{A black screen. After some time, We get the usual intro, then we get more LAW event highlights, and then Gabby Camacho, Crystal Hilton, The Boardwalk Angels, Kenzi Grey, and Kate Steele holding up their respective titles. We cut from that to a live wide shot of the audience as they cheer wildly as "Fighter" by Christina Aguilera playings We go to Troy, Skye, and Duke, already sitting down.}
{Nova Sinclair is seen walking down the hall, just arriving backstage. She has her duffel bag in tow, and a confident smile on her face as she walks. A few moments later she suddenly stops and her face turns serious. As the camera pans back, Colin Reed is now seen. He immediately spots Nova, and he begins shaking his head and holding up his hands.}
Colin Reed: Look, Nova, I really have nothing to say about Kenzi or my past personal business with her. So, if that is what--
{Nova shakes her head and approaches Colin. She adjusts the strap of her duffel bag over her shoulder and looks at him.}
Nova Sinclair: No, no, no, Colin. Just...let me speak my peace here. I promise I won’t do or say anything like I did at Night of Glory.
Colin Reed: I don’t know if I honestly believe that, Nova. I mean, I thought you were a nice girl and all until you went and confronted me like that. You put me in an awkward spot, and I’m the one who is supposed to be the interviewer here. Not you.
{Nova nods, looking ashamed.}
Nova Sinclair: Yes, I realize that now. And I...I just want to apologize for all of that. It was completely wrong of me to do that.
Colin Reed: Really? You’re...apologizing?
{Nova nods again.}
Nova Sinclair: I am. And I hope you believe me and accept my apology. I wasn’t exactly thinking when I approached you like that at Night of Glory, and it came to my attention afterwards that it came across as harsh and even unwarranted. I really didn’t mean for it to come across the way that it did, and I shouldn’t have done it at all. So...I’m sorry.
{Colin thinks for a moment, nodding slowly as he processes Nova’s apology in his head. He folds his arms and Nova stares at him, waiting for him to respond. He finally drops his arms to his side and shrugs.}
Colin Reed: Apology accepted.
{Nova suddenly smiles brightly and goes so far as to wrap her arms around Colin in a hug. It takes him by surprise and she realizes this, suddenly backing away, once again looking apologetic.}
Nova Sinclair: Sorry, personal space and all. Thank you so much for accepting my apology, Colin. I’m sure Kenzi won’t believe it was sincere, but it really is. I’m still just learning the ropes around here and trying not to let all of the craziness get the best of me, but I guess it will from time to time. Anyway, I guess I should go get ready for my match tonight. Big opportunity on the line, you know!
{Nova is about to walk away but Colin stops her.}
Colin Reed: Hey, Nova! Can I give you a bit of advice?
{Nova stops, turns and looks at him.}
Nova Sinclair: Sure. Go ahead.
Colin Reed: Whatever beef you have with Kenzi, don’t let it consume you. You seem like a nice person, and I’d hate for you to be seen as anything else because of it all. Just...let it go.
{Nova thinks and a few moments later, she smiles and nods.}
Nova Sinclair: Thanks for the advice, Colin, but I know what I’m doing. Anyway, see you later!
{Nova then skips off, happy that her conscience is now clear. Colin takes in a deep breath and then shakes his head before turning and walking away as the scene fades.}
{Jessika skips along happily in the back hall swinging her leash around happily getting set to meet up with her Mistress before their match when she notices a picture being kicked out from underneath a closed door. Curiosity getting the better of her, the Naughty Girl reaches down taking a look at the photo only to dig her claws into the film when she sees it's a picture of Katalina strung up with her arms crossed above her head and a thick ballgag lodged into her mouth. It also doesn't help that across Kat's chest is written “SLUT” in red lipstick.
Crumpling up the picture, Jessika turns to the door yanking it open coming face to face with...Katie. Who was strung up with her arms crossed above her head and mouth filled with a thick ballgag. Across her chest, still at least covered by her black bra, was the word “SLUT” in red lipstick. Jessika stares at Katie for a bit who starts mumbling out commands to be let out. However, her fellow Naughty Girl just spits out air between her lips before quickly breaking into hysterics so hard that she falls to the floor. Katie furrows her brow as Pet steps out from behind her having hoped for a different reaction than this.
Therefore, with a troubled sigh, Pet begins to walk away stepping over Jessika still in a fit as Katie screams through her gag for her to notice the retreating redhead. It doesn't work as Pet, confused, wanders down the hall leaving Katie to stare down at Jessika and mumble something else. Something about a “stupid bunt” or whatever.}
{Angelica and Jessika tangle up in collar and elbow style, with Vaughn using her leverage at a full five foot nine to push Hyde back into the ropes. The referee calls for a clean break and Angelica complies, walking back to the middle of the ring. Hyde charges at her from behind, attempting to take advantage of the young Vaughn for taking her eyes off the ball, but Vaughn spins around and catches her in the act before Hyde makes contact.
Angie reaches toward Jessika, but Hyde backs up and begs off... she starts clapping her hands and hopping up and down... then she starts a cheer!}
Jessika Hyde: Angie Angie she’s the best! She’s way taller than the rest! GoooOOOOoooOOOO Angie!!!
{Angelica smiles and blushes a little in the ring, then turns to Ash in her corner and points at Jessika, to make sure Ash saw the display. As soon as Angie turns around, though, Jessika Hyde drops her with a huge forearm to the back of her head! Angie hits the mat face first and Jessika jumps on her back, burying hard elbow shots into Angie’s head and neck. Vaughn is completely trapped under Hyde, able to only feebly kick her long legs. Finally, Ash Williams rushes into the ring and sends a stiff knee into the face of Jessika Hyde, sending the Naughty Girl rolling off of Vaughn. Ash drags Angelica back into their shared corner and exits the ring again at the behest of the referee, but only momentarily as she then tags herself in and races back across the ring to where Hyde is still counting her teeth.
Ash Williams gathers the stunned Jessika Hyde up and pulls her into a butterfly position... then releases her in an overhead suplex! Hyde bounces halfway across the ring and Ash wastes no time, running over to a near corner and scaling the ropes.
Ash leaps from the top turnbuckle and pumps her arms and legs, crashing down in the Ash-cension! But Jessika Hyde rolls away at the last moment, leaving Williams to connect with nothing but canvas. Hyde rolls all the way to her partner and tags in Katalina while Ash clutches her ribs. Katalina grabs the back of Ash’s head and pulls her up, then drops her face first across her knee! Ash stumbles to her feet, dazed, and Katalina scoops her up, dropping her quick in a Michinko Driver! She holds on for a pin! 1... 2... Ash manages to kick out right at the last second. Both women get to their feet, though Katalina has her wits about her more and drives a hard forearm shot into Ash’s head. Ash eats another shot, and another, stumbling backward into the ropes, but comes off of the ropes with a strong right hand of her own, rocking Katalina! Katalina then... stumbles forward? She trips and grabs at Ash’s chest to steady herself.
In the ring, Ash does, in fact, seem a little flattered. Katalina smirks and then drops to a knee... she pulls a ring out from somewhere and proposes to Ash Williams right in the ring! Ash immediately starts crying tears of joy, nodding furiously.
But when Katalina stands up and embraces Ash, she grips hard and turns it into a belly to belly suplex! The wedding is off! Ash grabs at the small of her back as Katalina stomps her viciously. She grabs Ash as Williams struggles to regain her vertical base and whips her into the ropes, catching her as she rebounds and spinning her in a high impact spinebuster! Rather than shooting the half and going for a pin, Katalina lingers with her face hovering over Ash Williams’ groin... she sticks her tongue out as if she might kiss her where it smells funny, but Ash springs to life and wraps her legs around the Naughty Girl, catching her in a deep gogoplata!
Katalina struggles and scrambles, getting closer and closer to the ropes as Ash continues to squeeze with all of her strength. Katalina gets her scootched back just enough to hook her leg over the bottom rope, and the referee moves in to force a break. Ash takes advantage of her proximity to her home corner by tagging in the fresh Angelica Vaughn, who steps over the top rope in one fluid motion.
Angie pulls Katalina up and scoops her, then turns and drops her in a hard sidewalk slam. Katalina is up quickly, though in obvious pain, but sends a few hard shots into Angie’s midsection before the Vaughnemous one forces her backward into a corner, where she drives in hard back elbows and knee lifts, pausing to flip her hair out of her face. Angie backs up and Katalina falls face first onto the canvas, and Angie pumps up the crowd, calling for the finish! Grabbing a handful of hair, Angie pulls Katalina up and pull her toward the Queens’ corner, then tags Ash who climbs to the top of the corner. Angie then bends Katalina over and hooks her arms, turning her body and lifting her into position for a vertebraker! Jessika Hyde enters the ring and runs toward Angie, but Angie sees her coming and lifts one of her long legs up, catching Hyde right on the button with a huge big boot, which sends Hyde flopping all the way out of the ring, her legs flailing.
Angie turns back toward Ash as the referee continues the five count for Vaughn to leave the ring. Ash leaps off the top and hits a double stomp to Katalina Star as Ash drop her down in the vertebraker! Dethronement hit to perfection! Angie rolls out of the ring as Ashley hooks Katalina’s leg! 1... 2... 3!!! The Queens of Wrestling win it!}
{Cameras cut to the backstage area post-match and the already hot crowd erupts on a new level at the sight of the Boardwalk Angels making their way down the hall. Stacy Jones and Crystal Hilton, obviously off preparing for their respective matches later in the evening, are absent but the reaction is no less potent from the tough-to-please Philly fans. Zoey Madigan-Star and Farrah Cornett walk with a sense of pride and determination tonight, perhaps more so than usual. Farrah, much like her nickname, is dressed in a dark crimson suit with black boots while Zoey has taken a turn for the elegant in a purple silk dress with sparkly (yes, sparkly) heels and a black shawl swept over her shoulders and around her neck. More prominent than the tasteful attire, however, are the LAW World Tag Team Championships over their shoulders.
There’s a few greetings tossed their way, a few words of congratulations… and a couple of strange looks at how in Zoey’s off-hand she’s carrying what looks like a bag of take-out. To her, though, it’s no big deal. As they walk, though, Farrah comments offhandedly with a smirk.}
Farrah Cornett: If we don’t find her soon, I’m-a snatch those boxes, Zee.
Zoey Madigan-Star: You’re going to behave is what you’re going to do! There’s some for us while we’re on our way to the party tomorrow!
{Laughing off her partner’s retort, the Angels round a corner and come to a slow stop as a smile spreads across the Sorcerous Angel’s face.}
Zoey Madigan-Star: Told you.
{The view pans around and the fans have another reason to hoot and holler as the freshly-crowned Breakout Champion, Kenzi Grey, is shown coming up from the other direction with her wife Sarah Lacklan on her arm as per always. The four meet in the middle of the hallway and it’s easy to spot the expression on Grey’s face change when she picks up on a certain scent in the air… and the change in expression has Zoey laughing lightly.}
Kenzi Grey-Lacklan: I TOLD YOU I SMELLED FOOD!
{Sarah gives one of her famously huge red-tinged eye rolls from the confines of her motorized wheelchair. Her platinum hair is done up a bejeweled bun and he painted wings stand out starkly against her pale skin as she glances up at her wife.}
Sarah Selena Grey-Lacklan: Beloved, you have a match, you can’t eat like a pig and go out and wrestle on a full belly!
{Kenzi brushes off her wife’s fears. Her nose…in typical fashion, outweighs good sense. She leans down, hugging her Baby and pecking her on the cheek.}
Kenzi Grey-Lacklan: Don’t be a fuddy duddy!
{Kenzi turns her attention to the tag team champions, squealing like a school girl as she gives the two of them hugs in turn, congratulating them on their win at Night of Glory, despite the fact that it came at the expense of their friend, Angie Vaughn. Sarah nods from her wheelchair, clearly not comfortable to be confined instead of on her own two feet against women she had competed against only a few short weeks ago.}
Sarah Selena Grey-Lacklan: Angels…pardon me if I don’t stand, just yet.
Farrah Cornett: It’s all right, Sarah. It’s nice to see you regardless.
Zoey Madigan-Star: Always. We packed some extra in here for you as well.
{There’s still hesitation on Sarah’s part, but none on the part of the Angels. The match was an intense encounter, but it started and ended with that in their minds. Both go to Sarah and afford her the same greetings and affection, with the same warmth, that they offered to Kenzi. Lacklan seems taken aback at first, perhaps feeling there would still be strife between them, but she eventually realizes that that particular worry was unfounded.}
Zoey Madigan-Star: You’re recovering well, I hope?
{Sarah’s mood lightens in the face of such goodwill. She nods and a rare smile breaks through that had been absent for so many weeks.}
Sarah Selena Grey-Lacklan: My hands shake at times and my legs don’t respond, but I have faith…my Beloved doesn’t help, she jumps at my every whim. I wonder if she’ll ever let me do anything on my own!
{Kenzi sticks out her tongue at Sarah and turns her attention to the bag of delicious yummies that the girls brought with them.}
Kenzi Grey-Lacklan: OKAY! What’s in the bag? I heard all this talk about Italian and I am ready to throw down…before I throw down in the ring tonight!
Zoey Madigan-Star: She just loves you and wants you focus on recovery. I’d be the same way were it Katalina in your spot.
{Handing over the bag to Kenzi with a small laugh, Zoey turns to the Breakout Champion.}
Zoey Madigan-Star: Well, let’s see… manicotti, Caesar salad, home-baked bread and tiramisu. All homemade. And enough for both of you, Kenzi, so make sure Sarah gets her share, hear me?
Farrah Cornett: Spoken like a true Italian mama. No one goes home hungry.
{All four laugh at that one, enhancing the feel-good moment. Farrah, though, gets a bit serious after a moment and as Kenzi is sifting through the sealed containers in the bag.}
Farrah Cornett: There’s something that I feel Zee and I need to say… predominantly to you, Ken, but it involves Sarah as well.
{Zoey’s smile lingers but she shares her partner’s seriousness. This gets the attention of both Kenzi and Sarah, with a hint of concern that things might go sour very soon.}
Farrah Cornett: When we first came in here, things were pretty heated between our two sides. Hell, even before we signed with LAW the two of us were throwing shade at each other all over Twitter, Kenzi. We all said some things that, while most of them may have been true, they were pretty… harsh. We were at one another’s throats figuratively and literally. I just want to say that… I’m glad we moved past that. Life’s too damn short to be so full of hate. This past year has taught me that the hard way.
{Nodding in agreement, Zoey continues her partner’s thoughts in her own words.}
Zoey Madigan-Star: I’m in full agreement. This friendship that’s building between us all is something that I never foresaw in the beginning. But I’m glad I was wrong in that regard. Keep the violence and sharp words in the ring, where it belongs. On the outside, live and let live. It’s hard to put into words, even for me, but I think you know what we’re getting at.
{Kenzi casts her eyes down, clearly not prepared for that level of seriousness or to be taken back to that time in her life. Those had been dark days that were filled with bad memories and bad feelings that still carried over for many to this day, including to Farrah’s step daughter and their friend Stacy Jones. Kenzi glanced up and nodded in appreciation of the sentiment.}
Kenzi Grey-Lacklan: I have…regrets about a great many things in my life, but I have also come to understand that life is a road and we all take different paths that lead us to pass each other and sometime crash into one another. It’s a journey and sometimes we make mistakes, but I don’t dwell on them, not anymore. I focus on what I can do to make that road a bit less bumpy, to make the right that much more enjoyable…
{She reaches out and takes Sarah’s hand, her face brightens immediately.}
Kenzi Grey-Lacklan: …right now, my life is in cruise control and my riding partner is perfect. She has opened my eyes to so many things along the way, and to so many truths about who I was and who I plan to become.
{She looked at the Angels in turn.}
Kenzi Grey-Lacklan: I may not have enjoyed it when we were crashing into one another, but I know that I am a better person for it now. I thank you two for at least seeing me for who a really am and not for the person that I was made out to be. I…
{Kenzi is cut off as the former Breakout Champion, Etsuko Mitzusaka approaches with Nikki close behind. Kenzi tenses as she puts herself between Etsuko and her wife, more as a matter of instinct than anything else. Her expression hardens.}
Kenzi Grey-Lacklan: Etsuko, I accepted your challenge last week. I don’t think we have very much left to say to each other until it’s officially booked.
{Etsuko stared at Kenzi for an exceedingly long and uncomfortable moment before she finally spoke.}
Etsuko Mitzusaka: Miss Kenzi, I wanted to thank you for the opportunity to retake that which I never lost. I will retake my title, and once I have restored my honor, I will seek out greater goals…and then, perhaps you will thank me Miss Kenzi.
{Kenzi rested her hand on the title belt around her waist, her eyes cutting into the would-be challenger. She drummed her fingers across its platinum face.}
Kenzi Grey-Lacklan: Etsuko, I told you that I was saving you a seat at ringside. Come on down and get a real close look. After tonight…after I do what you FAILED to do and I win the Champion’s Challenge, there will be no greater goal than to beat me…the Champion…of Champions!
{Etsuko stepped to within a few inches of Kenzi and everyone around them tensed up, ready for a conflict, but Etsuko only casts her eyes down to the championship title. Her hands knot into fists, then she brushes pass Kenzi. Kenzi turns to watch her leave, then notices a curious brand burned into the woman’s back in angry scars…}
S H A M E
{Kenzi takes Sarah by her hand as she looks at the Angels, thanking them for helping to keep the peace…but mostly for the delicious food as the four part ways.}
{Before the match kicks off, all eight combatants are standing in the ring as far away from each other as possible. Roxy, Kayla, Sam and Nova each stand in a corner, while Milisandre, Maria, Stacy and Etsuko all stand alongside a ring rope, clutching it to make sure they aren’t caught by surprise as soon as the bell rings. Roxy throws a look at her hulking bodyguard who stand outside of the ring, and screams at her to earn her paycheck.
Once the ref calls for the bell, they all swarm towards the middle of the ring, eager to be as far away from the edge of the ring as possible and to get at their favorite targets first. Groups start to form; some organically, some with more intent like Roxy and Sam who make a beeline for each other, their score far from settled. Maria and Nova start clobbering away at each other while the stronger Kayla Winters manages to back Milisandre up into a corner following a collar and elbow lock-up; Stacy reverses an attempt at a clothesline by Etsuko into an armdrag that sends her towards the nearest ropes.
As soon as Etsuko gets up Stacy is there to clothesline her over the top rope, but Etsuko lands on the ring apron, hanging on for dear life, clutching the bottom rope with both arms and legs as Stacy desperately tries grinding her foot against her side to try and get her out, using the rope for leverage. No success just yet, though.
Meanwhile Kayla is dealing out a series of chops to Milisandre in the corner, each looking and sounding more painful than the last. The sound of the chops is nothing compared to what is going on in the corner though, as Roxy shrieks while Sam slams her back-first into the mat with a hairpull, clearly targeting something she knows Roxy would take offense at: her hair. Roxy crawls away into the corner, making herself tiny against the lower turnbuckle and barks at Milisandre to come and help her.
Her fellow CoolKid is in too much of a pickle to acquiesce however. Kayla has lifted Milisandre onto the top turnbuckle where she is now seated and takes a few steps back, clearly looking to gather enough momentum to knock her off. But as Kayla storms, Milisandre shows surprising quickness and athleticism by leaping off the top turnbuckle. While Kayla goes chest-first into the corner, Milisandre uses her aerial move to nail the pair of Maria and Nova, both of whom were still engaged in a fist fight in the middle of the ring. The missile dropkick connects and the three of them go down.
While Sam is still stomping away on Roxy, Kayla notices Stacy still trying to push Etsuko out with her feet. She runs over to go and help pushing her out but Etsuko keeps hanging on. Meanwhile, Mili, Nova and Maria get to their feet. Milisandre nails Maria with a ‘Bow Down’ out of nowhere! Maria collapses to the mat again but as Milisandre gets up, Nova hits her with a hurricanrana that sends her towards the corner, through the turnbuckles and shoulder-first into the steel ringpost. Mili screams and grabs her shoulder in pain as she momentarily stays wedged in her location.
Nova lifts Maria Salvatore up and unceremoniously dumps her over the top rope, thus getting the first elimination!
Nova Sinclair eliminates Maria Salvatore
Milisandre meanwhile gets free from her precarious situation, but she has caught the eye of Sam Tolson who was still working on Roxy. Still bent over, her eyes watered and dazed from the pain, Milisandre never sees her coming and runs straight into a Victory Drop Alpha! Sam looks to get Mil up and eliminate her, but Roxy runs into her from behind with a chop block. Sam’s knee buckles and she drops to one leg. Roxy follows it up with a Hip Attack, levelling her nemesis before screaming at Milisandre to quit her whining and help her eliminate Sam.
Nova meanwhile, after getting the elimination, sees Kayla and Stacy trying to get an elimination of their own by still trying to push Etsuko off. She smells an opportunity and runs over to Stacy, grabbing her legs and throwing her over the top rope! However she lands on the apron next to Etsuko. Kayla is started by Nova’s sudden appearance but knees her in the gut out of instinct and gets her in a slam position.
While Kayla has Nova in her arms, Etsuko and Stacy are both on the apron trying to eliminate each other. Etsuko claws at Stacy’s eyes and face but the Unbreakable Stacy Jones responds with a headbutt that makes Etsuko reel. Etsuko is on spaghetti legs and Kayla notices. She throws Nova in Etsuko’s direction with a Fallaway Slam. Stacy quickly moves out of the way but the impact of Nova hitting Etsuko sends her down to the ground below. The referee points at Kayla, handing her the elimination.
Kayla Winters eliminates Etsuko
Roxy has gotten Sam up and shouts again for Mili to help her. The Antediluvian Queen is in obvious pain however and is a bit too slow for Roxy’s liking. She barks at her to get a move on, but Milisandre seems none too impressed with Roxy’s attitude. The distraction is enough for Sam to wrench herself free of Roxy’s grip. She shoves the Bubblegum Bombshell to the side and hits Mili with a jumping armbreaker. Sam kips up, ducks a Roxy roundhouse kick and when Roxy has spun around grabs her from behind before throwing her over the top rope with an unbelievable Nightfall! Roxy goes over!
Or she would have, had her bodyguard not caught her on the outside! Roxy lands in Maxine’s arms and Sam Tolson is absolutely livid as the referee states she has not been eliminated since neither of her feet hit the ground. Maxine shoves Roxy back into the ring.
Sam wants to go right back on her case, but is spun around by Mili who hits Sam with an Exploder Suplex. Ili doesn’t gt up right away though, clutching her upper arm and shoulder in pain, the exertion clearly taking its toll on the limb that had gotten so much abuse. Roxy gets up and completely ignores Milisandre, opting to take advantage of Sam’s precarious position. But she is hit with a Stacy’s Judgment out of nowhere. Stacy, after escaping from Kayla throwing Nova into Etsuko, climbed the top turnbuckle and bided her time to strike.
Kayla meanwhile has Nova in a corner. She managed to throw one of Nova’s legs over the top rope and is pushing to try and get her over completely, but Nova manages to hold on. Sam Tolson sees Kayla struggling and rushes in to help, apparently happy to let Stacy go to town on Roxy for a bit while Milisandre has crawled into a corner, out of sight while still clutching her shoulder.
Sam grabs Kayla’s legs and throws her over the top rope but she manages to land on the apron much like Etsuko. She lashes out at Sam and catches her with a forearm. Tolson backs off and Winters leaps through the ropes, hitting her with a slingshot Spear that takes her down. Nova sees what is happening and quickly gets on the top turnbuckle before hitting Sam with a Super Nova!
Meanwhile, Stacy has mounted Roxy and is gladly going to town. After a dozen strikes she gets off but Milisandre hits her from behind with a clobbering blow to the back of the head. Stacy staggers forward to the ropes. Milisandre runs forward to clothesline her over the top with her one good arm but Stacy ducks, pulls down the rope and sends Mili over! The Antediluvian Queen lands on the apron, but Stacy runs the ropes and Spears Milisandre off the apron and to the outside!
But Maxine catches her too! Milisandre looks in surprise and so does Roxy’s bodyguard when she realizes what she did… and drops her! Was this not covered by her fee, maybe? As Mili lands, she awkwardly falls on her bad arm and screams in pain before the referee declares her eliminated.
Stacy Jones eliminates Milisandre Crowthorne
Roxy sees what happened and is furious, shouting at Maxine that Milisandre was in this match to help her win. But as Roxy is berating her bodyguard, Kayla Winters approaches her from behind, grabs her by the waist and neck and throws her over the top rope to the outside!
But Maxine catches her again! However, the look on Maxine’s face isn’t all that friendly. Roxy seems to realize it as she is pleading with Maxine, who looks just as likely to smack her to the ground and complete her elimination as she is to throw her back into the ring. As Kayla watches on, Stacy sneaks up on her and hits her with the Stacy’s Kick! Kayla is down and Stacy looks at Roxy’s position, then over at Nova, who has the upper hand over Sam Tolson. Tolson is still dazed after the Super Nova and Nova is sizing her up to grab her second elimination of the night. She shoves Sam into the ropes and hits her with a tilt-a-whirl slam. She catches Stacy Jones eyeballing her and motions for her to come over and help her eliminate Sam.
Stacy obliges. Meanwhile, Maxine throws Roxy back into the ring who quickly regains her composure and makes sure to stay out of sight for now while Kayla is still down.
Nova gets Sam in a stalling suplex, before dropping her on the top rope, hanging her up and leaving her in dire straits, not to mention she has very little leverage to ensure she remains in balance. Stacy Jones smells the opportunity and runs in to go for another Stacy’s Kick but Sam manages to duck and throws herself off of the top rope back into the ring. But Stacy’s momentum carries through and she hits Nova full in the face. Sam is right there to pick up the scraps and with another Nightfall she throws Nova over the top rope. As she lands on the ground outside, the referee declares her eliminated.
Sam Tolson eliminates Nova Sinclair
Stacy and Sam both seem surprised at how fast all of this transpired. On the other end of the ring, Kayla has gotten back to her feet. Roxy lied in wait and hits Winters with a spinning heel kick that sends Kayla into the ropes where she stays, reeling. Roxy rushes at her and, probably out of instinct rather than cooperation, Sam Tolson follows her and they both clothesline Kayla over the top rope and to the outside.
Roxy Cotton & Sam Tolson eliminate Kayla Winters
Both seem stunned at the mere fact they did something in unison. But for the split second their alliance lasted, just as fast did it result into chaos. Roxy slaps Sam, who responds in kind with a thumb to the eye. Roxy clutches her eye but not before hitting Sam with a throat punch. Coughing, Sam doubles over while Roxy suffers temporary blindness.
Stacy Jones sees the opportunity of a lifetime. With both of her opponents at each other’s throats and near the ropes, she clotheslines them both over! But they both land on the apron and get back to their feet as soon as possible. Stacy tries to knock Roxy off but the Peroxide Princess ducks her shot and answers with a closed fist to Stacy’s temple. Sam sees an opening, but as she seeks to unleash a kick, she feels her foot being grabbed.
It’s Maxine again! The hulking bodyguard yanks Sam Tolson’s foot and she loses her balance, falling off the apron and to the floor. The referee does not relent: it’s an elimination.
Sam Tolson is eliminated by outside interference
We’re down to the final two! Roxy, laughing out loud at Sam’s elimination, quickly makes her way back into the ring. But as she is too focused on making fun of a furious Sam on the outside, Stacy grabs Roxy by the knees and throws her over the top rope! Maxine is there to catch her again, but Stacy has had enough. She goes over to the nearest corner and hops on the top turnbuckle before moonsaulting off to the outside! She lands right on Maxine and not even the giant bodyguard can stay upright with Roxy already in her arms. The three of them go down and all of them end up on the floor. But who was eliminated first, Roxy or Stacy?
The two ringside referees debate and argue, eventually walking over to the announcer’s booth to catch a replay in slow-mo. After a minute of debating, the referee duo goes over to the two competitors and they raise Stacy Jones’ hand, indicating that her feet hit the ground last! Stacy Jones is declared the winner!}
Stacy Jones eliminates Roxy Cotton for the victory
{Out in the ring, LAW Interviewer Peter Kelly is standing front and center with a microphone in hand while the fans are still just as rowdy as they were at the start of the show.}
Peter Kelly: Ladies and gentlemen, please join me in welcoming the longest-reigning tag team champions in LAW history… the BOARDWALK ANGELS!
"Stand on the box, stomp your feet, get clappin'
Got a real good feelin' somethin' bad about to happen!"
Got a real good feelin' somethin' bad about to happen!"
{Moving images of the New Jersey Boardwalk appear on the big screen within a pair of spread wings as the country-rock tune "Somethin' Bad" by Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood starts to play. Cut to shots of Zoey Madigan-Star and Farrah Cornett in training and in the ring before the view returns to the stage where the two women stand with their backs to the ramp, dressed as they had been backstage earlier in the show. As they turn, they as one lift their LAW World Tag Team Championships in the air while a shower of sparkles rain down behind them on the stage.}
Troy Franklin: Night of Glory IV was an amazing show, folks, but for these two young ladies it was extra special.
Duke King: They rolled in less than a year ago and within a month were the new tag team champions and since then they’ve redefined tag team wrestling here in LAW.
Skye Sparks: You both know my opinion on them, but credit where it’s due: they’re on another level.
{The Angels tap their titles together before draping them over their shoulders anew and starting down the ramp. As they ascend the steps to the apron, Peter Kelly holds the ropes for them and the two move to center ring, standing back to back with the belts lifted again, lowering them as “Somethin’ Bad” fades out. The fans’ cheering, though, takes a bit longer...}
Troy Franklin: They still get all the love, guys! I can’t hear myself think!
Skye Sparks: You’re probably not missing much.
Duke King: There’s the Skye we know and argue with...
Skye Sparks: I don’t sugarcoat my feelings. You know that.
{The Angels, of course, are enjoying the moment. It’s rare to see them so openly joyous about accomplishments like these… especially in Zoey’s case. They try to maintain an air of humility but in this instance they simply can’t help it. Sometimes, you just have to let it out and enjoy what you’ve earned. Once the crowd calms enough, Peter lifts the microphone with a smile.}
Peter Kelly: Ladies, at Night of Glory IV you broke the record previously set by the Naughty Girls by defeating a very game pair of challengers in the Queens of Wrestling. How does it feel to stand before the LAW fans having accomplished all this?
Zoey Madigan-Star: It feels amazing, Peter! Looking back at where we started and seeing how far we’ve come… it makes the whole journey worth it. Ups and downs and all else.
Farrah Cornett: Things didn’t start off peachy, either. Right from the get we came in here with a bit of a chip on our shoulder where the new Breakout and Chaos Champions are concerned. All that fire over past grudges and family matters that should have been kept in private. That carried on a ways into our reign, too. I don’t think it was until we defeated Guilty Pleasure at Validation that we truly hit our stride.
Zoey Madigan-Star: Don’t let those words make anyone here tonight or watching at home feel like we’re saying it has been easy, though. Because it hasn’t. Not by a sight.
{Holding her hair away from her brow, fans can still see the faint pink line where Zoey had to have her head stapled after the Angels’ brutal title defense against the Dynasty in a Boardwalk Brawl at Queen of the Ring.}
Zoey Madigan-Star: The proof is in the battle scars. LAW has an amazing tag team division and it’s getting better every show. The Naughty Girls, the Queens of Wrestling, the Dynasty, the Sugay Sisters… and with every new team that comes into this company, it becomes that much more of a challenge to hold on to these titles.
Peter Kelly: So far, no team has had an answer for you yet. Tell me: who do you foresee as your next challengers?
{Both Angels consider this for a moment before Farrah answers the question.}
Farrah Cornett: The Naughties are still due a rematch as far as I’m concerned. They held the record and the titles before we came around and they’ve been handling themselves damn well lately. I wouldn’t mind another collision there myself.
Zoey Madigan-Star: I’m of the mind that the more teams we face, the better the champions we will become. We’ve stated before that we’ll face any team that wants to take a shot. The only team we’ve not faced here in LAW at this moment is the Sugay Sisters… and I’d like to see what they’re made of.
Farrah Cornett: But as far as who our next challengers will be? That’s not up to us. That’s up to Lucas Dupree and the teams themselves to step up and earn that shot. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Queens of Wrestling across the ring from us again very soon.
{And from the fan reaction, it sounds as though they’d like to see that, too.}
Peter Kelly: I think we could all agree that Angels vs. Queens II would be an amazing match. Is there anything else you two want to say to the fans and locker room?
{Posed with such a question, Farrah steps forward first.}
Farrah Cornett: At the start of this road, there were a lot of detractors. And there still are, for that matter. Everyone has an opinion about who and what we are and what they think of our wrestling careers and how we carry ourselves. And y’know what? They’re welcome to those opinions. Because they’re just that: opinions.
Zoey Madigan-Star: All that negativity is just motivation for us, though. And it pales in comparison to the support and love that we get from 99% of the people out there. You guys...
{She gestures toward the fans with the title in hand still.}
Zoey Madigan-Star: ...are a big part of the reason that we’ve made it to this point. Because you cheered. Because you believed. Because you never let us forget who we are and what we’re capable of in this ring. So for that… thank you.
Farrah Cornett: Better strap in, though, boys and girls. Because the ride is far from over. The Boardwalk Angels aren’t letting go of these titles any time soon.
Zoey Madigan-Star: In 2018, we’re taking these titles and LAW itself to yet another level...
Farrah Cornett: ...so get ready to fly.
{“Somethin’ Bad” hits again as the Angels hold up the titles, soaking in the reaction of the fans as they leave the ring and head up the ramp, meeting the hands of those that reach for them on both sides.}
Troy Franklin: Just getting started, huh? Well, I’m eager to see where they go from here.
Duke King: You’re not the only one, Troy. I wonder who will be the first team in the new year to try and take the gold from them.
Skye Sparks: Whoever it is better come ready for the fight of their lives.
{Prior to the main event, after Kenzi entered the ring, she immediately rolled back outside and grabbed a microphone as she addressed the fans.}
Kenzi Grey-Lacklan: Over the last two weeks I have had to listen to everyone from people like JMC who are no longer in this company to Nova Sinclair tell me that my title isn’t nearly as important as other championships in this company. I was ready to pass that off as sour grapes…until the former Breakout Champion echoed that sentiment. I was surprised that she would think that, but that just fuels me to prove her wrong…up close and personal!
{Kenzi grabbed a chair and pulled it to ringside as she called to Etsuko to come on down and have a seat and watch the match.
The bell sounded with all four women staring at each other, until Gabby motioned for all three of her opponents to come and fight her. Crystal was the first and Kate and Kenzi followed, and they beat down Gabby in the corner, until Kenzi started pushing Kate and Crystal out of the way. Kate took Kenzi down and starting hitting right hands and Crystal followed up with some stomps. Gabby slowly got back to her feet and joined in as it was now a 3 on 1 beatdown of Kenzi. Kate tossed Kenzi to the floor and Crystal nailed her when she turned with a dropkick. Kate rolled to the apron as Gabby waistlocked Crystal and went for a German suplex, but Crystal backflipped and landed on her feet. Crystal kicked Gabby and tossed her into the ropes. Gabby ducked a clothesline and tried to spear Kate off the apron, but Kate springboarded into the ring, nailing Crystal with a dropkick as Gabby dove through the ropes, nailing a now standing Kenzi with a dive at the same time!
In the ring, Kate has Crystal covered, but Crystal kicks out at 2. Kate pulled Crystal to her feet and hit some hard forearms, before sending Crystal into the ropes and hitting a high leg clothesline. Kate covered again, but Gabby drug her out of the ring to break up the pinfall. Gabby entered and Crystal rolled her into a small package, but Gabby kicked out of that. Crystal hopped up and nailed a dropkick and then a hurricanrana into another pin, but Kenzi broke it up. Kenzi hit Crystal with some hard forearms and then a kick to the mid-section, and hit the ropes, looking for the Walk of Fame, but Kate tripped her from the outside. Kate pulled Kenzi out of the ring, and Crystal hit the ropes, nailing them both with a baseball slide! Crystal stood up and turned right into a Gabby discus clothesline! Gabby covered, but Crystal kicked out at 2. Kate meanwhile climbed to the top rope from the floor, and hit a big crossbody on Gabby, who rolled through, and placed Kate on her shoulders, looking for the Killzone, but Kate elbowed her way out. Kate pushed Gabby forward, right into a codebreaker from Kenzi. Kenzi made the cover, but Kate broke it up. Kate made the cover instead, but Kenzi quickly knocked her off and stomped Kate while she was trying to get up. Kenzi pulled Kate up and hit a suplex, floating into the cover, only to have it broken up by a Crystal low dropkick that caught Kenzi in the side of the head. Crystal then applied the Withering Rose [Liontamer] to Kenzi, and nearly had her tapping before Gabby broke it up. Gabby then nailed Crystal with a spine buster, and Kenzi walked into one as well. Gabby then pulled Kenzi into position and lifted her onto her shoulders, looking for the Killzone, but Kate broke it up, pulling Kenzi off and the two hitting a double back suplex on Gabby. Kate and Kenzi then both attempted the cover, but Crystal broke it up.
Crystal hit the flashing lights kick on Kenzi and climbed to the top rope, looking for the Lights, Camera, Action, but Kate pushed her off the top rope sending her sprawling to the floor. Gabby stood up and Kate connected with the wrap-around DDT. Kate then hoisted Kenzi up for the Punk Driver, but Kenzi wriggled free and hit her own DDT. On the outside, Gabby attempted to re-enter, but was stopped by Crystal, and the two battled on the apron. Crystal hit a kick that sent Gabby into the post, and Crystal charged on the apron, but Gabby lifted her and ended up crotching her on the top turnbuckle! Kenzi then charged, but Gabby caught her with a knee. Kate then charged and speared Gabby off the apron to the floor! Crystal fell of the turnbuckle into the ring, and Kenzi quickly hit the Walk of Fame and covered Crystal to get the surprising 3 count!}
{Kenzi is handed her championship from ringside and she mounts the turnbuckles, raising the belt over her head as she looks down at Etsuko, who slowly claps, nodding her head in appreciation of the new Breakout Champion’s efforts. Kenzi hops down as Etsuko quickly slides inside the ring. The two women face off, talking to one another as Etsuko reiterates her challenge to her. As Kenzi nods in acceptance, the crowd roars in anticipation. Etsuko claps as she takes Kenzi by her hand and raises it, pointing to the new champion as she presents her to the fans at each side of the ring in a show of sportsmanship.
Suddenly Etsuko turns and blindsides Kenzi with a short-arm clothesline. The fans boo as Etsuko quickly hoists up the champion, then plants her with the ''Mitzusaka Driver.'' Etsuko stands over Kenzi until The Cool Kids run down and she is forced to retreat, but not before dropping a red mask beside Kenzi. As Kenzi is helped up, she collapses down and picks up the mask and looks at it, taking note of the words S H A M E scrawled across the front. Kenzi glares through the ropes at Etsuko as she backs away, signaling that the championship is coming back to her as the show ends.}
