Book 1: Blood rain
Chapter 2: Ice wind
~Aug.12th, 2015~
The moon was full and her eyes were red as blood. She jumped down from the second story window and ran off into the night. Her footsteps didn’t echo as she ran from the manor. No rain poured from the sky thanks to the absent of clouds. It was one of those nights where the Assassin went out for a kill alone. She had to do this alone and that’s what she was best at…being alone. It was painful for her that even though she was with others, in her heart she was alone. No one else was like her and she swore so many times she should be dead for the things she did. She felt that she was just a freak and, one day she’d be the hunted. As much as she’d stay in control of her urge, she’d relapsed.
Her name was Lucy Seraphina and she was a magi-blood mutant. The woman was cursed with vampirism in her. Yes, this woman who was born a magi-blood had it mutated by accident. It was a basic hunt but it turned into something much worse. With one bite, Lucy’s world turned even darker. She tried to hide the fact she fed on blood from her family, but that didn’t even last long. Lucy felt screwed up, she felt like she wasn’t supposed to belong with her family. At night Lucy took herself away from them to walk amongst the “damned” if you wish to call them all that.
Lucy found herself stopping in front of “Lestat’s café”. A small place where vampires, mutations and anyone who fancied blood could go in. But the normal public only thought it was a club for Goths. Lucy rolled her eyes at the thought of that stereotype. Lucy opened the door and walked in, the building was dimmed with smoke in it. It wasn’t that dimmed of lighting where you could trip over yourself. No, it was dimmed to give off a nice atmosphere for the guest. Lucy took her hood down and walked over to her usual place at a booth. Within minutes a “waitress” came over to her.
“Hey Lucy, want the usual”? She asked.
“Please Moryse; it’s been a long day”. Lucy said in a near whisper.
Moryse nodded and walked away. Lucy sighed and leaned back feeling the fabric against her head.
“That was a load of bullshit; I can’t believe that we had to take on that many. Oh they so owe me”. Lucy spoke to herself.
Lucy opened up her laptop and started writing in a word document…
September 14th, 2014
The first thing that will scare me is my Father. That man is pure evil and I’m not sure who he is. That makes this even worse; I won’t know what he has in store for us or what he’s capable of. My Father tried killing me months ago but a certain someone saved me from dying…or well possible a coma. Thinking about my Father is hard, I had a feeling once ago though he was a kind man…or maybe I’m just wishing too hard. I have no idea but I do know his power is amazingly strong, I know he and many others of the Seraphina blood line use black magic. It’s in our veins and for me, I’m a mix blood. I’m a green-black magi-blood by birth. Green is the element of Earth while black in the element of Darkness. Unlike my Father and my Brother I don’t use black magic in my practice or fights, I forbid it. Only the powers at be know what can come from the use of it. For the unknown and the dark arts, I fear my Father. I wish this wasn’t true but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t.
The second thing that scares me is the fact I’m a blood-mutant. If you don’t know what that is, it’s when something foreign comes in contact with the blood. The blood tries to fight it off but ends up fusing together. Unfortunately for me, I was mutated with vampire…so yes I drink blood but not as much as a normal one does. I fear though I might become out of control and possibly either turn or kill someone. Maybe that’s why I’m anti-social for the main part; maybe it’s this I’m hiding and all. Right now I’m typing this at Lestat’s café. It’s a place where blood drinkers come to get a “pint”. Haha, get it pint? Oh you know what I mean! Blood jokes, gotta love them.
I know Claude, Rachel and Rhoda are back at the manor and I bet one if not all of them are up waiting for me. They know I tend to sneak out at night but I don’t tell them why per-say. It’s best they don’t know I come to drink. Right now I’m waiting for my friend Moryse to come back with my favorite; Blood Vodka on the rocks. After what happened today I sure as hell am going to need it. It started with a simple vampire hunt but turned into something more…
~Earlier that night~
Lucy Seraphina found herself in New Orleans waiting for Melanie Gabrielle and Michelle Anxo to arrive. Lucy took in a deep breath of the night’s cool air. She hated these kinds of hunts, the hunts where vampires were involved. Lucy knew that they could smell their venom in her and it made her shiver each time. Yes Lucy was bait if you thought about it but the angel could care less. As long as she wasn’t bitten again and the hunt went smooth, she was fine with it. Lucy heard two sets of wings swoosh causing her to look over. Both Mel and Michelle were mere feet away from her.
“So you drag me away from possibly getting laid for a hunt eh”? Lucy had asked.
“Oh you’ll live”! Mel rolled her eyes.
“Plus we got a job to do; lustful desires of oneself have to wait”. Michelle added.
Lucy couldn’t argue with Michelle, she was right. They had a hunt to take care of and, anything Lucy wanted would have to wait. Michelle took out her bow and arrows while Mel got her guns ready. Lucy already had her hidden blades strapped to her arms. Lucy also had daggers hidden on her too. The trio without any delay start walking down an abandon road.
“So how big is the nest”? Lucy asked.
“Michelle scoped out the place she said around five of them from what she can tell”. Mel replied.
“Shouldn’t be that hard”. Michelle said.
“Chelle you know vampire nest aren’t to be fucked with”. Lucy told her.
“Yeah I know tell me something I don’t know”. Michelle shot.
“Enough you two. Focus or you’ll get bitten remember what happened last time”. Mel started to say.
That shut them up and Mel knew it. About ten minutes later the three ladies were in front of a decaying house. It was a now muddy blue color with some of the roof gone, the windows broken out and, the front door nearly off its hinges. Mel loaded her guns up; Michelle loaded her bow with an arrow and Lucy got her blades ready. Lucy walked away from the group and toward the house. They knew that the other vampires in the house would smell her and come crawling out to see if it was one of their own. Just on cue vampires walked out from the house.
“Who are you”? One of them asked.
“Your death”. Lucy growled.
The vampires hissed as the three started to attack. There was more than expected, instead of five there had to have been at least fifteen to twenty five of them. Lucy was jumping all over the place, stabbing them with her special silver hidden blades. Mel on the other hand was using light spells to burn them and Michelle would finish off where Lucy would leave off on. Michelle stabbed them with wooden stakes causing them to die. After the trio thought they were finished more vampires sprayed out from the house.
“Holy shit”! Michelle yelled.
Back on the attack, the angels tried to move swiftly. They were facing an army right about now, they couldn’t tell you how many though. It felt like hundreds maybe even thousands. The three tried to fend themselves off but they were become over powered. A few of them pinned Lucy to the ground and Lucy started to become scared.
“Lucy”! Mel screamed.
“Help”! Lucy screamed back.
Lucy felt fangs brush against her neck. Lucy felt fear course in her veins as a tear spilled from eye. A loud scream of anger ripped through the air and Lucy shielded her eyes. Both she and Michelle knew Mel went into what she called “Phoenix mode”. Mel would burst out with light around her body. It causes the army to burn into ashes and Mel passed out onto the ground. Michelle got up and Lucy soon after.
“You alright Lucy”? Michelle asked.
Lucy nodded picking up Mel.
~Normal time~
“Thanks Moryse”. Lucy said as the waitress placed a glass in front of her.
“No problem and it’s on the house”. She said walking away.
Lucy took a sip of her drink as she continued to type her log entry in. Lucy couldn’t help but to feel like she forgotten something.
But I feel like a storm is coming, like the final battle is going to come soon. There isn’t anything I can do to prevent this though, it’s just another cycle and we’re all pawns. My Father is leading this but he’s so hard to track. It’s like his ware bouts are non-existent. Mine and Lucien’s younger half-sister Lilium is out in Vegas near Phoebe and her boyfriend (I think they’re still dating either that or they’re getting married.) and Phe is pissed. I know Lilium is here for a reason but we’ll see why. Right now I’m gonna finish this drink and head home. I know Claude, Rachel and Rhoda are sleeping and I don’t want to keep them too long. This has been another Lucy entry, signing off.
Lucy shut her laptop off and looked and saw someone sitting across from her. Lucy smiled at the woman and a drink was place down for her.
“You’re not the only one who wants you know.”
“Oh really now? The other guy can smeg off for all I care. I came first!”
Lucy couldn’t help but to laugh at that.
“Well um…the guy is important you know.”
“How important?”
“We may or may not be dating.”
The woman had her drink close to her mouth, set the cup back down and looked at Lucy with a smile but a shock expression. Lucy showed a bit of nervousness.
“About damn time!”
Lucy felt relieved after hearing that.
“Who’s the dude?”
“Ethan Alexander.”
“Never heard of him.”
“You will soon maybe.”
“Maybe…”
“So yeah I’m game why not.”
“I’m glad you said yes. Did you talk to Rei?”
“She’s been busy with Claude.”
“Of course!”
The two of them laugh.
“Will I see you backstage?”
“Yeah you will.”
Lucy smirked and you could see the look in her eyes change. The woman blinked in surprise.
“That’s the Lucy we need. The Night’s assassin, the predator who wants blood. We don’t need this nice Lucy. I mean look what happened.”
Lucy looked like she was going to snap with that last sentence.
“Shut up! Wasn’t our fault! You and I and Rei and Michelle knows that. Twisted Roses cheated and they will get theirs soon! Just like those attackers on UWF.”
“But you did beat that Sam Marlow chick.”
“You saw that?!”
“Of course! I do watch it cause of you.”
“Awe thanks!”
The woman nodded and her phone played a text tone. She took her phone out and checked it.
“I gotta go. Thanks for meeting me out here.”
“Yeah no problem, I’ll see you soon.”
“Mhm!”
Lucy felt better as her craving wore away. She smiled to herself as she got up and left the café. Lucy took off running into the night. Lucy felt the wind flow through her hair as she took off. Lucy felt happy as no one in the London area could see that it was her running by. Lucy swore night time was for her to be alone or with Claude for the most part. It was when Lucy didn’t have to fear being herself at all, the darkness of night hid her away from the world and that didn’t both her. Lucy a few minutes later made it back to Rosangela manor.
Lucy carefully scaled up the side of the manor. She tried not to make nose in case someone was up. When Lucy reached the balcony, she flipped herself over the ledge and onto the flooring. Lucy quietly walked into the room and saw Rachel and Rhoda sleeping on the bed. Lucy only thought to herself that Claude was probably in the bathroom. Lucy exited the room and made her way downstairs. The manor stood still as no noise filled the air. Lucy sigh a breath of relief as she saw no one was there. Lucy made a stride into the living room and set her cloak onto the coat rack. Lucy then removed her blades and set them down onto the table beside the coat rack.
“The work of an assassin is never truly done. I don’t care what anyone says. We never stop; we never rest until the target is taken out. I’ve been doing this for years and to be honest it’s hard to give up. You make some kick ass money and you get this rep for it at times. Hell I guess I can say I’m a legal assassin.
I’ve been called a murder, a monster and stuff like that because of the mutation in me. People don’t understand how hard this is. Having to do the hunts, having to live with this and so much more. They do judge me for these things and in all honest I am so damn tired of this! I know people talk in the back and really they need to fuck off! I bet people in the back were laughing last show…but that right there just caused me to be angry. Really cheating? How mature!
Right now though I’m focused on Queen of the Ring and I am going to win this. I know I can and I am going to take everyone down. Just like in SCW, I’m undefeated in singles here in LAW. Failure isn’t an option for this and I swear this won’t fall. I am going to show you all why I am an assassin. I am going to make them all bleed and scream in pain! You all wanted this and now you got it, you got. I hope you all love it when the beast is out of her cage. Welcome to the nightmare…”
