Normally, if I was competing against someone who had already established themselves in the company I work for and come out of the match with a loss, I’d be angry with myself because nine times out of ten, the reason why I lost would have been my fault. Either I would have made a big mistake which led to defeat or I just simply didn’t have enough left in the tank to get the job done.
This time however, I’m not angry at myself, I’m angry at my opponent. Samantha Tolson, now a former friend of mine, she knew that I had her defeated in our one on one match at Night of Glory IV. So what did she do? She took the coward’s way out, using the ring post to her advantage to score the victory over me.
I’m so angry I can’t even focus on anything else, and it’s driving me insane!
Here at the Pointe Orlando shopping mall, I’m dressed in a pair of black high heeled leather boots, a pair of skin tight black leather trousers, a black Christmas sweater with Rudolph on the front of it, my black leather jacket, a pair of black leather gloves and a plain black wool hat. I’m with my girlfriend, Jen, who is dressed in a pair of light brown leather high heeled boots, a pair of skin tight light blue denim jeans, a thick long cream colored coat, a white Christmas sweater with Frosty the Snowman on the front, a pair of black leather gloves and a plain cream colored wool hat.
Jen decided we should come Christmas shopping to help try and take my mind off things, but it doesn’t seem to be working. Normally whenever I see my beautiful girlfriend getting all excited about Christmas, it puts a smile on my face but this time, it’s different. She grabs my hand excitedly and pulls me over to one of the shop windows and points at something that I’m not paying attention too.
“Oh look, Stacy! Wouldn’t that be a perfect gift for Zoey!?!?”
“Sure.”
I have no idea what she’s referring too and then all of a sudden, I feel her eyes on me.
“You’re not even looking at what I’m showing you.”
Finally looking at what she’s pointing at, I glance over to her and nod, putting on my best fake smile.
“Looks great.”
The expression on her face changes to a dejected one, I hate making her feel upset.
“I’m sorry, honey. Just...I’m still so angry over the match you know? This was huge for me. My first LAW Pay-Per-View as a full-time member of the roster, facing off against a former three-time Chaos Champion? And it was ruined because that bitch I once called a friend took the coward’s way out because she couldn’t handle losing four matches in a fucking row!”
Jen quickly embraces me in a tight hug and plants a soft kiss on my lips.
“I know you’re upset about what happened, and I don’t blame you. But it’s nearly Christmas and I thought it would be fun to do some Christmas shopping. So could you try and forget about work for a few hours and have some fun with me like we did last Christmas? For me?”
She puffs out her bottom lip and gives me her best puppy dog eyes which forces me to let out a small chuckle.
“Okay, for you...I’ll do anything.”
Jen immediately perks up now.
“YAY!”
She takes my hand and we begin to head further through the shopping mall, doing some window shopping as we pass, pointing out things that we think will be good for our friends. We then come to a jewellers and Jen stops before turning to me.
“Hey, remember when I came to that jewellers store with you to help you pick out an engagement ring for Katie and that super camp store assistant thought that you and I were together and we were looking for an engagement ring for each other?”
The conversation reminds me about the engagement ring I bought Jen months ago that I was planning on giving to her on her birthday but then chose against it as I knew she wasn’t ready, so I gave it to Zoey to keep locked away safely at her place to avoid temptation.
“Oh God, yeah...and you went along with it and referred to me as your bae, knowing that I can’t stand that word.”
She giggles.
“It was so funny. It’s crazy to think that back then, our lives were so different and neither of us would have expected to be where we are now, huh?”
We stare deep into each other’s eyes and I smile.
“Yeah, but I’m glad things ended up the way they did…”
“Me too…”
The two of us share a passionate kiss with each other before Jen quickly breaks away and places her hands on my shoulders.
“Okay, so here’s the plan...we head off separately and get the gifts we want to give to each other and then we’ll meet back up in about an hour or so at the Starbucks further up. Deal?”
“Deal.”
And with that, we part ways and I make my way further into the shopping mall to look for something that Jen would like or want for Christmas.
It’s roughly an hour later and I’m sitting inside the Starbucks cafe with a few bags full of gifts, sipping away at a cappuccino, waiting for Jen to arrive. She’s usually always the last one to arrive whenever we’re buying presents for each other because usually I know exactly what I’m getting so I’m in and out and done.
Jen on the other hand, she spends forever looking at different things before finally deciding on what to get, but she does it because she cares and that she wants whatever she gets me to be absolutely perfect, even though I always tell her that no matter what she gets me, it’ll be perfect anyway because it’s from her.
I take my cell phone out of my pocket and send her a quick text asking where she is before setting the phone down onto the table and taking another sip of my drink. After a few moments, my phone buzzes and I check it to see it’s a reply from Jen saying she shouldn’t be too much longer.
After a few more moments of me just staring into space, I feel a couple of light taps on my arm which snaps me out of said trance as I turn my attention to where the patting came from to find a young blonde girl who looks to be around Chelsea’s age with what looks like a card in her hands.
“Hello, honey. Are you lost?”
The little girl shakes her head and points over to another table where a couple are looking over with smiles on their faces.
“No. My Mommy and Daddy are over there.”
“What’s your name?”
“Alice.”
“Nice to meet you, Alice. My name is Stacy.”
She nods in excitement.
“I know! You’re my favorite wrestler!”
“Am I? Well, thank you.”
“I made dis for you…”
She passes me the card which I take from her and look at the front, it’s a picture of me and what I think is Alice and I’m holding a championship and we have big smiles on our faces and our arms up in the air celebrating.
“It’s beautiful. Is that me and you?”
She nods with a smile on her face.
“And what championship is that?”
“The Marquee Championship. I fink you will win the Battle Royal and win it off Crystal.”
I smile at her before opening it up and reading what it says inside and it reads, “To Stacy, Merry Christmas, Love From, Alice”.
“Awww, thank you, Alice. I’m going to put this up as soon as I get home.”
She beams at me before running back over to her parents who look up at me and smile as I nod towards them before I turn my attention back to the door as Jen enters, carrying many of her own bags. She makes her way over and sits down opposite me and I can feel her heart beating pretty fast.
“Did you run a marathon before you got here or something? I can feel your heart beating like crazy.”
“What? ...No...I’m just...I’m super excited coz of Christmas that’s all.”
I raise my eyebrow as I look at her, trying to see if she’s telling me the truth or not as she looks back at me and smiles.
“You haven’t been waiting for me too long have you?”
Shaking my head, I take another sip from my drink.
“About ten minutes or so…”
“Okay, good. I’m going to order myself a drink, my mouth is as dry as the Sahara desert.”
And with that, she gets to her feet and makes her way over to order her drink and after a few moments, arrives back and we start chatting away.
So despite falling short to Samantha at Night of Glory IV, once again I find myself in a huge match but this time, it has championship implications and this time, I’m taking on seven competitors. The last time I was in a Battle Royal like this, I was facing every single other competitor in the Queen of the Ring tournament minus Katalina Star, and I ended up being the last woman standing.
This time, this match is even bigger because before, it was just about gaining momentum ahead of the tournament, but now, the winner of this Battle Royal becomes the number one contender for Crystal Hilton’s Marquee Championship.
And I’m going to make sure I’m the last woman standing again!
The camera flickers to life as I’m sitting here on a training mat in my personal training room at my home in Orlando. Dressed in a pair of white sneakers, a pair of skin tight plain black tracksuit bottoms and a plain black training bra with my hair tied up in a ponytail, I look into the camera.
“So Night of Glory IV didn’t really go according to plan, did it? Losing to Samantha Tolson due to underhanded tactics, so congratulations, Samantha, all you proved that night was that you can only get the job done by taking the coward's way out. I honestly thought you were better than that, but lately you’ve shown me that a lot of what I thought about you, I was wrong about. We were once friends, and I tried to help you with your problems and what did you do? You just threw that offer of help back in my face and threatened to destroy me...and for what? Just to send a message to Saltwater Suzy? What did that accomplish in the end? You beat me, but then Kate Steele beat her to become the new Chaos Champion. Perhaps instead of whining and complaining about having your rematch for the Chaos Championship that was offered to you being a Triple Threat match instead of a one on one match, you should have just accepted it and you may have actually been a four time Chaos Champion now and in a different match at LAW #73 entirely. But no, you refused to take the match like a petulant little child and then threatened a friend, so congratulations, now you have one less friend and no shot at your precious Chaos Championship anymore.”
Standing to my feet, I make my way over to the side of the room where a wooden bench is situated, on top of the bench is a bottle of water and I pick it up, unscrew the cap off and take a drink.
“Speaking of Saltwater Suzy, you didn’t have a very good night did you? Losing the Chaos Championship, your mortal enemy beating me which you didn’t want and Crystal Hilton defeating your fellow Cool Kid, Sarah Lacklan to retain the Marquee Championship. Of course, your other fellow Cool Kid, Kenzi Grey walked away with the Breakout Championship, but that’s three bad things against one good thing for you.”
On one hand I hold up three fingers and on the other I hold up one finger.
“I’ll say it again, THREE bad things and ONE good thing that happened for you. You get that? Just want to make sure you do because I know that math ain’t really your forte since the last time we faced each other in a match, you said my win/loss record was zero wins and two losses when I’d had six matches here and it was actually three wins and three losses. Anyway, so I’d imagine you’re probably not in the best of moods right now, so you’re probably gonna throw a lot of shade my way, mock me for my appearance and call me ugly, mock my wrestling ability, mock me for being on a losing streak at the moment, mock me for not having a Dad, mock my children, mock my friends and--oh, wait a second. You do all of that shit anyway!”
I chuckle and shake my head a little.
“Staying on the topic of annoying bitches who need several lessons in respect, next on the list is Milisandre Crowthorne, a woman who I still have a score to settle with considering the last time we met one on one, thanks to a certain Sylvia Lopez, she ended up getting the victory over me. And what was it that you said in the lead up to that match? Oh that’s right! You said that I would be nothing more than a stepping stone on your way to the top, correct? Okay, cool...where are you now? What have you done since then? Yeah, you had a match for the Breakout Championship at Night of Glory IV, but that’s about it. I’ve been making a name for myself by taking it to some of the best wrestlers in this company when you claimed that I would just disappear and be a nobody, a footnote. And apparently I’m the one with a big ego? Seriously, if I have a big ego and you’re saying shit like that? Then you must have an ego the size of fucking Texas!”
Taking another drink of water, I replace the cap and set it back down onto the bench before walking over to the back of the room where my HYBRID Evolution Championship rests on a table, I pick it up and place it over my shoulder before turning back to the camera.
“Next we have Kayla Winters, who so far is the only opponent I have in this match to have broken her silence thus far and well, she didn’t really have much to say about me other than that she see’s me as a real threat in this match, which I have to give her credit for…”
I glance down at my title for a moment and then quickly look back up to the camera and point to it.
“Oh...this? Oh yeah, perhaps I should explain why I’m showing you my Evolution Championship. You see, Kayla, the other thing you mentioned about me was how I’m the newest member of the Boardwalk Angels and you wished me good luck in walking in their shadows and to not try and take the spotlight from them because it wouldn’t end well for me, and then what was it you said after that? Ah yeah, you said that if I manage to win this Battle Royal, that I would just lay down in my match with Crystal and let her beat me and retain the title.”
Smirking, I shake my head again.
“That just tells me that you haven’t bothered to learn anything about me or my history with the members of the Angels. First of all, I have been very close friends with both Zoey and Farrah long before we even came to LAW, so if I were to ever win a championship here whilst being a part of the Angels, they would be happy for me and they would never think for one fucking second that I’m trying to steal any spotlight from them! And second of all, and this is where my Evolution title comes into play, the person I defeated to win this very championship? He was my half-brother! So if I’m willing to take a championship from my own blood, then you can bet your ass that I’m going to do my damndest to take it from a friend! Stacy Jones lays down for no-one! It’s not in my nature...I’m a wrestler and I come here to wrestle...not lay down and let someone pin me just because they’re my fucking friend!”
Taking the title off of my shoulder, I place it back down where it was and make my way over to the weight rack, picking up a couple of dumbbells, I sit down on the bench beside it and place them down on the floor in front of me.
“Now moving onto Maria Spencer...who was once a fun-loving, happy go-lucky, play by the rules kinda gal, doing things the right way, which would have been a nice change considering everyone else I’ve been talking about so far in this match but of course the key word I used in that sentence was “once”, because she’s not that anymore. Now, despite how I feel about you, Maria, there is something we both agree on and that being that these “Cool Kids” need to be taken down a peg or two, I’ve never been quiet about how I feel about them. The way they believe to be bigger, badder and better than everyone else and that they’re trying to take over LAW, and how they act like petty little children all the time on a playground, it’s pathetic. Thing is though, aren’t you doing the same thing with what you call The Children? It’s weird how you call them that because I’m also dealing with a group called The Children in HYBRID, but they’re very different from your lot. Yours is more like a mafia where they are a Satanic cult. But that’s besides the point, the point is this, you trying to take over LAW and then complaining about how the Cool Kids are trying to do that as well? It means you’re a hypocrite...and I don’t like hypocrites. Nor do I like people who blatantly bend the rules in their favor either. I mean, come on, like I said earlier to Samantha, what does that actually prove? I’ll tell you what it proves, it proves you’re not good enough to get the job done so you resort to underhanded tactics to get what you want! It sickens me when I see wrestlers who can’t be bothered to put in the extra work to achieve success and take the easy road get what they don’t deserve when wrestlers like me put their blood, sweat and tears and work harder than ever, busting their asses every fucking day and are unable to get what they strive for due to those underhanded tactics!”
Leaning forward, I rest my elbows on my legs and crack my knuckles, taking in deep breaths to keep myself calm.
“My penultimate opponent is certainly an interesting one, in the form of Etsuko Mitzusaka, the now former Breakout Champion. Doing my research on her, she’s a follower, she follows a self-proclaimed Goddess known only as the Red Lady. She has a shock collar permanently around her neck which her manager uses if she seems like she’s losing focus in her matches. I must admit, that’s a new one to me, and I’ve been in this business professionally for almost a decade, and I thought I’d seen everything by this point. I don’t know much about what Etsuko’s goal is for this mysterious Red Lady, nor is it any of my business either so I’m not going to pry. What I do know is that you’re a dangerous and honorable fighter, Etsuko, and I respect that. I also know that considering you lost your Breakout Championship at Night of Glory IV, that you’re going to be even more dangerous than usual because you’ll be wanting to bounce back as quickly as possible and becoming the new number one contender for the Marquee Championship will be a good way to do that. But of course, you’re up against seven other women who also want to become number one contender for the Marquee Championship, so it’s certainly not going to be easy.”
I sit back upright and finally, a smile forms on my face.
“And finally, we have Nova Sinclair. A woman who I’m proud to call a friend of mine. I mean, you have so many great qualities, you’re funny for one, I think I laughed for about a week after watching your parody of The Jerry Springer Show with “Maria”, “Milisandre” and “Kenzi” on the show, I hope you paid those actresses well because they all did a phenomenal job, getting their likenesses down to a tee. You’re honorable, hardworking and a damn good wrestler and I was rooting for you in the Breakout Championship match and was really disappointed you didn’t win. I can’t wait to be able to share that ring with you at LAW #73 because it’s going to be a true privilege to step into the ring with you and fight for the right to become the number one contender for the Marquee Championship. Out of everyone involved in this match, I respect you the most and I honestly hope that if I’m not able to walk out the winner, you will, and I mean that.”
Picking up the dumbbells I set down on the floor earlier, I look back to the camera.
“Ladies, we’re all gunning for the same prize in this match, that being a shot at Crystal Hilton and the Marquee Championship. I understand the threats in this match and I understand that I’m going to need to be on my toes the entire time. I know that there are many former champions in this match and I know that you all have more experience than I do as it pertains to my time here in LAW. But make no mistake about it, you do not want to underestimate me. Roxy? You underestimated me going into the six woman tag match against myself, Zoey and Farrah and we walked out victorious. Milisandre? You underestimated me going into our one on one match and I would have had you beaten had Sylvia not stuck her nose into our match and given you the win. And both Kenzi Grey and Sarah Lacklan underestimated me going into the Battle Royal leading up to Queen of the Ring and in case any of you weren’t paying attention to me earlier, I won that match. So with all of that said, you all better get ready for the fight of your lives because I’m coming into this match with more focus and determination than ever before! And I plan on becoming the number one contender for the Marquee Championship!”
And with that, I begin to lift the dumbbells, starting off my training session as the camera pans away, leaving me to my workout.
As happy as I am that management are happy enough with my recent performances here that they continue to give me opportunities to prove myself further, I’m done with just coming up short. I came up short against Crystal, I came up short against Gabby and I came up short against Samantha. This time, it’s going to be a different story. It doesn’t matter how many opponents I’m up against this time, I’m ready, willing and able to go out there and eliminate every single person in this match!
I’m focused...I’m determined...I will become number one contender for the Marquee Championship!
This time however, I’m not angry at myself, I’m angry at my opponent. Samantha Tolson, now a former friend of mine, she knew that I had her defeated in our one on one match at Night of Glory IV.
