Somewhere deep within Etsuko's gymnasium, it's just better to label it as such, both the Joshi and her keeper are seen kneeling down before a massive portrait up along the wall. Their hands clasped, they appear to be in prayer toward the figure we can only see the legs of because of the damn camera angle. Meaning no Red Lady tonight it would seem.
Etsuko: Red Lady, guide my spirit so that it may sing your praises upon Heaven's gate. Give it strength against temptation from the wicked.
Nikki: Red Lady, mark our words true in your service. That those who defy will be shown the light of their mistakes.
Etsuko: Give us years to serve you.
Nikki: Give us time to honour you.
Etsuko: Red Lady, give me the strength to forge forth your influence and grace.
Nikki: Red Lady, give me the skill to demonstrate your power and beauty.
Etsuko: Watch over us as we set out to battle.
Nikki: Your loyal vessel.
Etsuko: Your loyal martyr. Amen
Nikki: Amen.
Inside of the ring now, Etsuko begins stretching out her sides and arms arching them up above her head a few times. One then the other as Nikki approaches the ringside area carrying with her a small, sealed envelope. It takes the Joshi some time to notice though when she does it's all stop when she sees what her keeper is holding onto.
Nikki: Words from the Goddess.
That's enough to break anyone from their activities as Etsuko hurries up to the ropes anxious to hear what the Red Lady has to say.
Nikki: “Denied.”
Etsuko furrows her brow with worry that that might be it. Unfortunately...it is as Nikki shrugs and lowers down both the letter and envelope.
Nikki: Your prayers go unheeded, Etsuko, as is no surprise. The Goddess grants you nothing.
Etsuko: It is...understandable, Miss. Nikki. I could not forgive myself over my inabilities either. But, I still see the hope in this message.
Nikki: Oh?
People by now are probably assuming...there is no Goddess, everything is a fabrication of control. Well, there could be no argument against as it stands right now. The Red Lady has neither been seen nor heard from. But whether she's real or not, Etsuko takes the grace of belief. Crazy? Or simply a reminder of others?
Etsuko: It is a test being put out by the Goddess, she...she is not so quick to dismiss me forthright.
Nikki: And yet she doesn't allow your words to fully reach her.
Etsuko: It is as it should be, Miss. Nikki, I must earn the Goddess' respect once more through a showing of my abilities. In fact, it is better this way, don't you think?
Nikki crosses her arms just underneath her bust twisting her lips some as if attempting to hold something back.
Etsuko: I will show her what I can do.
Nikki: Do so, Etsuko, because remember; as your keeper, I fall along the same lines with the Goddess as you.
Etsuko: I understand, Miss. Nikki, I will not fail you either.
Nikki: Glad to hear. Have you considered your opponents at all?
Etsuko: Of course. Miss. Latoya seems a might confused over the purpose of this match, Miss. Nikki. Even if it is the byproduct of her excitement it is still a weakness I can hope to exploit. She will be reserved in her efforts, more alert, but the more alert one is the easier it can be to fool them.
Just ask those who go around looking for their keys only to realize five minutes later they're holding onto them.
Nikki: Impressively done, Etsuko.
Etsuko: However, she holds a dangerous edge about her. There is a problem between her and Miss. Chacilita.
Nikki: Oh? What sort?
Etsuko: A victory.
Nikki: Oh.
The blond looks to the side nibbling her bottom lip a little disappointed that that's all.
Nikki: I suppose it makes sense, but losses come and losses go. Remember, Etsuko, it's as the Red Lady says.
Etsuko: “A loss is only what you make of it. If you try to fight or deny it, then you are your own road block. Do not strive for one insignificant trophy when you can learn from a loss and take greater gold.” I have her lessons memorized as you have them.
Etsuko smiles, she smiles! Who'da thunk such a thing possible? One would assume such reactions to have been shocked straight out of her system by now.
Nikki: Very good, as you should have them. So Latoya is merely blinded by her obsession with being better than one.
Etsuko: But that could still have her pose a potential danger.
Nikki: True, but let's continue on. You mentioned a Chacalita?
Etsuko: A winner in her debut match, so a rogue as much as anyone to me in this match. I doubt though that she is a type to oversell her own victory.
Nikki: Momentum can still be a very dangerous thing to go against. Especially when she can begin riding the undefeated train.
Etsuko: After one victory?
Etsuko asks before throwing herself against the ropes figuring she can get some training in while talking. She flips over the top and slides back in under the bottom before rolling to her feet only to sprint and hit the other set coming up to a halt by the middle.
Nikki: Such things start at that, Etsuko.
Etsuko: I know. It's just,
Etsuko hits and flips the top rope again looking at Nikki upside down.
Etsuko: I had intentions of starting my own undefeated streak.
Nikki: If I had the remote right now, Etsuko...
A lump of air comes down the Joshi's throat as she takes the warning and makes her way back into the ring. There's a darker side to Etsuko and Nikki will sing it out if she had to that the collar is there for everyone's benefit. At times Mitzusaka can't help it and things...slip out. So the collar has become a near permanent fixture, the only thing that would make it permanent is if the shocking centre was implanted into Etsuko's neck. But since that's a little expensive, and holds a certain risk of death, the collar will suffice.
Etsuko: I am sorry, Miss. Nikki, I was not as I should be.
Nikki: No you weren't. Just get back to the names.
Etsuko: Yes, Miss. Nikki.
Etsuko only gives herself a moment to regain her composure, any longer and Nikki would just turn and fetch the remote.
Etsuko: You were correct in your assumption earlier, Miss. Nikki. The collar has already become a conversation piece. Miss. Kayla brought it up. Or, really, a Miss. Christy. A bio reader mostly.
Nikki: Then neither of them realize the potential danger they'd be in otherwise. I suppose they figure is is some sort of kink, that you get off on the shocks.
Etsuko shakes her head gently pinching the front base of her collar feeling the metal prongs pushing against her flesh.
Etsuko: I...I do not. I could not. Miss. Nikki, I was a terrible person who did horrific things to others before the Goddess found me. I do not wish to revert back, I will not!
Nikki: Then defend the necessity of the collar, Etsuko, beat back those who would try and remove it if you truly wish for their safety.
Not even a momentary pause as Etsuko removes her hand from the device and gives a stern nod of her head. If there's Kool Aid in this club, you think it's red too?
Nikki: Now that that's settled...
Etsuko: Yes, Miss. Nikki.
SO DON'T NO ONE TRY REMOVING IT!!! *ahem*
Etsuko: Miss. Amy is an interesting sort, I hope she only shares a name with Miss. Jennifer. I will admit, however, I am as in the dark with her as most others.
Nikki: Matches?
Etsuko: None. At least not within this holding. Whether it was the designation of her own design, there has not been much seen of her since her inception.
Nikki: A dark horse. But so are you, Etsuko. As little as you know about Amy, the same can be said in kind about you. Don't forget that.
Etsuko: I will not. But I am afraid it will lead to more talk of my current standing.
Nikki: Like I said, such discussion comes.
Etsuko nods her head then goes for the finish.
Etsuko: The last, and potentially most dangerous from what I know, is Miss. Michelle. A true powerhouse since her first match within this company. One loss and it's been straight up wins until just the other week.
Nikki: A roll up loss. If ever there was one to vindicate...
Etsuko: Which makes her a major threat in this match, Miss. Nikki. I am certain she will do everything within her power to regain her lost momentum and not turn that one loss into a spiral effect of decay and ruin to her career.
Nikki: It happens to most those who focus solely on remaining undefeated, or keeping up a win streak. Things I want you to ignore. One match, one victory, don't ever think about keeping count because those who lose often find themselves wondering too much where they went wrong and suffer because of it.
Etsuko: I understand, Miss. Nikki, the Red Lady didn't conquer her own division worrying about keeping track of a list, she did it one match at a time.
Oh. So...she's real then
Nikki: If that's the case, then let me ask you if it's your goal to eliminate everyone in this match.
Etsuko: While a possible goal, Miss. Nikki, it should not be something to strive for. Eliminations are only a mild victory compared to the true finale holding.
Nikki: It's why neither the Prince of Wales cup or the Campbell Bowl are ever held up.
What? I'm Canadian, hockey's gotta make it in here somewhere. Plus it fits.
Nikki: Focus ahead, Etsuko.
Etsuko: Focus on victory. Yes, Miss. Nikki.
Fade.
Etsuko: Red Lady, guide my spirit so that it may sing your praises upon Heaven's gate. Give it strength against temptation from the wicked.
