Hot off the heels of Validation 2016, LAW was set to roll into Orlando with a big show. The arena was open to the fans and they were pouring in to buy the latest LAW merchandise and meet some of their favorite stars, old and new. There were booths where fans could dress as their favorite stars, video game tournaments, and even a mini wrestling ring where trainers were safely showing young fans the ropes to the amusement of their parents.
Outside the arena, a long black car pulled up and inside it sat Kenzi Grey, her mother Sidney and their bodyguard Bobbi London. Kenzi sat back in her seat, visibly upset that she was being forced to go to the arena and promote an event that she wasn’t schedule to be at. “I don’t WANT to go out there! Why am I going to waste time helping them sell tickets when they can’t even be bothered to put me on the show?!” She sat forward, with her eyes blazing, “Do you know who IS on the show…and in the main event no less? KEIRA FUCKING FISHER! THE SHIT NUGGET THAT I BEAT AT VALIDATION!!” She sat back, rolling her eyes, “No! I’m not going on there in the fields to pick cotton so they can get paid next week while I’m collecting dust! No fucking way!”
Sidney sighed as she glared at her daughter, then leaned in close to her, then grabbed her roughly around back of her neck, pulling her right into her face. “I don’t recall asking you to do this…I’m telling you to do this!” She gave Kenzi a hard shake then shoved her back in her seat. “At least you recognize what the brass at LAW is doing…so I’ll give you kudos for that! However, resting on your laurels won’t get you anywhere in this business! You take what you want…because if you wait…it’s going to pass you by!”
Kenzi smirked, “Well I…”
Bobbi flinched as Sidney smacked Kenzi hard across her face.
It was all the large woman could do to keep herself from grabbing Sidney to pull her away, but she turned and looked outside, doing her best to ignore what was happening. She wasn’t happy about it, but Kenzi had made it clear that she was not to do anything except what she was being paid for…and against her better nature, she bit her tongue.
Kenzi rubbed her face as hate radiated off her like a furnace. Sidney stared right back at her, nodding as she did. “You’re angry and upset? GOOD! Use that when you go out there. It’s obvious that LAW is going to do everything that they can to bury you and your win last week. It’s already started with you off the card and Fisher in the mainevent…and what’s worse? The Queen of the Ring is full to the brim with women that didn’t even come close to having the match that you had at Validation…let alone winning!” Sidney smirked, “If you’re looking for your motivation…look no further than that! In their eyes…you’re nothing…and you never will be anything. Is that what you are? Are you a nothing?”
Kenzi stared at her mother, her chest heaving, but she didn’t answer.
Sidney leaned in closer, “I asked you a question…are you a NOTHING?!”
Kenzi’s eye twitched as she answered, “…no…”
Sidney reached over and grabbed her by her hair and yanked her over again, “SAY IT LIKE YOU FUCKING MEAN IT WHEN YOU SPEAK TO ME!”
Kenzi screamed, “NO!! I’M NOT!! I’M NOT A NOTHING!”
Sidney shoved her back, “You got that fucking right! You’re not a nothing…the people that have been demeaning you…they are all just jealous fucking cunts that wish they were you! They wish they were in your shoes…modeling, acting, singing…and one of the top talents on the roster!” She chuckled, “That’s why they bully you, you know? The ones that call you names and tell you that you’re no good…they are jealous of you…and they want to be you! The ones that pretend to be your friends?” Her face turned as hard as stone, “They are the worst ones of all! You think they want to be close to you…to hang out with you and have fun?! THEY DON’T!! They are either trying to take what you have…your money, your fame, or just to get you into bed…don’t ever trust a single fucking one of them!”
Kenzi was quiet for a moment as she thought back to the girls on social media that she frequently talked to. Some of them like Jamilyn Cornett and even Amy Jo Smyth appeared to want to help her, however she remained reluctant to really allow either of them too close to her. Jamilyn had seemed like she wanted to help, but the people around her made Kenzi wary. Alexis Blake for one, always attacking her and calling saying how she wanted to hurt her…and then even worse, was the girl’s father who would randomly enter her conversations to belittle her. In Alexis’ case, she could understand that since they were peers…but when grown men were cyberbullying a young girl, that was just plain creepy as fuck! As for Amy Jo, or Aims as she had taken to calling her, the verdict was still out. One moment, the two of them would be having a friendly exchange and then the next moment, Aims was sounding like someone had shoved a ‘Jenny Tuck Speak and Say’ up her ass with the volume cranked up. She knew that Aims was friends with the women that hated her, but she seemed like a strong independent woman at times…making up her own mind and trying to do the right thing…then at other times, she was anything but. She didn’t trust Aims or Jamilyn or any of the girls who claimed to be her friend or want to help her. In the end, they would all leave her or stab her in the back…she had lived that moment painfully when Alex Yin had gutted her before Validation. Maybe in these matters…her mother had a point.
”DID YOU HEAR ME?!” Sidney yelled, again boxing her daughter’s ears to get her attention.
Kenzi answered, more firmly this time, “YES!”
Sidney stared at her for a moment more, then gestured for Bobbi to open the door. As the large woman got out of the car, the shocks let out a groan of relief. Sidney looked outside at her, “Be sure to keep her out of trouble!”
She nodded as Kenzi got out of the car, rubbing her face and hoping the redness had abated. She looked over her shoulder at her mother, plastering on a fake smile, “Goodbye mother.” She slammed the door and started walking to the arena, still with a slight limp. She threw her head up over her head as she donned a pair of black shades, making her way into the building where she had no idea who she’d run into…
