Candi: La la la, I like stuff!
The bubbly blond and pet to Naughty Girl, Katalina Star, sings her usual song of bliss while hopping up the steps of the cabin one stair at a time before nearly tripping over the last step stumbling to the door. Her efforts don't go unheard as the door opens and Domino stands there looking down at her ex-wife in surprise.
Domino: C-Candi! You shouldn't be here. You were exiled!
Candi: Silly Miss. Domino is silly. I didn't become a xylaphony, I became a lion! Rawr!
Hm, ordinarily people flinch when Candi does that. Oh well, she's not deterred any.
Candi: Is Lolli home???
Somehow, whenever Candi asks a question it comes out more...questiony. Just something with a little added pizzaz, I suppose.
Domino: Who? No, Candi, there's no one here by that name. Will you please go?
Candi: Aw. 'kay! Can ya give her a message???
Once more.
Domino: Candi, there--
Candi: Kitty Mistress saaaaaaaaaays...stop it.
Domino is about to say something until realizing who she means there. Suddenly, Domino has nothing to say as the blond taps a finger to her bottom lip.
Candi: Or...was that to me? I dunno, I just heard Kitty Mistress say she wished Lolli would stop.
Domino has to think for a bit on what that means before realizing. When she does, her face goes cold as stone and she takes a step back from the doorway.
Domino: No.
She says prior to closing the door in Candi's face as the blond is left standing there balancing from her heels to her toes for a bit.
Candi: Kay! I love you! Bye!
Candi waves and hops from the steps as Domino peers out through the living room window. Although her attention isn't to Candi but rather Twilight Manor. Thinking Candi might get herself noticed and have Sevah sent after her, Domino just waits. When she's clear that the blond's being here has gone unnoticed, she turns from the window and spots Etsuko standing there with a curious look about herself.
Domino: The next time you see Candi, if she's off her leash...
Domino starts up thinking where to go from here.
Domino: Break something for her trespassing.
From a decorated metal canister along the side of a wide array of candles comes a long match, which Etsuko clasps in between her two hands as if in prayer. Her head bows as in the background voices can be heard discussing a variety of matters. However, only one voice needs to be recognized here as the joshi begins to speak.
Etsuko: I pray to you, oh heavenly Goddess, your glistening eyes watching over us all.
No clues required on whom she means there.
Etsuko: I pray, that through this candle, you use the light to help guide the way for those that are blind.
Awfully nice of her. However, Etsuko doesn't light the candle yet, in fact she doesn't even strike the match. There's more at work here apparently.
Etsuko: Especially for one in particular. I have attempted, under multiple accounts, to show this person the manner of my actions and the magnitude of respect I hold for them. Yet, their eyes remain shrouded and their actions filled with malicious intent. They hate what I have done under their sheer inability to show acceptance.
Etsuko strikes up the match along the provided stone igniting the tip of the match, which she brings out toward one of the candles.
Etsuko: So, Red Lady, Goddess high above us all, I beseech unto thee,
Resting the match over the candle wick, Etsuko waits and watches until the flame begins to burn brighter signaling the transfer. When that's done, Etsuko brings the lit match back.
Etsuko: Light the path that Miss. Maki may see it more clearly.
Her prayer finished, Etsuko takes a short inhale then blows out the match.
Etsuko: You are a failure.
Etsuko begins this bit surrounded by red curtains in a tone most unsympathetic.
Etsuko: Miss. Kenzi, you are a failure for many reasons. I hope that you will indulge me the liberty of understanding them.
I doubt it but, hey, never know. Right?
Etsuko: You want greatness, you expect greatness for your deeds, and yet...you forget the hand that was offered out to you. The whispering of your name. When first we crossed paths, I offered you a spot under the Red Lady's banner. A chance for you to overcome your own problems. You did well on your own but you did not excel. Your victory for the Breakout Title was not your own, your victory over the other champions was quickly overlooked. But now, if you had listened, you would be feared and, more importantly, looked upon with great respect.
Etsuko says using a highly dissatisfied tone of voice.
Etsuko: Now you complain, now you seek the outside training, now you take the aid of outside persons.
The joshi pauses for a quick “tch” addition.
Etsuko: That is what irks me the most, Miss. Kenzi, that you would so proudly state the advice and inspiration you have been getting from your so-called friends. Individuals who only care when a problem is just presented to them are only saying such words so they can feel better. It is called pity, Miss. Kenzi, not help. Pity that these people give in effort to be done with your problems. Tell me; how many of these friends chipped in for your flight to see your trainer? How many have come with you to offer their moral support? How many have purchased event tickets to cheer you on from the front row?
She pauses, her expression not changing.
Etsuko: How many have just said good luck?
Feeling as though she's struck a chord, she lets it reverberate until things have calmed.
Etsuko: You cling to these late comers to your dilemma while ignoring the sign that was given to you when these problems first came to you. Before they came to you even. You fight against what can only make you better. You fight against something that has only destroyed those who look upon me as you do now. Names, faces, all people who were offered the gift of immortality. Do you even remember any of them? No, because one by one they were sacrificed. Left to wander aimlessly before even their footsteps in the sand of this company were all washed away.
Rather harsh visual, but Etsuko's only getting started.
Etsuko: And now you feel it too, the Curse of the Red Lady. You feel yourself becoming stagnant, that no matter how high you reach you are never allowed that ledge. You have plateaued, Miss. Kenzi. As with Miss. Orchid before you, you are seeing nothing but the horizon and setting of your career. Though it is not just you.
Kenzi's poor screen. Oh, not yet?
Etsuko: It is those closest to you. People who have been affected as well. Former friends, former allies have found themselves reaching as much as you while enemies of your past ascend to far greater heights. While those even closer, those you can physically touch...
Who does Etsuko...oh.
Etsuko: Look at her, Miss. Kenzi. Turn and look at her. It is by the will of the Red Lady that you now look down upon her. The Goddess did not get Herself involved, but she decreed that you suffer...so you have suffered.
Don't knock out the screen yet, Etsuko's not finished yet.
Etsuko: But the Red Lady is not without mercy, Miss. Kenzi, She will grant you another opportunity to erase the curse. You need not bow at the beginning of the match and surrender the Breakout Title, that will happen regardless of your efforts, but after this match you will bend a knee and accept the Red Lady as your beloved supreme being. You will fight for Her and from then on She will see fit that you are afforded every opportunity to prove your loyalty.
Etsuko's expression softens, though only a bit.
Etsuko: You will rise, you will find new glories, and when she accepts as well...your wife will rise as well.
That's...nice. Right?
Etsuko: Do not become like Miss. Orchid, someone who plateaued and refused to do anything about it. Give yourself to the Goddess. However,
Something else?
Etsuko: I am certain you are wondering why I should even fight for the Breakout Title if you could just present it to the Goddess yourself. Because I demand honor restored. You saw it against Miss. Clementine, you saw it against Miss. Maria. I am not a fluke champion.
That's really been bothering her?
Etsuko: I am now coming for you, Miss. Kenzi, I hope that I have proven to be a worthy enough challenge.
Watch the spite there, Etsuko, never know where Domino might be. Especially here. Is she behind the curtains? Is she holding the curtains? The camera?
Etsuko: That is what you wanted, was it not? Someone to prove to want what you have. I believe I have done that defeating both the unknown and my humiliation. So do not look outside of us to find your motivation, Miss. Kenzi, find it in me. Find it in my offering. Find it in the grace and love of the Red Lady.
Etsuko says slowly bringing up her arms before eyeing the camera once more.
Etsuko: Or find the end in the darkness as the mask of sacrifice is planted firmly across your face. Be ready for me, Miss. Kenzi.
Etsuko turns and the scene
fades in red.
Even though it was already all red to begin with. You get the idea.
