Tampa Bay Florida,
Steele Home.
Everything comes into focus and as it does we are taken to the home of Kate Steele. She is sitting down in the living room and her legs are all jittery as she bounces them up and down repeatedly as her eyes are locked on her television. What is playing on the television screen you might ask? Well it’s simple… She is analyzing footage from the first LAW show, and to be more precise her eyes are locked on the Morgan and Skye Sparks match. She watches intensely as Skye Sparks can be seen ascending to the top of the ropes. She launches herself off going for her top rope move and just as she is about to crash down on Morgan, Morgan throws her knees up catching Sparks right in the chest. Kate leans forward to keep on watching and just before she can get to the conclusion of the match the television screen is turned off. Kate throws her hands up frustrated and that’s when her husband Todd walks into the room. He shakes his head as he looks down at his wife.
Kate: Hey what the hell was that for?! I was watching that…
Todd nods his head as he keeps his eyes locked on her. He can’t help but chuckle as he begins to reach out to her.
Todd: I know you were… I just got a call from Cynthia. She told me that you were a little too confident in your sparring session today. She told me that you didn’t have any fears of stepping into the ring with the likes of Morgan and how you were about your high horse a bit. I just find all of that funny considering the way you been sitting here for days watching the same footage of Morgan again and again. For someone who has no worries about facing her in the ring you sure are putting a lot of time into studying her every move. Not to mention the way you get all jittery when watching that match…
Kate crosses her arms as she slowly lifts herself off of the couch. Her eyes turn over to that of her husband’s as she walks over to him.
Kate: I am not scared… Just thinking about the match and what I need to do in order to not lose to the likes of this Morgan chick. Just from studying over what Skye did I have come to the conclusion that her biggest downfall was the fact that she flat out made a mistake against Morgan. If I am to beat this woman I can’t make any mistakes. I just need to go in there with the killer instinct and get the job done. Nothing less and nothing more.
Todd disgustedly shakes his head as he slowly walks away from her.
Todd: Yes don’t make any mistakes… Kate we are all bound to make mistakes at times. That’s a part of being a human. To understand that mistakes were made and knowing from the concept of trial and error what it takes to not make the same mistake again. Mistakes they destroy us. They mold us, they build us. They lift us up and are the best form of constructive criticism that we have so that we can build ourselves up again. It honestly doesn’t get any better than that and it’s those mistake that make us real. Now when you look at this Morgan chick the fact that she is unbeaten is a little far fetched to me. I mean come on she’s unbeaten but who the hell has she beaten?
Kate: Well she does have 36 victories under her… I mean she did beat Skye on the last show…
Todd just rolls his eyes not impressed by any of it.
Todd: Ok so besides Skye since we all witnessed that match who else has she beaten besides her?!
Kate thinks about it for a few moments before she shrugs her shoulders at her husband as she glances back into her husband’s eyes.
Kate: To be honest I don’t even know… And even if I did name some people I wouldn’t be sure on who the hell they were…
Todd: That’s exactly my point, Morgan might be this major star… Or at least in her own mind she might be a big time star but why is it that I have never even heard of her? Hell I haven’t even heard of that Crystal chick that she parades around with. To be honest the only Crystal that I even know is the one who taught you how to wrestle and she has over 9 years of wrestling experience. You didn’t spend two years learning from the All Star Wrestling Gym, Absolute Wrestling Academy, Phoenix Wrestling Academy, and Crystal Hilton for you to fail them because of some chick that we never heard of. Let’s be real here. As much as you have never heard of her she hasn’t heard of your name either. She doesn’t know what you are about when you step in the ring.
Kate thinks about it for a few moments as her husband continues to speak to her.
Todd: Ok let me break it down in another way. Let’s be honest here the only reason Morgan is even a threat is because she has a big mouth. Aspirations and ridiculous dreams that it’s a foregone conclusion that she will be in the finals for the World Championship. However you don’t need to be the loudest to make an impact out there. After all you are all about silence being golden, and sometimes you just need to be like my boy Clyde Gates from the New York Jets. He is by no means the loudest, he is often quiet but when he is out there on the football field you just know something is about to go down…
Kate quickly raises an eyebrow as she looks back at Todd.
Kate: WHO?!?!
Todd: ...Stop playing Kate you know damn well who Clyde Gates is…
Kate: WHO?!?!
Todd cracks a grin as he looks at Kate as he pats her back lovingly.
Todd: That’s exactly my point… Who… It’s a name that doesn’t mean anything to you, and I am sure that is how Morgan probably feels about you as well… And that’s how you definitely you should be feeling about Morgan in return. She isn’t anybody. What the hell has she honestly done that you know about?
Kate:...
Todd: Just all talk...That’s the only thing that you really know about her is from the stuff that she goes about talking herself up… Don’t buy into that garbage. Just go out and do what you do best… Shut her the hell up and stop the talking after silence is golden right?
Kate slowly nods her head in agreement as she stares back at her husband taking it all in.
Kate: I think I understand what you are trying to say but there is still something I need to know…Just one question I need answered...
Todd: Sure babe you know I am here to help you out… Go ahead and ask me anything…
Kate: Who the hell is Clyde Gates?!
Todd just stands there speechless as he shakes his head not knowing what to say as we fade out on that image.
So I guess it’s almost showtime…
It’s almost the point where the two of us will be walking into Indiana Morgan and only one of us will be able to emerge as the winner of the match between us. As I told you in my last promo the power of one makes all the difference in the world and from glancing at your match from our very first show that took place in Detroit why should I honestly give a damn about what you are bringing to the table? It was by the power of one simple mistake that you have even made it this far in the tournament. When I glance at you I don’t see someone who is incredibly skilled. I don’t see a woman who seems to be this giant that can’t be beaten.
I see nothing more than a woman who needs to be brought down to the confines of a place that is called reality. I know it’s a place that you haven’t been at a lot but allow me to inform you of what is involved in the dwellings of reality. It’s the place where you find out that the world doesn’t bend to the whim of your fingers. It’s the place where the realization sets in that you aren’t as good as you think yourself to be. You been on top for far too long. Going night in and night out as an unbeatable woman and that sounds all fine and dandy but my question for you is what are you going to do if you do manage to get beaten by me?
Are you going to go about your way like you were never beaten before and create this falsehood that things didn’t happen in the way that they actually did? Will you be quick to leave the company embarrassed that you were beaten by the likes of a woman who you thought meant nothing in the wrestling world. I know your type Morgan and that’s what you seem like on paper.
Go around claiming that you are undefeated this, and undefeated that… You build all this hype up to yourself and with the snap of your fingers you lose it all and are left with nothing. You become a shell broken from what you once were, and you don’t know how to cope with what life had to present for you. So instead of learning from your mistakes learning to pick yourself up from the way that you fell you choose to ignore it and keep on making the same mistake again and again, and expecting a different result because of it.
That is the definition of being insane at it’s finest…
You can’t be great all the time, even the best stumble at times. I mean let’s take a look at Michael Jordan the best player to ever play the game of basketball. He is a man who shattered many records and no matter the player of today everyone is always quick to compare them to Jordan to see if they measure up. In the 1995 playoff series the same year that Michael Jordan had returned to basketball. He helped the bulls make a playoff push. His team played the Orlando Magic and despite being considered the best player of all time he just couldn’t get the job done as his team would eventually fall to the Orlando Magic.
Jordan couldn’t make the heroic return but following that year of losing. He redefined himself. He learned from his mistakes and in the following season he helped lead his team into having the best record of all time in basketball helping the bulls win an impressive 72 games and going on to win the World Championship.
You see Morgan Jordan fell so he could pick himself up.
And sometimes we all must fall sometimes. You could say that life was easy for me growing up as my father is a self made millionaire running his own company. And granting me my every desire giving me everything I could ever want in life. But I refuse to be the woman who asks for a hand out. I refuse to be the woman who stands there clapping her hands together waiting for daddy to buy her something.
I would much rather to prefer to create a name for my own self and earn something of my own. I can taste it. I am this close into making it into the semifinals of the next round. I am mere inches away from grabbing a hold of the destiny that belongs to me.
At 5’2 110 pounds it is easy to over look what I am about. It is easy to write me off like a blank check but in the middle of the Indiana ring. In front of all those fans you will see why I am dubbed as LiL Miss Ultraviolence… You will have a reason to never overlook me again.
I am Kath-Lyn Steele and on LAW I will be this much closer to obtaining my dream of becoming a World Champion.
Morgan reality can definitely be a bitch at times but you will see how much it is a bitch when I am pinning your sorry ass to the mat for a three count. Consider me the end of your World Championship aspirations.
Take your defeat and swallow this loss with pride. Learn what humility is… and remember… Silence is Golden…
See you out there Morgan...
