27 July 2014
Maleek Raheem limped through the arena, heading for the exit as he held an icepack over his groin, where he had been unceremoniously kicked by Oni Kymiku at the end of the main event. As he made it to the door, he heard his phone ring and he immediately knew who it was…and he knew that she wouldn’t be happy. He considered not answering it, but he needed to get rip-roaring drunk after the night he had and he didn’t want his phone blowing up all night and all morning.
He pulled out his phone, answering it without the need to look at the caller ID, “Dom, I already know wha…” He stopped as she immediately launched into him, not giving him a chance to speak.
He nodded as he listened to Domino berate him over the way that things had gone down in the match involving Sidney. He sighed, shaking his head as she continued to rant and rave.
“You done?” he finally was able to interject, but that only served to give her cause to launch into a whole new set of curses and gripes. He waited his turn, as she continued to yell at him.
“Look! I didn’t know she was gonna pull some shit like that?! But th’ plan was to make sure that she didn’t win…and she didn’t! I…” Raheem winced as Domino tore into him again. He listened to her rail on and waited for his chance to speak again.
“A’ight! Valid point…teamin’ wit Summer aint helpin’ our cause and it is more exposure for her show. We can still find some way to spin this…I know we can…I just need some time…”
Raheem winced as Domino slammed the phone down, producing an extremely loud and audible click. He sighed, putting his phone away as he leaned against the wall, racking his brain. He had to admit, Sid had managed to pull off quite the shocking turn of events…and with Summer St. Clair no less. She hadn’t left as Marquee Champion, but she had gained an ally and an incredible measure of revenge against the only woman who had stood against her in LAW…his former ex-girlfriend, Crystal Hilton.
He smacked his hand against his head as his thoughts turned to her. As of late, she hadn’t had anything good to say about him. She was living her own life and he wasn’t even an afterthought in it. While he didn’t feel the same way, he had moves to make and he wasn’t about to waste time living in the past…regardless of his feelings for her. He sighed…turning back to walk back inside the arena, cursing under his breath as he held the icepack in place. He needed to at least speak to someone about Crystal…just so he knew that she was going to be all right.
He headed back to the area that had been designated for the trainers. He made a few inquiries about Crystal, but no one seemed to know anything. One of them said that ‘Steve’ would probably know since he was filing all of the reports on injuries that would eventually go to management. After finding out where to find him, Raheem headed over to the office, which had been provided for the head Trainer to file his report.
As Raheem started to knock on the closed door, it flew open and a young Asian man stepped out, nearly running into him. The man glared up at Raheem, but then his face softened and a smile spread across it. “Hey! You are the guy on TV! The one with that show…yeah…I like that show!”
Raheem returned the smile, “Yeah, Th’ Rap Up! I am always happy to meet a fan.”
The man shook his head. “NO! You are on that other show! The one about the police in Los Angeles…the ones who work for the Navy!”
Raheem stared at the man, “I don’t know what hell you talkin’ bout.” Raheem walked past him, rolling his eyes as he did. As soon as he entered the room, he knew that something was off. The man who was in the office was sweating profusely as he sat behind his computer, feverishly typing away. “Hey…you Steve?”
The man glanced over at Raheem nervously, then he looked at the tiny Asian man. Looking back at Raheem, he finally answered, “I can’t talk right now…I have reports to file…”
Raheem walked in, “That’s cool bro, I just wanted to ask about Crystal Hilton…she was hurt earlier toni…”
Steve held up his hand, “LOOK! I’m busy right now…I can’t discuss the conditions of the athletes with anyone but the staff…OKAY?!”
Raheem could see that the man was agitated by a lot more than the interruption he had just caused, still he didn’t appreciate the rudeness. Crystal might have kicked him to the curve, but that didn’t mean he didn’t still care about her. He reached over the desk and grabbed Steve by the collar, yanking him out of his seat…but as he did, he couldn’t help but notice that the man’s pants were down around his ankles. Raheem let him go as he stepped back, “WHAT TH’ HELL?!”
Steve reached down and pulled up his pants, pointing to the door. “GET OUT!! GET OUT OF HERE RIGHT NOW!!”
Raheem backed away, happy to be out of the room. He slammed the door shut as he turned and looked around for the tiny Asian man, but he was nowhere to be seen. The sounds of fast moving footfalls caught his attention and he turned as he saw a pair of large burly members of Security running up.
One of the men glanced down at Raheem’s backstage pass while the other one questioned him. “Sir, have you seen anyone back here without a pass?”
“Short weird-lookin’ Asian dude?” Raheem answered.
The two men looked at one another, then back at Raheem as they answered in unison, “Yeah!”
Raheem shrugged his shoulders, “No idea what you talkin’ about.” Raheem turned and walked away from the two men. He didn’t know what was going on, but he had no intention of helping anyone…especially the fake ‘boys in blue.’ Besides, he had things of his own to take care of.
Crystal was injured and he had no idea how to find her…and Sidney Grey had just thrown a serious monkey wrench into his plans. He would have to do something to fix this. Her alliance with the new Marquee Champion was the talk of the industry and it was sure to raise Sid’s stock…the one thing that Domino absolutely didn’t want. He would have to find a way to counter this move…he’d have to find a way to derail the momentum that Sid was starting to build.
He paused as the answer came to him. It wasn’t the answer that Domino would want to hear…but it was the best solution he could think of at the moment. Sometimes the best way to deal with an enemy was to make them an ally…

27 July 2014
Kenzi and SoLo stared at Sid as they sat across from her in the backseat of the limousine as they left the arena. They were both flabbergasted at the turn of events in the main event, in which Sid had allied herself with Summer St. Clair and laid waste to Crystal Hilton and Oni Kymiku. Despite the stares, Sid merely continued to recline back in her seat and sip on a dry martini, as if she didn’t have a care in the world.
“WELL?!” Kenzi finally yelled, unable to take the uncomfortable silence any longer.
Sid sat her drink down, pulling the olive from the glass and popping it into her mouth. “Well, what?”
Kenzi threw up her hands in frustration, “Well, what?! That is all you have to say after what just went down out there!!”
Sid smiled, slow and devious, “I didn’t walk out as the Marquee Champion…but I traded it in for something a whole lot better! Crystal Hilton is FINISHED!! She crossed me and now she and Cynthia Warren can hobble off together with their matching bedazzled leg casts!” She sipped her drink, then added, “You try to embarrass me…you pay the price!”
Kenzi shook her head in utter disbelief at the callousness of her mother’s words. “Mom…that woman had a stupid picture of you hanging in an arena…and you just tried to break her leg! I am not seeing any rational thinking here!!” She turned to SoLo, “Will you PLEASE talk to her So?! Tell her how crazy this is!!”
SoLo wrung her hands nervously as she looked at Kenzi and then Sid. After a moment, she turned back to Kenzi, “I don’t like this Ken…I swear to you that I don’t…but…we have to be concerned about the bottom line right now.”
Kenzi was taken completely off guard by her friend’s answer, “You aren’t seriously agreeing with this, are you?”
SoLo shook her head. “No! Not with the way that things went down…of course not!” She took an even breath as she held up her smart phone, “But we can’t argue with numbers…right now, Ms. Grey and Ms. St. Clair are trending and my inbox is filled with requests for interviews.” She put the phone away and shook her head. “I don’t want anyone to be hurt…but what’s done is done, and I have to take advantage of this or we will lose everything that we’ve worked for over the last 8 years.”
Kenzi’s mouth fell open in complete shock, she couldn’t believe what she saw tonight and she couldn’t believe what she was hearing right now…
Candid Moment: Kenzi Grey
This is like the fucking Twilight Zone! I can’t believe this…I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THIS!! My mother is acting like a goddamn savage and SoLo is actually co-signing on that shit! Don’t get me wrong…the stunt that Crystal Hilton pulled a few weeks ago was foul, but my Mom didn’t have to go all next level on her ass. Attacking that Warren girl…probably the same thing with Scion…and now what they did to Crystal and that crazy-eyed Asian chick!
That is the one that scares me the most! There is nothing but hours upon hours of footage of this woman attacking people with barbed wire wrapped around her fists, attacking people with broken bottles…she’s completely insane! Is this REALLY a woman that you want to have upset with you?! I met her twice and that was two times too damn many!
As for Summer St. Clair…I don’t know if this woman is the ring leader or if my mother is, but neither of them seem like the kind to be watching the other’s back! They are running around LAW making enemies of everyone they meet…there is simply no way that this ends up good! Everyone needs to understand this…especially SoLo!
Kenzi took SoLo’s hand as she pleaded with her. “You have to do something about this…I don’t give a damn about ratings! My mother could be in some serious trouble here! That Oni woman is a certified nutcase!!”
SoLo dropped her head as she considered what her best friend had said. Maybe there was a way…but it required her to reveal bits and pieces of her past that she never had before. “Maybe I could talk to my sister…”
Both Sid and Kenzi answered in unison, “What sister?”
SoLo sighed, “Nyako…maybe she could say or do something.”
Sid sat forward, staring at her. “Nyako is your sister…so that means that Oni is also your sister…”
She shook her head, “No…it’s complicated…”
Candid Moment: SoLo
Is it bad that I never discussed my past with my employer before? To be perfectly honest, she never asked, so I never bothered to mention it. It simply wasn’t important and didn’t otherwise impact me in the performance of my duties. Nyako was adopted into my family and she was practically raised with me as my big sister until she just up and ran off. No hard feelings…now…I understand why she did it. It was her way of protecting me.
When I saw a chance to reach out to her, I took it. I thought it would be good for Ms. Grey to have someone decent to show her the way. All of that kind of blew up in my face when Oni showed up…but maybe that is part of the reason Nyako left. Everything that I have seen of Oni is terrible, to say the least. However…tonight…when I saw her actually trying to do the right thing out there, I have to wonder if she has turned over a new leaf or is this just some sort of game for her?
I know that what Ms. Grey did tonight with Ms. St. Clair is going to have serious repercussions, but I’m between a rock and a hard place here. I can’t take the high ground here and not capitalize on this situation. I made a promise to myself that I would save Ms. Grey’s show…and I am going to do everything that is in my power to make sure that happens.
Kenzi continued staring at SoLo quizzically, “Well?” When SoLo didn’t immediately respond, she expanded, “Are you going to uncomplicate this situation for us so we can understand what the relation is between you and them?”
SoLo looked at Kenzi and then at Sidney before finally shaking her head, “No…not now, it’s not important.”
Sid sat forward, finally fully invested in the conversation, “Look SoLo! I did not intend to draw Oni into this thing tonight…but it happened. I would REALLY appreciate it if you could help me smooth things over, if you have an in to make that happen…please use it!”
Kenzi stared at her mother, “Oh! Now you’re scared?!” Sid rolled her eyes as she sat back, picking up her phone and ignoring her daughter’s needling. Turning her attention back to SoLo, Kenzi took a deep breath, “I cannot believe that these words are going to come out of my mouth…my mother is right.” She wrinkled her nose as if she had smelled something foul. “Lord help me! She’s right about this So! If you have a connection that can make this okay…we need you to use it! Tell her that my mother was drunk or high on drugs…tell her something…tell her ANYTHING!”
“THAT IS HILARIOUS!!” Sidney yelled, drawing the attention of the two girls. She looked up from her phone with a broad grin on her face. “Oh! Sorry…Summer just instagramed me the cutest picture of Babycakes with the Marquee Title!”
She held up her phone and Kenzi and SoLo both rolled their eyes in unison. Sid waved them off, “Whatever!”
SoLo put her hand on Kenzi’s leg. “Ken, I will talk to Nyako and see what I can do…but I cannot make any promises. For all I know, she may not even talk to me after everything that has happened with her contract and my association with Sid. I might just end up making things worse!”
Kenzi put her hand over SoLo’s, “Just try…that’s all I ask! My mother isn’t going to…”
“OH MY GOD!! LOOK AT THIS ONE!! LOOK AT IT!!” Sidney held up her phone and showed them another picture that Summer had sent her. This one of Babycakes having a slight accident with the belt.
“Look! Look at the title of the picture…WHAT A PISSER!!” Sidney burst out laughing…
Candid Moment: Sidney Grey
I’m I angry that I am not The Marquee Champion? Let’s just say that I traded up! Yeah…it would’ve been nice to walk out of LAW #11 with that belt around my waist…but that match was about something much bigger than that. Crystal Hilton had the gall to think that she could try to embarrass me in front of the entire world and get away scot-free? Oh, HELL NO! I needed everyone to see what happens when you cross me!
Plain and simple, I cut a deal with Summer St. Clair a long time ago! If she made sure that I advanced by taking out Ash Scion, the one person who had blemished her record in LAW…I would make sure that she got what she wanted! Summer got gold and I got to get my hands on Crystal Hilton and make her pay through the fucking nose in front of the entire world! Every woman that I have set my sights on has been eliminated from LAW…look for yourself and see! I may not be The Marquee Champion…but you better believe that my name has just as much value as any other champion in this company, and there is no putting a price tag on that!
This little ‘misunderstanding’ with Oni is just a hazard of doing business the way I see it. What I did to Oni tonight wasn’t at all personal…I made a snap judgment when she made the wrong call. Yeah, I knew her ribs were a little sore after our earlier meeting when I gave her a nice little hug…so I took advantage! It was just love taps…warning shots at best. If SoLo can call in a favor with her sister and smooth things over, so much the better…but if she can’t…I have ZERO problem with eliminating one more annoyance from the LAW roster on my way to becoming The Queen of the Ring!
Fast forward to LAW #12 and you can already see that the stock between myself and Summer has gone through the roof! The two biggest attractions in all of LAW…facing off against the two biggest disappointments in all of pro-wrestling! Kate Steele and The Doc showed the world that they have NO business being featured by this company! The Doc got a big fat “L” on her record tonight and Kate Steele let a noob drag her around the ring like a doe-eyed jobber! It’s no wonder that Lucas put us in a match against the two of them. He’s not looking for us to give them a rub…he just wants us to rub them out!
Everyone knows that you bring in the big guns when you want to put on a big show…and when you are looking at Summer and I, you are looking at the two biggest guns in the game right now. The two of us are must-see-TV and the majority of the LAW roster is a gigantic snooze-fest wrapped in a boring wet blanket! With the pay-per-view just a few weeks away and a dud for a World Title match planned, you can look at LAW #12 as a hard reset. Once Summer and I step into that main event and destroy those two pretenders…you are going to be looking at the only two Alpha females left standing for The Queen of the Ring!
Kate and Doc…I know that you’re watching this and you’re probably doing everything that you can to find a way out of this match. I hope you do…I REALLY hope that you do! As much as the two of you don’t want to be embarrassed in the ring for a second straight show, the management of LAW doesn’t want to have to keep paying for ambulance rides!
Doc, you’re in a better position than most of the women in LAW, since you have an actual profession to fall back on once we run you out of wrestling. I don’t want you to feel bad…for a shrink, you made a damn good accounting of yourself. You inched your way past a couple of curtain jerkers and you pulled off one hell of a miracle when you fooled the LAW brass into thinking that you were worthy of being the number one contender. That’s quite an accomplishment, in and of itself. It will be a great story to tell to your children…when they ask you how their mommy ended up in a wheelchair!
And lastly…Lil’ Miss Ultra-Violence…Kate Steele! It’s great that you have a bitching nickname that explains what you are all about…since you appear so infrequently on the shows! I mean, how do you even GET a nickname like that when you hardly even get into the ring? Hey! Don’t get me wrong…I enjoyed your match last week…watching you flip your lid like a bush-league rookie was hilarious! However…you also have to consider the competition…and struggling with a noob to a double countout…isn’t the hallmark of a champion. At LAW #12…you are going to find out what a real champion and number one contender looks like when you find yourself standing across the ring from Summer and I. The best thing that you could do would be to drop that belt at our feet and take Doctor Who with you!
I am sorry if anything I had to say hurt anyone’s feelings out there, but so I hear, the truth fucking hurts! While Summer and I are standing on top of LAW drawing fans from all over…most of you chicks can’t even draw flies! Everything that I just said is 100 percent true…it is plain and simple reality…and you best believe that around here…REALITY BITES…and so do we!!
