From Gabby’s Blog:
You may in fact be wondering why I chose Crystal Hilton/Millar whatever to face Amy Jo Smyth. I could have easily chosen Sarah Lacklan, but Lacklan probably would have orgasmed about the prospect and started calling herself super important when the truth is, she isn’t. Exactly what I said to her two weeks ago, she’s just another cog in the wheel. The show goes on with, or without her. She didn’t even get booked this week, guess that whole thing fell flat didn’t it? Whoops. Anyway, I chose Crystal to remind Amy Jo Smyth that Crystal will come for her head much like anyone else would. And sure enough, Crystal is already talking shit, even if it makes zero sense. My choice was calculated. Lacklan would have tried to kill Smyth. I don’t want that, I want Smyth to get a challenge, not to have to fight a desperate person. Crystal will serve her purpose just fine. I just need her to give effort. And it’s obvious I put a little more effort in this “pick your poison” thing than Smyth did.
It does make me wonder why she chose Stacy Jones to face me. Maybe it was simply a random choice. Maybe it was to give me someone new to face. Or, more likely, it’s because Stacy Jones is looking for an opportunity, and Smyth is planning to give it to her. Maybe Smyth put more thought into this than I thought.
I’ll say it right here and now: Stacy Jones has been nothing but impressive since she came into LAW back in August. She’s come up short a few times and gotten some wins, but you know what, It’s not like people have steamrolled her. Nobody is walking all over Stacy Jones, and I both respect and admire that. I do. Stacy Jones does have a bright future in LAW. And obviously, she’s hungry. She wants to get to the top of the food chain in LAW. I know what that’s like. I was there, and I still feel like I am there. I feel like sometimes it takes a long time, no matter who you beat, what you accomplish, that people will always try and bring you down. That’s this business in nutshell. A bunch of petty, insecure people all willing to step on you to make themselves feel important.
But I see the forest for the trees.
I can recognize that Stacy Jones was being upended by Sylvia Lopez or whoever and they constantly got in her way. It’s annoying when you have someone like that. So now, Stacy gets to be free and clear to shoot for the moon. Isn’t that the saying? Shoot for the moon and you’ll wind up in the stars? Hey, I respect that. I respect drive and ambition. When Stacy spoke at LAW 71, you could hear it in her voice. The passion is there. I’m glad that these cunts around here haven’t beaten it out of her. Because I want the best out of Stacy Jones. I want Stacy Jones, now free of distraction, to come at me with everything she has. I’m the number one contender to the LAW championship. Stacy Jones isn’t going to get a much bigger opportunity at this current time. So I expect Stacy Jones to match the passion and fire she showed last week in the ring for this match. I want it. I want to face a hungry, determined, firey unbreakable Angel. I wanna know if Stacy Jones is truly for real, or was it all a front she put on last week.
Because I will tell Stacy this: I am as real as it gets.
I’m not going to lie to you, bullshit you, and I wasn’t just blowing smoke up your ass for the past few minutes. I believe every word of what I said, because I’ve seen it. But in case you forgot, I’ve been the person who has brought a lot of people back to earth with a reality check when they’re head gets too big. When they start feeling themselves a little too much. I put people in their place when they start to believe that they are bigger than they are. You can ask about me. And I’m about to walk into Night of Glory IV, and silence the critics and become a 3 time LAW champion. And maybe, this SHOULD have been the Queen of the Ring finals, but that’s another story for another time. What the focus is on, is the here and now. That’s history, can’t do anything to change it. So now, Stacy gets her chance. Her chance to dance with the lights on bright. And in the end, Stacy’s gonna bring hers, I’m gonna bring mine, and we’ll see just who has what it takes.
And there is a small part of me that wants to look at this match, and not really care about it. I mean, I’m number one contender, I’m not losing that, despite what Kenzi Grey thinks, and I’ve already punched my ticket to becoming the next LAW champion. So why bother really going all out with Stacy? But that, is just a small part of me. The majority is like, here’s a hungry wrestler coming to impress at my expense. And I can’t have that. I cannot allow it. I can’t let someone upstage me, right before I take back what’s mine. So no, Stacy Jones doesn’t have to worry. I’m not going to come out flat. Nah, I’m going into LAW 72 to set an example. Are we going to tear the house down? Abso-fucking-lutely. And in the end, I’m going to have to defeat Stacy Jones. I will leave no doubts in anyone’s mind that I’m ready to take down Amy Jo Smyth and take back the LAW championship. I will give Stacy Jones all the credit she deserves, even when no one else will. But that does not mean I’m going to go soft, or lay an egg. I’ve only been taught one way, and that’s full speed ahead. So Stacy can pack her lunch, and I’ll pack mine. When you have two people with the same mindset, magic happens.
And the magic will be something to remember.
I’ll see you soon Stacy.
It was a quiet week off, and I was grateful for that. I got in some quality time with my couch, watched the Raiders beat Sam Tolson’s Chiefs, but unfortunately, Sam didn’t feel like talking all of a sudden. But you know, it’s all good, and was all good for me not having a match, gave me more time to prepare for the eventual challenge that lay ahead.
I was called by Lucas Dupree on Friday to pick an opponent for Amy Jo Smyth and I had to think about it for some time. I chose Crystal and even on the phone, I shrugged. It was at the time, whatever to me. But, I couldn’t get out of the conversation fast enough to avoid Allie seeing me on the phone and saying “Talk to you soon.” And she instantly jumped on it.
“Who was that?”
I rolled my eyes as she was grinning like a cat
“My boss.”
She giggled.
“Liar.”
“I’m not lying. He asked me to do something for him.”
“Uh-huh, so… when are you seeing him again?”
“My boss? Probably next week, he’s there every show.”
Is that what you’re calling him now?
“Calling who? Yes, I call my boss, boss. Don’t you?”
“Stop messing around Gabby, you know who I’m talking about.”
“You’re talking about my boss.”
She shook her head, snapping her fingers trying to think of his name.
“No, I mean… what’s name, one legged dude.”
“Handler? Seriously? I just saw him a couple of weeks ago for the first time in years.”
“And you gave him your number.”
“So?! He’s my friend. That’s what happens!”
“I think it’s a little more than that.”
“What?! What the fuck Allie?”
“Haven’t you ever thought about what it would be like to do a guy with one leg?”
“What. The Fuck, Allie? What in the fuck is wrong with you?”
“You have something agains them?”
“What? No! Allie, stop trying to turn this conversation weird!”
“Too late.”
I sigh.
“God dammit.”
“So you mean to tell me right now, you haven’t talked to him since lunch that day?”
“No, I haven’t”
“I still think you’re lying.”
I shrugged
“And I still think your mind is always in the gutter. So we’re even.”
Allie would not drop this thing to save her life. She was determined to make this an issue of me having sex with a person with one leg. She was trying to turn this into a fucking Seinfeld conversation. Would you or wouldn’t you? What are the pros and cons, what would it feel like? Would it be weird to just feel a metal pole down there instead of another leg? In short, Allie is a freak and cannot be trusted with anything.
The conversation went on for another 5 minutes about this and if not having a limb makes a person less attractive or something. The truth of the matter was, I liked Handler, he was my buddy, but one leg or two, that’s was about where we stood. It’s fucking awkward and weird to be having this discussion anyway. And it only cemented Allie’s beliefs about what I was doing when my phone rang again.
“Hello?”
“Gabs.”
“Handler?”
I couldn’t help but see Allie’s cheesy ass grin during all this. It made me want to punch her in the face.
“What’s up man?”
“I’m just calling to uh, I dunno, see if you wanted to get lunch or something? Have some time to really catch up and stuff?”
“Like… today? Like… now?”
“I mean, sometime soon, doesn’t have to be right this second.”
Allie was practically a cheerleader the way she was bouncing up and down.
“Uh… yeah, I mean, we can set something up, no problem. I’ll be out of town next weekend, so it’ll have to be before then.”
“Sure. Hey, I gotta run, but, just call me back and we’ll hook it up.”
“You got it.”
Allie would have to have her smile surgically removed.
“I KNEW IT!”
“Allie it’s lunch. Seriously, get a hold of yourself.”
“And next it’ll be dinner, and hey watch my house while I go bang the dude with one leg!”
“Allie, I swear to god!”
