Scene One-Alpha Omega
Off Camera
Las Vegas, Nevada
A year and a half ago
She sat on the floor. The hardwood floor. Her legs curved under her body, her long blonde hair flowed down her body that was covered in a white wedding dress. A cheap makeshift nothing dress Chris had picked up from some random store on the vegas strip. It had been three hours since they got married. A small ceremony in their backyard hastily thrown together with a celebrant who worked for one of those drive thru chapels. Alicia’s mind flashed back to that moment.
She had got in her jeep and driven off, the anger she felt at what her marriage had become. The pain from Chris’ lies and cheating, the fact she was petty enough to take revenge and sleep with one his his best friends. The anger coursed through her veins as she sped down and out into the desert. After a few hours she had come back, fully intending to pack her bags, or his...in the end one of them was going to leave that night. But as she drove up the driveway to the small three bedroom house she had bought with her first big paycheck she noticed something…
There were other cars parked outside, on the lawn, around the side. Alicia had walked through the house ready to rip Chris apart, ready to throw her engagement ring at him and scream and tell him to leave. That is what she wanted and needed. Their relationship was toxic, she was too young and petty, he was a liar and a notorious horndog. It just didn’t work, she knew it, others knew it. Even Chris knew it. But instead of accepting it he had pulled this, his trump card. Alicia’s cousin and father were there, their friends and coworkers, lights had been set up and effort put in. Alicia went through with it, the moment being to much.
But now here she was, the well wishers had gone home. The house was silent and Chris was asleep. Alicia had a moment to herself, alone with her thoughts and true feelings. And that’s when the silence itself became deafening….
Her head ached, her body did too, the length of the day hit her as hard as the realisation that she had made a grave mistake. A complete fuckup and error in judgement. And now as she sat there alone on her floor that feeling came over her. The same one that was around her, squeezing the life out of her years ago when she was with Ronnie. The abuse she suffered was nothing when weighed against the feeling of being trapped, the walls closing in. The feeling of imprisonment. And that is what the ring on her finger meant, the gesture of “love” that had been pushed on her like a form of abuse and control.
Her mind flashed back to standing in that bathroom, the hot water running, the razor in her hand, the feeling of wanting to simply be free. She had the urge to get up, grab her keys and just leave. Take off again. Back to Japan, back to where she was free from the feeling of being caged and locked down. But her boys, she had abandoned them once, walked away from them. And the shockwave that it sent through her life was still being felt today. Ronnie had them, she could only visit them and have her sons a week every month spread out over weekends.
No, not this time. She had to stay strong, she had to stay in the bed she had made, the life she had somehow been held into. Alicia Lukas was not going to run away again. She pushed herself up off the floor moving through the house. Her hands moving around to unzip the dress which was three sizes too big pushing it down and off, she threw it over the back of the chair and stood in her kitchen, barefoot in her underwear staring out into the night. She reached over to the half empty bottle of Jack Daniels, she spun the lid and turned it upside down pouring it into her mouth taking down three large mouthfuls before slamming the bottle down on the kitchen counter…
“Fuck it…”
Scene Two-Will you?...

New Year’s Eve
“Ali?” Michaels voice went through the hallway as he stood in a black tuxedo. His wavy brown hair framing his handsome features as his trimmed beard curled around his lips that moved into a nervous smile. His deep brown eyes darted back and forth as he waited near the door of their home. There was still no answer as he laughed to himself hearing a few crashing noises in the bathroom. “Alicia are you alright?” His voice was a little louder, but still soft and calm, only a hint of a wavering nervous energy underneath.
“I’m fine!, sorry!..” Alicia seemed out of breath as the door opened and she stepped out. Her hair was done up and to one side, her makeup showcased her big blue eyes and her soft pouty lips that were covered in a red lipstick that matches her dress. A long flowing strapless gown with a slit up one side, black high heeled shoes made small clicking noises as they touched the hardwood floor of the hallway leading out. Michael stood in awe, his jaw dropped as his eyebrows raised. Alicia looked down making sure her dress was straight, her black handbag finding her right hand as she looked up to find her speechless boyfriend.
“Is, is there something wrong?” Alicia panicked for a moment, her hands shaking a little as Michael seemed to snap out of it, he laughed to himself and leaning in close kissing her lips softly, as he pulled back Alicia blushed and let out a deep breath realising it was all fine. “Nothing could ever be more right than seeing you right now. You’re gorgeous Alicia.” She looked down and bit her lip squeezing his hand. She cleared her throat and looked at the door. “We should probably get going….we have a party to attend and clients of yours to wow…” Michael laughed again and moved his hand lightly across her cheek.
“I think them seeing you in that dress will wow them way more than any boring business proposals I could have.” She made a face and giggled under her breath as she kept his hand in hers and went for the door, Michael’s hand slid into his pocket and he stopped causing Alicia to slowly turn around. She tilted her head and smiled slightly looking at his pale face. “What is it?” He took a deep breath and squeezed something in his pocket before looking down at Ali. The light moved and danced in her eyes as he stepped closer.
“I was going to do this later.” He swallowed hard and kissed her again, this time with even more passion and love, Alicia melted in his arms as his right hand moved down her bare shoulder. “I was going to do this as the clock struck midnight, in front of a lot of people. But this moment...I want it to be just ours…” Alicia shook a little as the butterflies rose in her stomach, her heart raced and felt as if it was going to burst from her chest as it heaved up and down. Michael slowly dropped to one knee and slid his left hand from his pocket holding a small black and red ring box.
Alicia took a sharp breath in as she tried to keep it together, Michael looked up as his hands shook and his eyes stared right into hers almost looking into her heart. He pulled the top of the box open revealing a beautiful white gold diamond engagement ring. Alicia swallowed hard and made a small squeaking noise as Michael tried to keep his voice strong. “Violet Maxwell.” She didn’t even flinch at him using her birth name, others said it in mocking tones with venom designed to make her angry. Michael said it with love and affection.
“You and I have been through a journey, we found each other and you repaired me just as much as I did you…” He paused for a moment rubbing the back of her hand with his thumb, a small chuckle coming from deep down as Alicia started struggled not to cry. “But the journey has only just started, and I want you by my side for all of it. The ups and downs, highs and lows...Violet...will you marry me?” The words were barely out of Michael’s mouth as Alicia blurted out her answer “YES!”
Michael stood up and Alicia wrapped her arms around his neck, he laughed again and pushed the ring on her finger, Alicia kissed him over and over again before taking a deep breath to calm down. A beep is heard as Michael turned to look outside as the large black car that sat out front, he gave a small nod grabbing Alicia’s jacket sliding it on leading her out the door.
Scene Three-Til I die
On Camera
Washington D.C
Present Day
“Oh Gabby Gabby Gabby….”
Alicia smiles to herself and looks up slowly through the veil of blond hair that had become one of her many trademarks. The cute half faded southern accent, the black smear of warpaint under her eye. The trucker caps and leather jackets. All of it had become a brand. And that brand was success.
“For everything you’ve done for LAW. For the eyes you have brought to the company, for the accolades you have gathered and kept you seem to care way to much about what others say. I mean I can get very angry at misconceptions and out and out lies certain woman say about me. But after I cut my promo last week I sat and waited to see what you’d say. And low and behold eventually I was graced with wise words from the champion herself. And for the most part it was what I expected. A review of your matchy with Sam Tolson, a few choice words for me. All framed in a well written and executed blog.”
“Something you seem to take offense to people critisising you for. Truthfully I don’t care what form of comunication you use to get your opinions across and promote our match. You could use your blog, cut a promo on a wecbam, pay a production team to do an elaborate backdrop and get proper lighting, post a live stream to facebook or youtube...shit you could use tout for all I care. I just want you to promote the match. I just want you to hype it and make it mean something.”
“You know, what Sam Tolson failed to do….”
“See you gave her props because against you, in a title match for all the marbles Sam came at you with fire and venom. She tore you down verbally and laughed and went on about how she was a star all around the world and you were just a star in LAW. Points I don’t agree with and an opinion I believe to be rather lacking in scope and any validity. I said it before and I will say it time and time again, in this company you are the measuring stick….”
“But you seem to not be at your best…”
Alicia sighed heavily and shook her head stepping forward as her arms crossed over her black and red t-shirt.
“You let peoples comments about your little blog get under your skin, you showed Sam Tolson respect when last week after you beat her she couldn’t even be bothered to do what you have and talk about the match. She disrespected me, she ignored me. That is the biggest load of crap I have ever seen. While she was meant to face me in LAW a company she was just given a shot to be THE champion of she stayed silent. She talked about her wedding, she talked about other companies but against me?. Against me there was nothing….”
“But you?. You came out guns blazing but seemed to not be the regular Gabby Camacho we see week in and week out. You talked me up like a world beater, went on about how I was a star in different companies, after I myself said unlike Tolson I don’t use what I did in other places to make me seem like a big deal here. But it’s nice to know you have been keeping an eye on me, it’s nice to know you were atleast smart enough to do your research and it is a validation about my hard work. Hell I was there with everything you had to say, my heart filling with joy at the smount of respect a champion like yourself had given me...right up until you talked about my LAW career…”
“Namely...my loss to Crystal Hilton….”
“I gave Crystal so much anger and vitrol verbage. Over and over again I questioned her resolve and her commitment to wrestling. I said she was so focused on being a multimedia star like Kenzi Grey and Crystal angrilly got in the ring and she gave me her all and on that night she showed the world Crystal Hilton is still a force in wrestling when she’s focused and actually cares about all this….”
“You want to harp on about the one loss I’ve had. The first title opportunity and I failed. Unlike others I actually live up to my losses, I respect those who have beaten me and as I have said, each loss is a lesson. I didn’t just get a shot at Crystal, lose and then hang my head in shame like some kind of sad emotionally deficiant puppy….”
“No, I lost to Crystal, applauded her skill and her determination, thanked her for the lesson then got in the ring with the last woman you beat, while you took the week off to do god knows what and I beat Sam Tolson into the ground. I walked into that ring for a match that I was excited and ready for, I beat Sam and all she could do was shake my hand and walk away because she wanted to go play happy happy wife. I’m getting married at the beginning of may, I’m still making dates, I’m still working towns, I am still going to the gym day after day and eating right, I am still a professional wrestler and I will still do what needs to be done so do not…”
“DO….NOT…”
“Discount me in this company Gabby. See you had a chance to show me what kind of champion you are and I’m sure you are an amazing talent but I read each word you put in your little blog and I couldn’t help but feel like it was a condescending piece of crap written in a half assed way because since I lost to Crystal you think I’m trash…”
Alicia scoffs and laughs under her brath the arrogance growing as she steps forward.
“You know as well as I do that being a champion puts a huge target on your back. And judging by your record you enjoy being hunted. You enjoy the challenge. I admit that I can say things out of turn, that I talk big bit you have to realise for the most part I back it up. I always show proper respect to those who have proven their worth, I always show heart and determination in that ring. And now after losing to Crystal and beating Sam I am right back to where I should be. I haven’t gone backwards I have kept myself in a position that matters…”
“I mean really Gabby, when was the last time someone came into LAW, went through some of the best of the best and earned a shot at you. I mean title shot or not who cares it’s a shot at the champion. A chance for me to get in that ring with a woman who will be an LAW hall of famer and test myself. Face it Gabby, I didn’t just dip my toe in the pool of LAW or dive in headfirst. I didn’t just open the door to this company…”
“I kicked it down….”
“La Bord Dieu, Kenzi Grey, Maki, Tolson. Two of those have held LAW gold. Two of those are women who are gunning for you cause you and I both know Tolson will step back in LAW claiming herself to be the best and beg, and bitch and moan till she gets handed a title shot, cause that’s what she does. And Maki walked, frenchie got shown up as all puff and Kenzi?....”
“I love Kenzi but all she did was prove to me she is everything I said she was. She “retired” she walked away and then when she got bored she came strolling back to get in your face. Now, I don’t know if or when I’ll get a title shot at you. I could beat you or put up a great showing and earn a shot, I could fail miserably. Truth is Camacho I have no idea what is going to happen. I have never been a woman to sit back and think about “game plans” cause in the last 7 years of doing this for a living I have learned, everyone has a plan till they get punched in the mouth…”
“And at LAW 79, when we walk into Fort Worth Texas I am going to walk down to that ring, step in b etween the ropes. Look you right in the eye. Smile, nod in respect...and then punch you right in the goddamn mouth. And when the fust settles and we know who on that night was the better woman I will take your hand, I will shake it and then go from there. Whether my path leads to another title opportunity, this time at you, a rematch with Crystal or Sam….I never stop, I don’t just walk away and like you I claw and pull my way to the top, you need to get used to the idea of seeing me around Gabby…”
“Cause I ain’t leaving….”
