"The Rundown" Episode 2 (LAW #38)

THE RUNDOWN

The scene opened yet again inside the massive theater room where Kenzi Grey and Alizé Platinum were sitting side by side in their overstuffed theater seats. This time, both girls have their feet up as a pair of women in white aprons buff and paint their toe nails. Kenzi giggles as she wiggles her feet, “HEY! That tickles! Be careful down there!”

She picks up the remote and looks over at Alizé, “You ready to relive all the epic goodness of LAW 38?” She smiles as she keys the play button and the huge screen comes to life as the opening of the show plays. As Jenn Drew appears on the screen, they both cheer, though Jenn seems to be anything but happy as she tells the fans how displeased she is by the fact that she is unable to challenge for any titles after her loss to Keira Fisher.

Kenzi looks over at Alizé, “Keira is a piece of shit for doing that to Jenn! She put all that pressure on her! It was probably all Bliss’s fucking idea! I am so glad that ignorant slut is gone! Mama Vi put that skank in her place…so maybe now this place will be run correctly!”

“If I was Jenn, I’d take that Breakout title from Fisher and beat her ass senseless with it until they revoked that stupid stip she had.”

“OUCH!!!” Al said as the woman working on her foot got kicked by her after causing a small bit of pain to her. “Watch what the fuck you’re doin’ you butcher!”

Kenzi snickered at Alizé as she laid the bad mouth on the girl giving her the pedicure. “If you trimmed those damn claws more often, she wouldn’t need bolt cutters to get those nails off!” Alizé smiled as she flipped Kenzi off and she burst into a fit of laughter.

Both girls grew quiet as they realized that their segment was next. Kenzi pulled her feet back as she waved to the woman, “HEY! You are going to want to watch this…for real!”

The woman, who was obviously a foreigner who spoke very little English, stared at Kenzi in confusion. Kenzi pointed at the screen and the woman turned to watch. Kenzi laughed as Alizé came within inches of running down Carmen Diaz. “Stupid ass Carmen! You should have hit her ass and run down Roxi too! That would go a long way to making this place livable!”

“You know you almost run over people to often it kind of loses it’s fun. How many times do I have to almost take Roxi out….” Al put a hand to her mouth as she had a slip of the tongue. “I mean someone has to run her bony ass over before she realizes she best served if she take that psycho bitch wife of hers and just left LAW.”

Al looked at Kenzi. “You know if Carmen is legal or not? I think we need to get my boy Trump on the case to check her Green Card.”

Kenzi laughed as she shook her head. “I have no idea…but that explains why she was missing from Carmen’s Corner! I bet they caught that bitch working without her damn papers!” Kenzi put her feet back down and snapped her fingers to get the woman’s attention. “Okay…back to work homegirl!”

As the next match started, Kenzi grew quiet. She watched in silence as Alex took the match to her opponent in a way that she had never seen before. She didn’t know if she was to blame or not, but it bothered her to see it. She picked up the remote to fast forward the match. “Lets just get on past this…”

Al reached over and snatched the remote away from Kenzi before she passed up the match. “Woah, this was some good shit Kenz, no forwarding pass this.”

Al reversed the match to the beginning and pushed play as the action started. A small grin crossed her face. “Man I didn’t know the little pacifist had it in her. She’s beatin’ that bitch down like she stole somethin’.”

She turned to Kenzi. “You’re lil’ side piece got the devil in her. And here I thought I would have to try to turn her out. Looks like you’ve done it all on your own. Mad props girl.” She said giving Kenzi a smirk, but noticing the young woman wasn’t in a joking matter.

Kenzi remained quiet, having no jokes or witty comebacks this time. She kicked the woman away from her feet. “OKAY! I’m good…just be out, okay?!” The woman looked at her partner and shrugged as she stood up and gathered her supplies as she left. Kenzi sighed, shaking her head until the next match came on.

Kenzi sat up, watching Gabby with pointed interest as Willow battled her in a very good back and forth fight. “I can’t wait to stick my foot up that bitch’s giant ass! Tired of her running her fucking mouth!”

As Gabby became distracted by Oni and lost to Willow, Kenzi burst out laughing. “That cunt has the attention span of a fucking gnat! This is going to be a damn cakewalk!”

“I’d do anything to have a shot at that chica. Miss Goodie 2 shoes. Serves that bitch right to lose. Next show the streak will continue when you put you foot in her ass.”

Al turned her attention to Kenzi. “Hell as I see it, you take out the army brat, and I take out half the supposed tag champs., we’ll have everything made for us.” Al said to Kenzi.

Kenzi smiled as she leaned over and gave Alizé a high five. “Oh! Believe that homegirl! Gabby is going to keep on losing like losers always do! Then after you handle one half of the FAKE tag team chumpions…we’ll be next in line to take those belts and add them to our collection!”

Kenzi cheered as the next segment came up and Ashley Chase made a new stipulation for the main event. If Violet won, Jenn would be able to challenge for other titles. “YEAH! I tell you girl…I REALLY like Ms. Chase! That girl has a good head on her shoulders! I only wish she had made that match for the Breakout Title!” Kenzi chuckled, “But I guess she figured since Keira was already all ‘broke out’ from acne, she’d let her hang on to the Breakout title for a while longer.”

Kenzi sneered, “She better be glad I don’t want that belt…you know Ms. Chase left me a message that she’d make sure that I got a title shot in the future.” She smiled broadly, “She likes your girl’s style!”

“Well she already got mad props in my book.” Al said high fiving Kenzi. “First she gonna retify that fuck up Bliss did with Jenn by letting Vi beat the ever loving hell out a Fisher. And it seems she got our back. Something Blister never did.”

Al sat back in deep thought. “Wonder what it would take for ol’ Lucas to make Chase the full time GM instead of interim. She knows how to run shit right.”

Kenzi nodded, "Yeah, you'd probably have to pull a Bliss and let him smash your tonsils with his man meat!" She giggled at the thought, "Chase needs that gig, full time, but I don't think she's into doing that stuff...too bad."

Kenzi and Alize watched as the tag team match kicked off next. She rolled her eyes. "Why are these losers on the show...wrestling for what should be OUR spot in the tag division?! We should be #1 contenders!"

Al nodded her head in agreement as she watched the match. "You know how it is though, haters gonna hate. They tried to screw Oni over for the World title. They messed Jenn over and cost her any future tile shots. Now they are over looking us for these wannabes. I mean they have the premiere tag team split up this coming show fighting single matches. How are we gonna show em that we are the rightful champs and not the Frenemies."

Al snorted. "What kind of stupid name is Frenemies for a name of a team anyway. If I don't like your ass no way I'm teaming up with you. I know you gonna stab me in the back or visa versa. But I guess to be champs doesn't mean you have brains though. I mean look at Steele and Fisher."

Kenzi narrowed her eyes, “Yeah…we are going to have to make an impact if we want the respect that we deserve! Its embarrassing to have a tag team with a stupid ass name like that anyway!” Kenzi sat for a minute, then she shook her head, “You know…that’s our problem Al. We are biting off the old heads instead of forging our own path and doing what we gotta do! Being the A-Listers is cool and all…but that aint us…it never was. We need to make LAW take notice. We need to start by handling our business next show and letting them all know that we aint some Crystal and Nicky rip offs!” Alizé nodded in agreement and when they turned their attention back to the match was over. The winner didn’t matter because they had their minds on individual victories of their own.

The next match was Crystal taking on Mackenzie. Kenzi sat forward as she watched this match intently. Crystal wasn’t helping her inside the ring, but that didn’t stop her from watching the woman with a keen eye. Kenzi shook her head as Crystal was inches from tapping out, only to be saved at the last minute by Nicky and Willow. She raised her eyebrow, “Damn…homegirl was about to give up in there…”

"She lucky her ass buddies bailed her out.  Man I can't believe Pride ever thought we needed help from the likes of her.  Like she could teach you anything."  Al said wit ha bit of disgust in her voice.

"Vi is a billion times better teacher than old as Crystal could ever be."  She said looking at Kenzi.  "I think you need to kick her ass to the side.  Like you said we don't need to be following the old ass tricks.   We need to make our own noise."

As Kenzi watched Crystal's resurgence following her match with Mackenzie, she couldn't help but feel a little caught in the middle after her comments about Violet. Kenzi understood what she was doing, but Crystal should have known that laying the bad mouth on Vi would put them all at odds.

"I don't know what Crystal is thinking talking shit about Momma Vi like that! I mean, I get it...she's a fame whore, but there is a line...she's getting damn close to crossing it!" Kenzi shook her head, "She's putting me in a tough spot with this shit! Maybe Raheem is right, Crystal only cares about her damn self!"
