Feeling very awkward as she wandered through the hospital corridors, Alex held a bouquet of red roses and a note plastered pn the front. On which could clearly be seen the words:
Get well soon.
Alex

Finally finding the kocation of Sidney Grey's room in the hospital, Alex was shocked to see a girl who looked to be about her age, looking on with concern. It toom Alex a second before she realised who it was.

Kenzi turned and immediately recognized Alex. Every since the attack on her mother she had spent hours pouring over videos of her adversaries. Alex had been the last woman that Sid had faced in the ring before being attacked by the Sisterhood and then the Pink Ladies. When she first saw the girl, with flowers in hand she bristled, everyone was a suspect as far as she was concerned, but SoLo had been adamant that Alex was one of the ‘good guys.’ Despite the stunts that Sid had pulled on her, Alex was never one to bare any ill will against anyone.
Kenzi stood up, taking one last glance at her mother, then walked over to the door, closing it softly behind her. “Alex Yin…right?” As the girl nodded, Kenzi shoved her hands in her pockets. “Look…I didn’t want to be rude or anything, but I didn’t really want to talk in there with my Mom. I hope you understand. I mean…the two if you had this insane match…and then…what happened afterward.”
Kenzi looked down at the floor, not wanting to look her in the eye. “I know that I was a bit of an ass when I went on the Hot Seat…saying that you could have been involved…but Song set me straight on that. She told me what a good person you were…real…genuine.” She sighed and finally met Alex’s gaze. “I’m sorry for what my Mom was putting you through with your turtle and all. She does things sometimes that I really can’t explain…but…I’ve gotten good as apologizing, since I have to do it so much. I hope you can forgive her for it.”

Kenzi looked back over her shoulder at her Mother. Alex’s remark, even if it was in jest or mistake raised the hair on the back of her neck, still…SoLo had been insistent that the girl was a good person. Kenzi took a deep breath as she turned back to Alex.
“I’m doing okay…just trying to get through this thing, day by day is all. Mom comes in and out…so they don’t know a lot at the moment, so all I have is hope…and doing what I can to find out who did this to her.” She shoved her hands in her pockets. “Roxi has been a big help…but I feel like I need to be there…like I need to do more.”
Alex frowns. She feels like hugging the girl and telling her it will be okay but knows that's a bit much.
Alex: She'll get better, Kenzi. All you can do is be there for her.
Looking for some break of happiness in Kenzi, Alex found nothing.
Alex: I'm really glad she has you. I don't always get along with my mum, but I would wish all that I could for her to get better in this situation.
Alex was playing with the truth. Being the happily pampered only child she was to her very sweet-natured mother, Alex had barely ever had a cross word with her (nor could she imagine anyone less like Sid) but at the moment, Kenzi needed support. Alex tries to speak, but finds her voice cracking.
Alex: I hate what's happened. No-one deserves what you and your mum are going through. I...
It was at that moment that Kenzi realized that everything that SoLo had said about the girl was true. Alex was a girl that wore her heart on her sleeve and she truly cared for those around her…even the ones that had done her wrong. That was an extremely rare quality to find in a person. Others may have taken it as a sign of weakness, but Kenzi knew better.
She sat down beside the sobbing girl, unsure if she should put her arm around her. It seemed an odd reversal of roles. She had just been doing her best to cheer up Kenzi…but instead, she was the one breaking down. Kenzi put her arm lightly over the girl’s shoulder and pulled her in close. “I know that my Mother will be fine…she’s a tough lady. I have my sights set on finding out who did this and making them pay. Even if I have to lace up boots and get into the ring myself! I know a lot of the women in LAW think that I am just some spoiled kid…a B-movie actress…but I come from tough stock. If someone tests me…they will regret it!”
Kenzi stroked Alex’s hair. “Don’t cry for us…you save those tears for the people or the person who is responsible for this! Trust me…they are the ones who are going to need it”
Kenzi sighed, “I have to admit…for a time, I really thought that you might have done it…or hired those two buffoons, The Sisterhood to take my Mom out. But Song talked to me and told me what a good person you were…she said that you would never advocate something like that.” Kenzi raised her brows as she sighed, “Quite frankly…I am inclined to scratch The Sisterhood off the list after seeing them on The Hot Seat. Not that they aren’t capable of doing something like that…but they don’t seem smart enough to know to hide it. I’ll keep looking…I got my eye on someone who’s highly suspect at the moment. I’ll be seeing her at LAW on Sunday.”
It somehow felt more wrong to Kenzi that Alex was more emotionally torn by this than she was. It was apparent that the girl was a strong advocate for non-violence, but the fact of the matter was that violence had already be done in this case. Kenzi took Alex’s face in her hands and looked deeply into her eyes. “People have already been hurt…me and my people. People have to answer for the things that they do. I don’t want anyone to suffer like my mother has, but the reality isn’t always as pretty as we would like it to be.”
Kenzi gave Alex another hug and a kiss on the cheek before pulling away from her. “You really are a very sweet person Alex Yin…maybe the kindest person I think I have ever met. I don’t know how or why you got into this business…but I hope that it doesn’t change you like it did to my mother.” Kenzi went back to the door and stared through the window at her mother as she lay in bed connected to a network of wires and tubing.
