Sidney Grey was over the moon following her lopsided victory over Angel Kash. She knew that she would best the rich, spoiled socialite, but even she had to admit that it was far easier than she ever imagined. It just went to show that while youth and strength were prized assets, there was no substitute for experience and will. Her victory would make her the toast of the entertainment world and her detractors would have to eat their words. Not only did they doubt she could win, they also doubted she’d leave the ring in one piece. They had been wrong on both counts. She left the ring smelling like a rose, and she still had time to take a stroll down to ringside to get a good look at Crystal Hilton, a woman who gone out of her way to run her and the company she had once worked for down in her shoot interview. Despite her boasting, she ended up taking a loss against a relative rookie in The Doc. Though Sidney denied it, seeing Crystal leaving the ring a loser gave her just as much pleasure as beating Angel. Wel…almost…
Sidney sighed as she looked out the port window of the CTN private jet as it roared down the runway and crept into the sky. She watched as the Cleveland landscape seemed to fall away while they climbed into the sky. She leaned back in the plush leather seat and wiggled her bottom to settle further into the comfortable chair. A broad grin spread across her lips as she touched SoLo on her hand, “Did I tell you? I could have swore that Angel peed a little when I hit her with that piledriver!”
SoLo smiled politely and shook her head, even though this was the forth time that she had been told the story. It was painfully obvious that the victory was a source of great pride for her. It was all that she could think about and all that she could talk about…and that was a problem…a very dangerous problem the way that SoLo saw it. She put her hand over Sidney’s as she looked at her employer in earnest, “It was a good victory Ms. Grey, but maybe it wasn’t the…the…” she struggled to find the words, “…the challenge that you thought it was.” She watched as her words sunk in, hoping that her employer would get her meaning and take them to heart.
Sidney cocked her head to the side, giving SoLo a long sideways glance. She suddenly laughed out loud. “YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!! She was so BAD in the ring!! Mean, I never expected her to be a challenge for me…but I never even broke a sweat!!” Sidney snorted as she stretched, “Cynthia Warren must be shitting her pants right now!”
SoLo wrung her hands as she listened to Sidney gloat over her victory…a victory that might have been a complete sham. SoLo felt that she had to say something before Sidney said or did something that she would regret. “Ms. Grey, I have to tell you something…after the show, I saw…” SoLo paused as she felt her phone buzz. She glanced at it for a moment, intending to just read it later, but something caught her eye that distracted her from her train of thought. “I…” she tried to continue, but the words wouldn’t come out.
Sidney looked at her, raising an eyebrow, “What is it?”
“It’s…it’s a photo shoot offer.” Her eyes grow large as she looks at who the offer is from. “It’s from…S.I.!”
“S.I.? SPORTS ILLUSTRATED!!” she screamed as she snatched the phone out of SoLo’s hand. “OH MY GOD!! OH MY GOD!!” Sidney beamed as she stared at the screen, then looked back over at SoLo. “Do you know what this means?! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS?!!”
SoLo shook her head, still stunned. “I…I…”
Sidney didn’t bother waiting for SoLo to get her bearings. “I’m going to be BIG! I’m going to be HUGE!! I’M GOING TO BE FUCKING MASSIVE!!!” She threw back her head and laughed. LAW is going to forget all about losing Violet when they realize what a big fucking deal I am!!”
SoLo ran her hands through her hair as she tried to process everything. Certainly this was big news…huge news to be sure, but it couldn’t have come at a worse time. If Sidney’s confidence was off the charts already, she would be past the point of no return now. She had to step in and say something before this went any further. “Ms. Grey! I have to tell you someth…”
“NO TIME SOLO!! NO TIME!!” She jumped up from her seat and stumbled into the aisle, still fumbling with the phone as she quickly answered the text.
SoLo stood up and touched Sidney’s arm, “PLEASE MS. GREY, I…”
Sidney jerked away from SoLo. “JESUS!! YOU HAVE TO STOP!!” she yelled, as she pointed at the phone, “I NEED TO ANSWER THIS BEFORE THEY PICK SOMEONE ELSE!!” She rolled her eyes and pushed her way past SoLo and made her way towards the bathroom, seeking the solitude that her Assistant wouldn’t give her.
All SoLo could do was watch Sidney leave, oblivious to anything that SoLo had to say…
Candid Moment: SoLo
How do I tell Ms. Grey that her win this past weekend might not have been what she thought it was? I mean…victory achieves our ends and she is as hot a commodity as she has ever been, but what does that mean for her next match? Confidence is never a bad thing…but overconfidence can get you hurt inside the ring. I desperately want to tell her what I saw after the show was over…Mr. Raheem speaking in a VERY friendly and familiar manner to who I am positive was Ms. Kash…the woman she had just soundly beaten inside the ring.
I know that Ms. Grey will never listen to what I have to say…not without evidence…not without something to show her that will make her believe what I already know. Her match was a complete set-up and now she is going into the next LAW event thinking that she is a much better wrestler than she really is against an opponent that will certainly be more dangerous than someone willing to lie down in a match against her.
SoLo made her way to the front of the plane, if Sidney wouldn’t listen to her, there was only one other person Sidney would consider listening to. SoLo folded her arms over her small breasts as she glared angrily down at Raheem. “Mr. Raheem, we need to talk, right now!”
He glanced up at her, taking out his ear buds and giving an exasperated sigh, “I swear, if what you have to say don’t involve you wantin’ to join th’ Mile High Club, there is gonna be a damn problem!”
She ignored his crass statement as she plopped down across from him. “You need to tell Ms. Sidney what you did with Ms. Kash!”
He chuckled, “Really?” he leaned in close to her, “And what th’ fuck is it that I need to tell Th’ Crypt Keeper about?!”
She pointed an angry finger at him, “You know what you did! Don’t make me say it!! You need to fix this before it gets worse!”
This time it was Raheem who rolled his eyes at her, sitting back in his seat as he put his ear buds back in, “Drop that shit Jackie Chan, she won th’ damn match and everything is lovely…PERIOD!”
SoLo snatched the ear buds out of his ear, causing him to jump up and get in her face, ‘BITCH!! IS YOU FUCKIN’ OUT YO’ GODDAMN MIND?!!”
SoLo got to her feet, and though he towered over her, she didn’t back down. She poked him hard in the chest. “You need to tell her that you had Ms. Kash take a dive for her!! You can’t let her walk around thinking that she is something that she isn’t!” As Raheem backed up, she continued to walk towards him, poking him in the chest, “If she gets into the ring with Ms. Warren next week thinking that she is invincible, she’s going to get killed!!”
Raheem fell back into his seat as SoLo stood over him, her hands on her hips as she stared down at him. He narrowed his eyes, “You lucky I’m a motherfuckin’ gentleman! Next time I might bust yo’ ass for that shit!”
“YOU TELL HER!!” SoLo yelled.
“Tell who, what?” They both looked over as Sidney stood there staring at both of them. When the two of them didn’t immediately answer, she narrowed her eyes. “Are the two of you screwing?!”
Raheem burst out laughing, “Hey! I love Chinese…but there aint enough of your girl to satisfy me! After I banged her out, I’d just be ready to go again a few minutes later.”
SoLo’s face twisted into a mask of anger as she flushed red. “You tell her about Ms. Kash!”
Sidney seemed truly confused as she looked back and forth between the two of them. “Kash? What about Kash?”
Raheem glared at SoLo for a moment, then sighed as he turned and looked at Sidney. “I’m pretty sure th’ bitch pissed herself at th’ end of the match.”
“OH MY GOD!! YOU SAW THAT TOO, RIGHT?!!” Sidney crowed.
Raheem gave SoLo a smug glance as he pounded fists with Sidney and put his ear buds back in…
Raheem Candid Moment:
Look, I understand that SoLo is straight trippin’ cuz she think she saw some shit after th’ show between me and Angel, but how th’ fuck she gonna believe any damn thing she see since her damn eyes are three quarters closed all th’ damn time! That shit aint my damn fault and it aint racist…THAT’S GENETICS BITCH!
Hey, all jokes aside. Whether I hollered at Kash or not, th’ bottom line is that Christy Wrinkly just got another damn two weeks of being relevant! SoLo needs to stop tripin’ and start appreciatin’ th’ fact that I’m here to make shit run smooth! If I left Sid to her own devices, she’d be drunk off her ass in th’ damn gutter and SoLo would be starrin’ in Asian porn movies wit’ her beaver all blurred out!
Man, I hate that fuckin’ blurry shit!
SoLo stared down at Raheem for a moment more, then stifled a scream as she made her way back towards her seat, angrily punching at the seats as she went. Sidney followed her back, a look of confusion plastered over her face. As SoLo threw herself into her seat, Sid leaned against the seat in front of her and folded her arms.
“What is your major malfunction? Everything is going perfectly, but you are acting like it’s not!” Sidney asked, “What am I missing here?”
SoLo couldn’t meet her eyes, “You won’t believe me…”
“Believe what?” she asked.
SoLo swallowed, staring at the carpet and wondering to herself if she was just going to come out and say what was on her mind or not.
“Well?!” Sidney asked.
SoLo looked up at her, “I think Mr. Raheem told Ms. Kash to lose to you.”
Sidney stared at her for what seemed like an eternity. Finally a long, slow smile touched the corners of her mouth and she suddenly erupted into laughter. She laughed so long and so hard that SoLo wondered if she’d ever stop. Finally she patted SoLo on her shoulder, wiping her eyes with her free hand. “And they say that your people don’t have a sense of humor!”
Candid Moment: Sidney
Last week I made my debut in LAW, and dare I say it…but my match was WORST of the entire night! No…it wasn’t poorly wrestled or filled with botched spots, it was a squash match of epic proportions! I beat Angel Kash so badly that I doubt she ever shows her face around LAW again…and I’ll say this, it’s no great loss! I did her and the LAW fans a favor by beating her like the curtain jerking no-body that she is! It wasn’t an exhibition match, it was an on-notice match!
Everyone in the arena who watched that match…they are on-notice! Everyone who saw it at home or in a bar…they are on-notice! Lastly, all the bitches in the back, pretending to be stars…they are on-notice too! They are running, each and every one of them, like rats off a sinking ship! Angel’s career is OVER! She can’t even job for LAW anymore, not after the way I humiliated her! She’s never coming back!
Not only that, but bitches who THINK that I might be gunning for them are leaving! Yeah, Violet might be telling everyone that she needs time to do this, that or the other thing…but you can’t argue with the truth! Violet is leaving LAW because the competition is too tough! She saw me dominate Kash and she knows I would dominate her the same way!
If that wasn’t evidence enough for you, look at Crystal Hilton! She tried to build herself up and pretend that she wasn’t scared to see me here. She talked a boatload of shit in her press conference that was attended by all of three nerds sharing a Mr. Microphone! I don’t know why CTN ever gave two and a half shits about her, but it obviously wasn’t for her wrestling! I have boots that have been in the business longer than The Doc, and she was smart enough to take advantage as soon as she saw how Crystal’s game fell apart when she saw me come out to get a closer look at her. Point blank…NOT impressive! She’d be wise to follow Kash and Violet out the damn door! Maybe the three of them can get together and help Carmen Diaz pack her shit and hit the damn road as well!
But enough about them! They don’t matter…and neither does Cynthia Warren! I don’t know if the Dupree’s hate that bitch’s guts and they want me to run her out of town too or if she’s stupid enough to want to get in the ring with me, knowing that I’ll embarrass her just like I did Angel Kash?! Either way, at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter. Warren is a stepping-stone for me to became the Queen of the Ring…SCRATCH THAT!! I am ALREADY the Queen of the Ring! Now it’s time for me to make sure that the rest of the skanks around here realize the fact that I am going to be their next QUEEN!
