SCENE 1: Nashville Tennessee (02/25/2018)
Elizabeth Blackwell is not happy. Not happy at all. She is shaking her head, still feeling the effects of Roxy’s Muff Driver as she walks down the hall, headed for the locker room. She is disappointed in herself that she took her eyes off of Roxy for a moment. It was all Roxy needed to put her away. Now she has the first loss of her career and failed to bring home the championship. She knows it is back to the end of the line now and another long climb to another shot. She goes into the locker room and kicks the bench in anger. She goes straight for the locker with her street clothes when Annie walks up behind her.
{Annie Fugate}
Now, do you know why you lost?
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
Just shut up already, I’m not in the mood.
Annie’s eyes narrow as Elizabeth starts pulling out her street clothes. Annie grabs her by the arm and spins her around to face her.
{Annie Fugate}
Excuse me little girl, what did you just say to me?
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
I told you to shut up. All you do is sit back here and criticize me. You knew that Maxine would be out there to help Roxy. Where were you? You are suppose to be my manager but you have yet to go out to ringside with me.
{Annie Fugate}
So you want me to go hold your hand at ringside. Be out there to babysit you the entire match?
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
No it would just be nice to know you actually have my back. You know that we are actually friends and I’m not just a pawn in your little game against the Frost Elite.
{Annie Fugate}
How dare you say something like that to me. You know how much I’ve done for you? I took you in. I used my time to train you and get you ready for action when all you had was a graduation certificate from Christy Chaos’ little school. You’d be wrestling in a pool hall somewhere if it wasn’t for me. So you better show me some gratitude.
The two girls are having a bit of a standoff, glaring into each other’s eyes. Finally Elizabeth looks away, walking over and sitting down on the bench. Annie just follows her with her eyes. Elizabeth takes a few deep breaths to calm herself down.
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
I know what I did wrong. I took my eyes off of Roxy for a split second and she capitalized on it. Guess I still have a lot to learn.
{Annie Fugate}
You do have a lot to learn. And that’s what I want you to do. I could go out to the ring with you every match and use some dirty tactics to help you win. But you won’t learn anything that way. And you won’t be ready for Mizore or Maya when they show up here. I don’t go out there because it’s better for you to win or fail on your own. So get all bent out of shape at me that you want, I’m doing it for your own good.
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
Would you be out there for me if I really needed you? Say I got jumped by two or three people, would you help me or would you let me take a beating for “training” purposes.
{Annie Fugate}
Of course I’d help you. It doesn’t do my plans any good if you get injured. Other than that you need to realize that you are on your own out there. And you need to find a way to win when you are on your own. You will rebound and get another title shot. And next time you will win it. Now if you are through pouting like a baby, get dressed. I’ll take you for a piece of cake.
Annie walks out of the room. Annie looks after her, still not looking happy.
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
It better be a big piece.
SCENE 2 Rapid Falls, SD (03/10/2018)
Elizabeth is back at her father’s house in Rapid Falls on this chilly Saturday morning. The TV is showing the Queens Park Rangers against Sunderland football game. Her father Dave is wearing his QPR jersey and drinking from the cup she got him for Christmas. Elizabeth is wearing one of his older QPR shirts, it slightly faded. She is on her phone though, checking out wrestling moves on Youtube. Annie wants her to expand her move set a bit. She keeps glancing up at the TV every few moments before going back to her phone. She looks up in time to see one of Sunderland’s players get ejected with a red card. Elizabeth gives a bit of a smile.
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
Red card. That’s where the player is ejected from the game. Maybe that’s what I can call my superkick. The Red Card. What do you think dad?
{Dave Blackwell}
Doesn’t most of your moves have some kind of theme to them? How will you make that fit?
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
Hello dad. Red hair. That’s why I call my finisher the Seeing Red. Of course that’s not a new move like Annie wants me to find.
{Dave Blackwell}
Am I ever going to meet this girl? You spend a lot of time traveling with her and training with her, I find it strange that you still haven’t brought her over with you to meet me.
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
I dunno dad. She always wants to go back to Nevada between shows when we aren’t traveling for LAW. I guess if we ever have a show close by here I might talk her into coming over.
{Dave Blackwell}
GOOOOAL!
Her dad lets out a big yell as QPR scores a goal. Elizabeth almost drops her phone with the sudden outburst from her father. He leans forward and holds out his hand to her and she high fives him with a smile. She loves how excited he gets over his team, maybe even more than she does with her Vikings. She goes back to her phone and searches through moves as her father cheers for his team. It is then that she sees someone perform a big swing. She saw it once before and even mentioned on her Twitter what she could call it. She pretty much decided on the Nightmare Vortex. Figures it would dizzy her opponent and give her a perfect chance at nailing the Seeing Red right afterward. She glances up at her dad.
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
Hey dad. You wouldn’t say I got dizzy easily would you?
{Dave Blackwell}
You? You go on every ride at the amusement park and never even got sick once. Why do you ask?
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
Well I was thinking of adapting a big swing into my move set. It’s where I grab my opponents legs and swing them around the ring. The fans really love it. I just don’t want to risk making myself dizzy doing it.
{Dave Blackwell}
I think you’ll be alright. But I thought you were a bad guy. Are you supposed to be looking for moves to please the fans?
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
It’ll be alright. Just because they don’t like me doesn’t mean I can’t give them a treat. Guess I just need to make sure Annie is okay with it. She does have the final word.
{Dave Blackwell}
Don’t let her run your life too much kid. You do have a mind of your own.
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
Yes but she’s a season veteran of wrestling and a multi time champion. I need to take her advice if I ever plan to be half as good as she is.
The game comes to an end with Queens Park Rangers winning one to nothing. Dave stands up and stretches as Liz watches him with a smile.
{Dave Blackwell}
Well I think it’s about time we go grab some breakfast.
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
But dad Chelsea is about to play. Don’t you want to watch and cheer them on?
This is her dad’s least favorite team in the world. He gives her a mean look as she tries to hide her smile.
{Dave Blackwell}
You know it’s not too late to send you back to the orphanage.
They both chuckle as Elizabeth closes her phone and stands up. They grab his keys and head out the door for lunch as the scene cuts out.
SCENE 3 Undisclosed (03/11/2018)
The scene opens up to blackness. The only sound that can be heard is the light jingle of a cat’s collar. A light flickers on, casting a dim glow on the room which has empty cages along the walls that look like they may have contained animals of some kind at one point. Elizabeth is center stage, holding up a pink cat collar that she is barely shaking to make it jingle.
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
Here kitty kitty kitty. Nice kitty. Good kitty.
Soft kitty. Warm kitty,little ball of fur. Happy kitty sleepy kitty purr purr purr
Soft kitty. Warm kitty,little ball of fur. Happy kitty sleepy kitty purr purr purr
Elizabeth flicks the collar hard against the wall, knocking the bell off of it.
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
I like animals as much as the next girl but I’m not in a very good mood right now. You see, I lost to Roxy Cotton in my first ever title match. Well I actually lost to her and Maxine since she needed help to beat me. The great Chaos champion needing help to beat this little rookie. She will get hers in due time. All I can do is keeping pushing forward. And that moves me to my match this week against Seleana Zdunich. Trying saying that name five times fast.
The light flickers and now Elizabeth is standing in front of one of the cages, admiring the bars on it. Inside is a stuffed cat.
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
This is you Seleana. You may not be able to see the bars but you are a caged animal. Because that is what we all are in this business. Caged animals sent out to perform for the fans. And with you the girlfriend and student of Crystal Hilton, you are even more under the spotlight. You see I might have to live up to the reputation of Annie but it isn’t one that is well known here. It really won’t take me long to set up my own reputation here. But the better that Crystal is, the more you are going to have to work to keep up. Because the fans are always just going to see you as her girl. Does the caged kitty sing?
The light flickers again and now Elizabeth is sitting on top of one of the bigger cages, dangling her legs off the side.
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
You see Seleana, we are both new here. Starting not far off from each other. And we are both hungry to prove ourselves. Guess I could use the old proverb that if we’d met at a different time and place, we might have been friends. But we are not friends. We are not enemies. We are not rivals. We are nothing. What I am is a hungry young women looking for championship gold. And what you are is fresh meat, thrown on the grill. You will not stand in my way. We will put on a great match for the fans. But there is a difference between us that slides everything in my favor. Both of your finishers need a bit of set up. Seeing Red comes out of nowhere. And I just need one of them to put you away and get back on the winning track.
The light flickers again and Elizabeth is on the side of the room, looking up at some chart.
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
With Kenzi Grey leaving, it leaves a big opening on the top of the pecking order. And the waters around here are about to get that much more dangerous. Does the little kitty have the claws to fight for her survival? Specially when her little girlfriend is one of the sharks swimming the waters? I don’t have anyone I care about to get in my way Seleana. Can you say the same? Because I believe that is your true nightmare. The fact that you won’t live up to Crystal’s standards. That she might wake up one day and figure out that you just aren’t good enough for her. There is plenty of women around here that would not only be a better match for her but would take her off your hands in a heartbeat. Do you fear falling and ending up all alone? Well in that case, your nightmare begins on Law when you fall to me. Did you know that cats sleep about sixteen hours a day. That’s plenty of time for me.
The light flickers and now Liz is standing right in front of the camera so her full face is the scene.
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
To welcome you to your nightmare.
The light flickers again and Elizabeth disappears. Now all the cages are actually full of live cats. They meow out to the camera before the light flickers and goes out entirely.
SCENE 4 Baton Rouge, LA (03/11/2018)
We are back in the locker room as Law is a very hours away from starting. Elizabeth has changed into her ring gear of the black pants with red flames at the bottoms and the red tube top shirt. She is lacing up her boots as Annie comes into the room, looking over some paperwork.
{Annie Fugate}
Just so you know I still doubt I’ll come out to the ring with you. You can deal with Selena and Crystal on your own.
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
I’m not worried about that. Crystal doesn’t seem to be the type to interfere in the match. I think I will get a far match out of her. I’m looking forward to it, she seems to be pretty good. I’m hoping to learn more from her during our match.
{Annie Fugate}
Got to know though, where’d you get all of those cats?
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
My aunt has a farm down in Texas with lots of strays running around. It wasn’t hard to gather them up and set up my little scene. Most of them were happy for the attention.
{Annie Fugate}
Still say you should have hurt one of them. Really send a message to Seleana.
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
I’m not going to hurt some poor little kitty just to send a message. I’m not as heartless as you. What are you looking at.
Annie smirks as she sets the paper down on the table.
{Annie Fugate}
You remember that Lord of Trios tournament that your buddy Mizore fought in last week.
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
Yeah she got her ass kicked by the Court. Great night.
{Annie Fugate}
Well it seems that she signed a full time contract with them.
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
Wait I thought she’d come to LAW with Maya? How am I supposed to get my hands on her now.
{Annie Fugate}
I’m glad you asked. It seems this Unified Global Wrestling is about to have a sideshow open to anyone from any other fed. I say we represent this LAW and go wreck some havoc when the time is right. Pay your little friend a visit.
{Elizabeth Blackwell}
Sounds good to me boss. Guess that means you need to finally come off the bench and get back in the ring. Don’t want to deal with them cold.
{Annie Fugate}
All in good time kid. Now go put the little cat down. I’ll be watching.
Elizabeth stands up and heads out of the room. Annie picks up the paper on the bench that is revealed to be a LAW contract. She starts filling it out as the scene fades away.
