The sermon was set to come to a close, but as the clergyman had brought up during there was still one final piece of business. A blessing of sorts as he instructs the congregation to stand at the arrival of Etsuko Mitzusaka. All eyes fall upon the young joshi as she makes her way down the carpeted aisle between the rows of populated pews. Domino watches in silence before looking over into the first row to see how January is handling it. She fights the urge, but can't help but smile at the corner of her lips when she sees the caretakers knuckles turn a few shades lighter.
Etsuko arrives at the front of the church where she joins with the priest before lowering herself down to a knee bowing her head to the red curtains hanging from the rafters on high.
Etsuko: I am Etsuko Mitzusaka, Oni of the Red Lady, Her physical representation within the confines of Ladies All Star Wrestling. I have vanquished those that would question the will, sacrificed those that refused to see,
Etsuko appears to go on like this making certain all in attendance not only know of her accomplishments, but understand as well. There isn't anyone who says anything but no one more intent on listening to her words than one particular blond standing inside of the choir. She watches Etsuko, almost swaying some to her words as the new Breakout Champion works through her resume.
Following the definition of self, Etsuko brings up the newly retrieved Breakout Championship title belt in both hands as the priest turns toward the altar speaking in a loud, monotonic voice for all to hear and get through clearly.
Priest: Be removed sins of the past,
Turning back toward Etsuko, the priest sprinkles out some form of powder across the belts faceplate. Then, in a swirling motion, takes hold of a match striking it causing it to ignite. Planting that burning match head over the title, the powder breaks out into flame overtop of the belt as Etsuko continues to hold it.
Priest: Sins of the past burn out in the flame of baptismal fire.
He turns again taking a long rod and dipping it into a vat. Bringing that around, he doses the fire with some water that he in turns pours out along Etsuko's head.
Priest: And be reborn in the baptism of water.
The priest walks off to the side giving Etsuko centre stage once more as she lowers the wet belt down to the floor planting her hands alongside it as she furthers herself down into a bowing position.
Etsuko: Red Lady, Goddess who sees me through all, I present this offering. I take nothing for myself in this victory, I only wish to further serve. To further my standing. To further spread your influence.
Etsuko goes silent for a moment waiting for the large gong to be rung. When it does, she stands and turns leaving her gift behind.
Following the service, Etsuko approaches Domino looking somewhat thoughtful over something.
Etsuko: Miss. Domino, there is something I wish for myself.
Three ribbon strands hang off the side of Etsuko's arm all tied at her bicep, all in red with metal tips but each written with their own name.
Etsuko: Miss. Orchid, Miss. Kenzi, Miss. Maki. Names of those who made the attempt and names of those who simply found themselves failures in the end. Miss. Kenzi, Miss. Orchid, wondrous careers you have both had and sure enough you will go far. But meeting myself, that path will not take you far here. As you are both gone now, I feel no need to fluff out any opinions on the two of you.
Makes...sense. Though there's still one more there that doesn't exactly fit in tune with the others.
Etsuko: Miss. Maki, I claim sole ownership over your failure. You wanted your chance at me, you were given your chance at me, I accepted your chance at me...but it is because of that that you leave. That you run. If it is not...you still hold your chance. For now, it is time for Miss. Farrah.
Etsuko pauses tilting her head along to the left side.
Etsuko: I applaud your efforts, Miss. Farrah, they have been...enlightening. The longest tag team reigning champion in this company's history and every day with the belts now only breaks the record further. That is admirable, commendable even. Take the moment to congratulate yourself for Miss. Zahara's work.
Etsuko pauses a bit to allow for Farrah to do just that. Only...
Etsuko: Did I say Miss. Zahara? Did I mean Miss. Zahara? Yes, Miss. Farrah, yes I did. Allow me first to say; you are more than welcome to try and prove me wrong on this. It is just...I am curious over what evidence would exist to showcase this. Because,
Turning away for a moment, Etsuko returns with a printed out sheet of paper.
Etsuko: You entered the business as Miss. Zahara's personal camera woman. It took a bit until you spoke your first words and even longer until you finally showed yourself on screen at which point you began to handle...a fan club. Do not think it was anything different, Miss. Farrah, even your social media realm of speaking out was nothing more than stating any upcoming events for Miss. Zahara.
Her eyes had been on the camera that last little bit, now they focus back on the sheet.
Etsuko: When you did get into the ring it was as Miss. Zahara's partner and since then...you have been Miss. Zahara's partner.
Finished with the sheet now Etsuko places it aside out of camera's view.
Etsuko: So tell me, in that time when have you accomplished anything of your own accord? Even your children are not your own. There is nothing, Miss. Farrah, that you have accomplished that you can personally lay claim to. It is Boardwalk Angels or Miss. Zahara.
Etsuko falls silent a moment as though attempting to think something out.
Etsuko: Sad is all I can say about you. Not even pathetic because in that instance I might feel pity for you. Now that your “legacy” has been thoroughly entrenched in mud by your own lack of actions, you should know how you can change it. It is the same advice I give to everyone. Because come our own match in a few days...I will not give pause. I am the in ring representation of the Red Lady. I am the Oni of the Red Lady and you will not find your legacy beginning with me.
Etsuko tilts her head up a little.
Etsuko: But you will find your guidance.
She says as the scene
fades in red.
Two hours earlier...
Domino and Etsuko arrive at the First Church while everyone is still massed together outside in conversation over their daily events since the last time they've gotten together. Some make their way in as the choir sings to pass up the time and among those heading in earlier is Etsuko, needing to speak with the priest about the coming ritual. After seeing her off, Domino looks around spotting January standing next to Sevah doing her best to appear...pleasant. Finding the efforts an enjoyable sight, Domino approaches her ex.
Domino: Hail the grace upon thee, Caretaker of Twilight Manor.
Domino delivers a brief curtsy with her white gown as January remains silent.
Domino: I'm sure you've heard that we're to have the ritual this sermon. Etsuko, my charge, has accomplished both of her tasks in regaining her honor and status. Will the Caretaker be willing to speak at the event?
January tightens up her jaw glancing around at those in attendance. The simple followers, ones who only took the word of the Goddess to heart. Ones who might find great offense if January were to let loose what was truly on her mind. So she keeps it in and maintains her position. At the very least she still had that over her former lover.
January: No, this moment shall belong to your charge. But the eyes of the Red Lady will be upon her now. Don't make them witness failure.
Domino: They won't.
Domino smiles and turns going into the church leaving January to glower at her from behind.

Two hours earlier...
The choir continues to sing welcoming those into First Church when Etsuko enters. Almost immediately, a few set of eyes hit on the joshi who carries with her the newly won title belt. A handful understood the significance of it while others, who weren't into the sport or that side of the religion, just saw it as some undefinable status symbol. Sort of like anyone who doesn't know about Star Trek seeing Worf for the first time. It wasn't something to question or mock, it was just...symbolic. As it happens, their break comes when Etsuko is still waiting for her audience with the priest and so the blond from the choir goes up to the joshi with cheeks red and hands slightly fidgeting at the front of her.
Choirgirl: Um...
Etsuko turns looking the girl over who seems to immediately regret the decision in coming over as she glances back at her friends. None of them gesture her over having their own opinions of what was going on. Finally, she manages to look back at Etsuko and works up the courage to smile.
Choirgirl: Con...gratulations on your victory, Etsuko, may it grace the Goddess' heart.
Etsuko: I am hoping it will.
Etsuko's immediate response leaves the choir girl without much time to think of how to further the conversation. Even the joshi's tone suggested she had little else to offer in ways of talking. So, the choir girl takes the loss and turns.
Etsuko: You are here every sermon.
Choirgirl: Yes!
She yells turning back around startling the joshi some even. When the noise of giggles from her friends come over her, the blond steadily begins to calm down.
Choirgirl: S-sorry.
Etsuko: Accepted. Although, my words were not a question.
Etsuko says before hearing her own name coming from the priest. It was time to go over the ritual so Etsuko bows her head to the woman she brought into the fold and takes her leave. The young woman staggers back surprised by what she had been told. Essentially, it meant Etsuko had been noticing her as well.
