SoLo looked to her sister and then over at her Kenzi as she tried to calm the nervous feeling in her stomach that made her nauseous. She never thought she would find herself back inside a police station…especially after her last visit, but here she was. She and her sisters had come here to find answers to why Oni had seemingly turned away from them after the arrival of her brother. Over the last year she had grown to love having an extended family that had included the likes of Alex, Oni and Nyako…but the arrival of Senji Shinsuzuki had thrown that all into chaos.
After asking to see Detective Dillon they were taken to an interrogation room and sat down together. After a few minutes, the Detective walked in and SoLo felt her mouth go dry at the sight of him. She could tell by the way he was looking at her that he still suspected that she was involved in the assault against Kreese.
Steeling herself, she stood up and offered her hand to him. “Detective…thank you for seeing us. I…”
He ignored her outstretched hand as he assessed the three women. “Look ladies, I don’t have a lot of time here…so whatever this is suppose to be about…please make it snappy!”
SoLo put her hand down, embarrassed by his abrasive retort. Kenzi had no qualms about speaking up. “Look! You don’t have to be an asshole! She’s trying to be nice!”
Dillon turned to her, folding his arms. “No…you look! I have a job to do…I put bad people in jail! Your little friend right there should be cooling her heels in a cell right now, but she managed to beat that rap. So, please forgive me for not wanting to kiss her ass for kicking the judicial system in the nuts!”
He turned his attention back to SoLo. “I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings…but can you please get to the point of this visit…pretty fucking please.”
Kenzi started to get out of her chair and give him another piece of her mind, but SoLo put her hand on her shoulder to stop her. “Detective Dillon…we are here because we need your help…we need to know what’s going on with our sister…Kymiku.”
At the mention of Oni’s name, the Detective’s demeanor changed. “Ladies, I am a police officer, not a shrink or a family counselor! I don’t know what…”
SoLo cut him off. “I know that my sister came to talk to you about my brother a few weeks ago…and I don’t know what you told her, but she has been a different person every since! She won’t talk to us…she’s changed…and she’s constantly with him. She was terrified when she found out that he was coming to America…and now she won’t even leave his side? This makes no sense and I know she talked to you…we need to know what’s going on!”
Dillon looked at each of them in turn, then shook his head. “Ladies…this is police business. I can’t just start talking to you about an on-going investigation…”
