Okay guys and girls, it's been whispered in my ear by some folks that perhaps, a deadline change is needed. More specifically, that we should go to a 1 week deadline, meaning that 1 rp per week if you plan to do 2. This would make life easier for everybody, rather than everyone scrambling to do 2 on the last two days. Basically, from Sunday to Sunday, you have one week to rp IF you plan to do 2. Now, you can always post 1 week 1, and not do a second on the 2nd week.
This is merely a suggestion, now a rule, yet. I would like people opinions on the matter, before I make any decisions.
I agree wit this. Sometimes i felt anxious especially earlier when I joined about when my opponent would post. I'd get mine out that first week then like have to wait and wait and wait until they decided to post and i could respond back. I got to the point procrastinating until Friday/Saturday before i did my first just to see if my opponent would post first. That would also cut down on sandbagging and I know I've been guilty of it myself but not proud of it.

We have talked about this before and I think that it STINKS! LOL No...I think that this is a good idea for the purposes of just generating interest in storylines. Everyone knows that I am not a fan of waiting for the last minute to post, simply because there is no dialog and there is no time to generate interest. Personally, I have tried my best to post something the first week to get a flow for what I do the second week.
Now, like you said...there is no need to post twice and I know a lot of people don't. That is completely fine...and waiting for that second week is fine as well. I'll be the first to say, real life always comes first...and this is only a game. That being said, for people who are only interested in getting wins and whatnot...a single rp can certainly beat two...if that is the only thing that you care about.
For me...it is about the story and it is an opportunity to collaborate. Most times when I have a match, I ask my opponent if they want to do something together to push the match or to drive some character development. This goes a ways towards that in my opinion.
That being said...I also know that there are people out there who absolutely do not like people responding to or picking apart their rps with a 'response' rp. While I personally love nothing more than a mention in someone's rp and getting run down for what I said or did...others may not. The feelings and the reasons why vary, so I won't knock them since they have reasons to feel that way. To them, I will say this...I have been in this game a long time and I have seen it all. You are going to see that time and time again, no matter where you go or what you do. It is a method for building heat, granted not the only one. So long as it is in-character, it is not a foul or a personal attack. I have had some vicious characters in my time, and that is a part of who and what they are. Just as they attacked an opponent for what they said in a rp, they also responded to attacks that they received and I used it to drive character development or change.
The bottom line is that I like this idea, but I also concur with the fact that there is no need to post twice. If deadlining is your thing, then you don't have to change at all. Know that you can just post once or combine your two rps into one. I think that the majority of people will not have a problem with this, but I do want to say this up front, if you have a different opinion, it is certainly not wrong. Maybe you have a point that none of us have thought of. I strongly encourage you to respond to this thread and make your point as well. The point of this is to get a vibe on the subject, not to attack anyone's point of view. If anyone does that, I am sure that management will set them straight...or the masses will give them a good beat down for their close mindedness!
