking hold of my hand and pulling me up to my own feet before she leads me into the bedroom.
One of the reasons why I love Jennifer so much is she always knows what to say or do to make me feel better no matter how I’m feeling. She’s my everything, she’s my rock, and she is certainly my inspiration and motivation to keep going with my career, despite how tough things can get sometimes.
She’s my Wiishu to my JackSepticEye, and for those who don’t watch YouTube, you won’t get that.
A few days later and there’s a lot on my mind after what transpired at HYBRID Unleashed episode twenty. I wasn’t booked for the show, but I went there to see if anyone would accept my challenge to face me for my Evolution Championship at the next Pay-Per-View event, Proving Grounds and true enough, it was accepted, and by a friend of mine as well which is super awesome.
But then at the end of the show, that very same friend was kidnapped by the Children of Nephilim and shit’s just hit the fan in HYBRID now regarding that cult. Thankfully, I’m pleased to report that Maki is fine and we’re both looking forward to doing battle for the first time ever for my championship.
But this isn’t about HYBRID, this is about LAW.
The camera flickers to life as I’m here at my home in Orlando, dressed in a pair of dark blue denim jeans and a plain black tank top. Once I’m happy with the setup of the camera on the tripod, I make my way over to the black leather sofa and sit down on it.
Leaning forward, I pick up the pint glass of Dr Pepper that’s resting on the table in front of me and take a swig before setting it back down in it’s place.
“Before I get to my opponent for Night of Glory IV, first of all, I want to say that as disappointed as I am that I was unable to get the win over Gabby Camacho at LAW episode seventy two, I just want to congratulate her on a very well deserved win. You proved why you’re the number one contender for the LAW World Championship and I wish you the best of luck against Amy Jo Smyth at Night of Glory IV. I hope that I’m able to do battle with you again in the future, and of course, I hope that the next time we do meet, the end result is different.”
I lift my feet up off the floor and rest them on the sofa, getting myself more comfortable as I rest my right arm on the arm of it.
“But now, let’s get to what’s important...that being my next match which even though this will be my second Pay-Per-View appearance for LAW, technically this is my first Pay-Per-View appearance as a full-time member of the LAW roster as for the Queen of the Ring tournament, I was just here part-time due to other commitments. And I’m going to be facing off against a tough competitor in the form of former three-time Chaos Champion, Samantha Tolson.”
A smile grows on my face over the prospect of facing such a talented individual.
“Despite this being the first time we’ve ever stepped into the ring against each other and despite this being the first time we’ve worked in the same company, we’re certainly no strangers to one another. We’ve become friends over social media and much like I do with anyone I’m facing, I’ve seen a lot of your matches so I know that you’re not going to be an easy fight.”
Picking up my drink again, I take a couple more gulps of the fizzy liquid.
“I also know that you’re desperately after a victory considering ever since you lost the Chaos Championship to our mutual ‘friend’, Saltwater Suzy...you’ve unfortunately hit a bit of a slump that has seen you lose to LAW World Champion, Amy Jo Smyth and most recently, Maya Jensen. I don’t mean to upset you by bringing up these losses that I know sting, but the reason why I’m doing this is because I understand that when you go from being a champion to suffering a losing streak, it makes you a very dangerous opponent.”
I run my hands through my long black hair as I smirk.
“But the thing is, Sam...I too am on a losing streak since the last time I won a match which was when Zoey, Farrah and I defeated Suzy, Angie and Ashley in six women tag team action. And on top of that, I only have two singles victories under my belt here in LAW which were my debut match against Starlight that helped me qualify for the Queen of the Ring tournament and when I defeated La Estrella in the first round of said tournament. My last two matches, I lost to Gabby Camacho and the current Marquee Champion and fellow Boardwalk Angel, Crystal Hilton.”
My face drops a little now because I know how close I was in both of those matches to walking out the victor.
“I’m still the new girl here, and I’m trying to make a name for myself so with that on top of my recent losses, you can guarantee that I am just as dangerous and as hungry as you are in regards to wanting to win this match! I came so close to defeating the Marquee Champion and the number one contender for the World Championship, but I just fell short...I don’t intend to make that same mistake again when we step into the ring at Night of Glory IV!”
I once again take another drink of my beverage, allowing the sweet nectar to slide down my throat.
“I noticed that leading up to your match with Maya, she had already shot herself down in that she was going to lose to you and yet she managed to get the win. Now, of course, I don’t know if she was just saying that or that she genuinely believed she was going to lose to you. But I’m not Maya Jensen, I don’t go into any match believing that I’m going to lose...but at the same time, I also don’t go into any match believing I’m going to win. I know this match is going to be tough, as I alluded to earlier, you’re a former three-time Chaos Champion here and I’m yet to win any championship in LAW. Yes, I’ve won titles elsewhere but here, none of that matters. What does matter though is that I have beaten some of this company's best, such as La Estrella, Angelica Vaughn, Ashley Williams and Hell, I even won that Over The Top Rope Battle Royal against every woman who competed in the Queen of the Ring tournament bar Katalina Star. Not only that, but everyone else who I have faced, despite losing those matches, I took them to their limit and forced them to give me their best so that they would avoid falling to the Unbreakable Angel!”
Now placing my feet back onto the floor, I lean forward, glaring into the camera as I rest my elbows on my knees.
“I know that you want the very best of me at Night of Glory IV, Sam...and you can bet your ass that you’re going to get it! Nothing is going to stop me from climbing the ladder of success here! It doesn’t matter who you are...if you’re in my way...I plan on taking you down! Much like my match with Gabby and with Crystal...I know that a victory over you will be huge for my career and so I don’t plan on letting that slip away from me again! So you better bring your very best too, honey...because on November 26th, 2017...live from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in the great state that I was born in, New York? You shall suffer my Judgement! Your Final Penance...is coming!”
And with that, I stand to my feet and make my way over to the camera, giving a little wave before switching it off, causing the screen to go black.
I’m starting to feel like a broken record here, but here I am again, with a point to prove and a difficult opponent ahead of me. But the challenges I face in this business is what I thrive on because I’m setting out to become the very best and to do that, I have to beat the best of the best.
And just like with Gabby and Crystal? I consider Sam to be one of the best too.
However, despite the loss, I must have impressed Megan Helms-King and Lucas Dupree since I have been given a spot on the Night of Glory IV card and my opponent is the former three-time Chaos Champion, Samantha Tolson.
