Kenzi opened her eyes as the alarm she had set went off in the middle of the night. The subtitle buzzing was enough to wake her, even as Alex continued to doze. Kenzi carefully slipped her arm out from under Alex, causing her to stir for a moment, then settle back into a deep sleep. Kenzi’s got out of bed, looking over her shoulder at the girl’s sleeping form, then quietly snuck out of the room, taking Alex’s computer and tucking it under her arm.
Kenzi made her way to the living room and plopped down in the dark as she turned on the computer and waited for it to boot up. A loud squeal of joy came from the computer as part of Alex’s unique system startup and Kenzi nearly fell off the couch as she fumbled to silence it. As the welcome screen popped up, displaying a picture of she and Alex together in the park, she felt a pang of regret for what she was about to do.
“OY! What’s this all about?”
Kenzi grabbed her chest, whirling around in a panic as she slammed the laptop closed. She breathed a sigh of relief when she realized that it was Bobbi and not Alex who had found her. She whispered to the large woman, “…shit…you almost gave me a damn heart attack…”
Bobbi plopped down beside Kenzi as she reopened the laptop, peering over and seeing the image of the two girls. “That’s quite a nice picture of you two…you guys been getting a darn site better since…since ‘Annah moved on.” Bobbi had been loath to broach the subject since she caught Alex and Hannah kissing several weeks earlier. The ensuing blow up had culminated in Hannah leaving and more than a few fights between Kenzi and Alex before they finally made up…but on the bright side, Bobbi had finally gotten her own room. “What are you doing up so late?”
Kenzi answered absently as she set her mind to the task at hand, “I’m trying to remember Alex’s email password.” Kenzi had watched Alex like a hawk since finding out about her and Hannah. She had suspected that the two of them had been keeping in touch since her turncoat best friend ran off to London. Even though she had been long gone, the girl’s memory cast a long shadow, even though she was a world away.
Bobbi frowned, unsettled by Kenzi’s obsessive nature, especially where it involved Alex. “Ken…I know it’s not me place to say this…but I think you’re making a mistake ‘ere by not trusting Alex. I mean…yeah…she made a mistake a few weeks back, but she loves you…even a blind bloke can see it, you know?”
Kenzi stopped, staring at Bobbi. “Don’t you think I know that?! But that wasn’t the first time. Hannah has been after Alex for months and she’s still trying to break us up! I know it…and I have to stop her…once and for all!” Kenzi turned her attention back to Alex’s email, rifling through until she found what she was looking for, Hannah’s new European email address.
Bobbi couldn’t help but to feel bad about the situation, but she failed to see how Hannah was still a threat. “She’s ‘alf a world away mate…what can she possibly be doing from England?”
Kenzi stopped, and turned as she glared at Bobbi. “That fucking cunt is living with Alex’s parents! Like…like she is part of their goddamn family or something! Who in the hell does that?! I mean…she’s almost like an ex-girlfriend when you think about it! Would you let your boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend live with your mother?!”
Bobbi shrugged, “Only if I really ‘ated her guts…but I think I get your meaning all the same. Still…I know that Alex cares about you…she’s a good ‘earted Sheila. I don’t think you ‘ave anything to worry about.”
Kenzi shook her head, not at all convinced. “Alex doesn’t see Hannah for what she is…but she needs to! I’m not going to have Hannah Paul’s ghost lingering around anymore! I’m going to deal with this…once and for all!” Kenzi set to furiously typing an email to Hannah as she pretended to be Alex. “Alex is going to realize that Hannah isn’t all sugar and spice and everything nice like she pretends to be! Hannah is an evil bitch that has NO right to someone like Alex!”
Bobbi put her massive hand on Kenzi’s shoulder. “Are you sure you want to do this Kenzi? I mean…it feels like a violation of trust. I’d ‘ate to see this turn and blow up in your face. Alex ‘as stuck by you…even through all this bleeding mess with Jenny Tuck and the allegations. Maybe you can just let this go…?”
Kenzi shook her head, even as she kept typing. “No! You don’t understand! This…the stuff with Tuck…it’s all interconnected! I have to deal with this now if I want my life back…if I want Alex all to myself! I have to do this!” Kenzi finished typing out the email, then hit send. She made sure to auto-delete all future replies. She powered down the laptop and closed it, the deed was done. She turned to Bobbi, “I know you don’t think that this is for the best…but it really and truly is! By tomorrow night…everything is going to be right as rain. Alex and I are going to be closer than ever and I’m going to get my life back!” Kenzi smiled as she tucked Alex’s laptop under her arm and headed back to the bedroom…her devious plan put into motion.
