“Three hours?! Are you serious?!”
“Calm down Lu.”
“UGH!!”
Milisandre paces back and forth in front of the gate for her flight back home to Oregon. Her eyes brimming with tears and a snarl of rage on her lips. Her slender frame shaking as she fights between screaming and crying. Her phone goes off with an alert and she stops in front of Bruce. Looking at her phone she see's a tweet from Sarah.
@redqueenssl: Wanna talk? @throneofthecrow
That's all it took for the tears to come, hot and fast. Mil kicked off her shoes and curled up in Bruce's lap and responded.
@throneofthecrow: sure, I guess.
Mil wiped her eyes on the sleeve of her shirt and scrolled through her Twitter feed. Sarah tells her that one of the guards told her about the fight she had had with Kenzi. The reason Mil was in the airport waiting. They continue their conversation, some parts drawing odd looks onto Mil's face.
“Everything alright?”
“Yeah, just, like, tweeting with Sarah. We might not be going to Oregon tonight either.” Mil looked up at him and smiled.
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah, Sarah almost has me convinced to go back. That is if I can get these tickets refunded.” Mil's phone once again goes off and draws her attention away from her boyfriend. “Oh, wow. So, like, I guess I get an allowance now. Or something.”
“The Queen is very generous to those closest to her.”
“Yeah. So, I guess we are staying. Still gonna see about getting these tickets refunded. Come on babe, let's go.” Mil climbs off of Bruce's lap and puts her shoes back on. She slides her phone into her back pocket and grabs Bruce's hand as they head for the ticket counter.

It was the day of the launch of Sarah Selena Lacklan’s #FirestarterClothing Brand aboard The Red Queen and Kenzi had been a wreck all morning long. The pressure of walking her first catwalk was HUGE…but the tension between her and Milisandre was even more stressful. While most of the Cool Kids joked with one another over the fashions that Sarah’s mystery designer LENA had chosen for them, Kenzi and Mil stayed as far away from one another as possible. Still, they couldn’t stop stealing glances at one another. Both girls had said things that that pushed the bounds of their friendship…and neither wanted to be the first one to give in and admit that they might have been at fault.
For Kenzi’s part, she had felt betrayed after Mil had told her that ‘she was backing off’ only to turn right back around after Etsuko accepted her challenge and assert her right to challenge for the Breakout Title as well. This left Kenzi to wonder if Mil was playing her or if she had simply misunderstood what Mil was ‘backing off from.’ If she wasn’t talking about the title…what in the heck could it have been?
Kenzi picked up her phone and tried to distract herself with scrolling through Twitter, but a quotable tweet popped up that seemed to fit their current situation a bit too closely. Before she could stop herself, she was retweeting it to the masses…
Retweeted ILLUMINATI
If you give up, it means you never really wanted it.
If you give up, it means you never really wanted it.
As soon as she did it…she fired off a tweet of her own. She couldn’t talk directly to Mil, the pain of their previous conversation was still too raw, but social media made it easier. She resisted the urge to look across the room as she sent her message…
@.Kenzi _Grey: I know someone close to me who really needs to listen to this and heed it. Milisandre, I'm not throwing shade, I'm being real. I have ZERO problem with you coming after the Breakout Title...I have a problem with you thinking I'll stand aside because you want it too! I'm not built like that and I didn't think you were either! Like it or not, I'm taking on Etsuko! If you want a shot, bring it on! If you want me to just quit, you'd better think again! I won't be bullied or guilt-tripped into giving up my dream! You should know better.
As soon as she sent the message, she felt much better. Communication was always better than silence. The two of them hadn’t said a word to one another since the blowup, just avoided one another and let the rift between them fester and grow. She waited to see if Mil would respond, still afraid to look over and see her.
@throneofthecrow: I don't want you to step aside. I want you to prove you deserve it more than I do. Give me the chance to fight you for the shot.
Kenzi looked at the response from Mil, and while she still didn’t want to fight her friend, at least their words weren’t angry anymore…at least she was now sure that the gulf between them could be bridged. She started to text her back, but instead, she put down her phone and walked across the crowded changing room. She came up behind Mil and put her hand on the girl’s shoulder, causing her to start a bit. As she looked up, Kenzi gave her a reassuring squeeze.
“That is all I wanted to hear Mili. You know I care about you and I don't want us at odds, but if we have to fight, let's do it in the ring…no more of this fighting…until it’s time to fight.
Milisandre stood up, facing Kenzi. She said nothing, just let her dark eyes search Kenzi’s for a moment. She tucked her hands underneath her armpits in her usual way. “Well, when it’s time for us to like, fight and stuff, I’ll be ready.”
Kenzi listened to what she had to say. Those were the words that she needed to hear to set things right…at least until it was time for them to finally duke it out. Kenzi gave a lopsided grin, “Mili...I love you, if you ever say I don't again, I will destroy you! Now…get those arms from around yourself and hug me!”
Mil untucked her arms and met the embrace of her best friend’s wife and it felt good to be back on better terms…of course, there was still the matter of her mixed emotions where it came to Sarah. Kenzi didn’t know about those conflicted feelings and she hoped that their little spat hadn’t opened her eyes to it. She loved Bruce…that was the love of her life…her attraction to Sarah was physical…nothing more…she hoped.
Kenzi held on to Mil, kissing her cheek. “You're like family to me Mili! Don't forget that! I love you!” Kenzi felt much better after the talk with Mil. The two friends seemed like they were finally back on track...still...Kenzi couldn’t help but wonder if they really were back together again. Something still nagged her about their fight…like there was still something there that was left unsaid. She pushed it from her mind, chalking it up to jitters about modeling for her wife. She patted Mil’s shoulder as she broke from the embrace and headed back over to get dressed.

Mil is sitting curled up in a chair in a hotel room. She is staring just off camera, with one of those thousand yard stares. “So, like, I guess I'll address the elephant in the room.” She blinks and then turns her eyes to the camera. “I lost. Big deal. Bound to happen sometime right? Nova won the match. Surprised I would admit that? Why? She didn't beat me. She won the match. The difference is, had she beaten me I wouldn't be getting back into that ring. Yet here I am, tag team match on Sunday.”
Mil turns her gaze from the camera, once again staring off into space. “You know what I would like? I would love it if I could face different people. Seriously, I'm sick of living Ground Hog Day. First match against Salvatore. Second match 4 way with Salvatore. Last match against Nova. Next match Tag team against Salvatore and Nova. Like, serious? For real? Like, really for real?”
She shakes her head and rolls her eyes. “This is ridiculous. The only good thing about this match is that I get to get one back on Nova. You got lucky last time. This time I'll make sure your luck has run out. You gave me my first lost. It's only fitting that I return the favor. But I will come back to you later. There is something else that is bothering me more than you do.”
A slim hand comes up to scratch at her cheek before running through her hair pulling some of it back and out of her face. “What really irks me about this match is how people are saying it's full of Breakout Title contenders. Personally, I only see two, at best. How does anyone consider Maria a contender seriously? She has won one match since I've been here. Cthulhu only knows how long it was before that that she won. How is someone I've beaten, twice, considered equal to me for anything? And yes, Maria, I DID beat you twice. I don't feel it, I know it. It's fact. In my debut, I bent you in half and made you beg me to let you go.”
“Then at Queen of the Ring, I tossed you out of the ring onto your head. Maybe that's why you can't remember? Either way, it doesn't matter, you are nowhere near deserving to be compared to Kenzi or me.” A mirthless chuckle escapes her small frame. “Then we have Nova. Who I can only assume is considered for the title simply because she beat me. There is literally no other reason for her to be considered for it. Which if that is, like, the case then cool. It just shows how well L.A.W. views me. That beating me is considered enough to earn a shot at a title. But that doesn't change the fact that she really doesn't deserve it. Something I will make sure of by the end of the night Sunday.”
Mil sighs and once again glances at the camera. “So, like, I guess I should mention the other elephant in the room. My partner, fellow #CoolKid, and close friend, Kenzi.” A deep breath precedes the slow exhale. “There is a lot I want to say. There really is. We've had issues lately with the whole Breakout title mess. I'm going to hold off on what I have to say to you for now. Simply because I feel that after we win this match on Sunday, that at the following LAW show you and I should step into the ring. Let us settle all of our differences and prove once and for all which one of us truly deserves that shot at the Breakout Title.”
She chuckles and grins. “Plus wouldn't everyone just love to see two #CoolKids fight each other.”
Another shake of her head throws some of her dark brown hair in her face. She absently brushes it aside, gazing off in thought. “But that is for then. Now it is Kenzi Lacklan and Milisandre Crowthorne, the #CoolKids facing off against the Happy Fun Time Club? Like, I doubt that you two will stay around as a team after this. Despite whatever beliefs you have that Kenzi and I will be at odds we won't. But you two might be. You both seem like the type that would turn on the other just to make them look good. We all want the same thing, sure. But, like, you two are way worse off than Kenzi and I. Despite the issues and the, like, friction, between us we are still friends. And we will have each other's back out there. Sure I said some bad stuff about leaving Kenzi alone. But she knows I would never do that. We have talked about this and we are gonna be there for each other. We are friends and a team.”
“Can you two say the same?”
Mil glances at the camera with a smirk. “I doubt you could. Word has it that Maria got married. Were you at the Wedding Nova? I didn't hear mention of Maria's good friend Nova being there to support her. Wow, its almost as if you two aren't that close after all. Not sure if either of you knew it or not but I was, like, totally the one who helped plan Kenzi and Sarah's wedding. Yeah, that's friendship. Ken and I are more like sisters than friends. That is a bond that goes beyond stupid petty squabbles.”
“So, like, don't think for a second that you two are gonna be more cohesive than we are. The fact that we are gonna win is almost certain. And yes, Nova, I said the same thing about our match. I was wrong then. Not now. I'm confident enough to say that we are going to win. It's nothing against you, really, but its, like, more that its basically two against one. You have to face us. Your partner is beyond worthless and you have been yoked from the start Nova. But you, like, have that fire and desire inside you right? You can totally overcome the odds and win. Stand stall in opposition to the wicked and evil #CoolKids. A knight in the most illustrious of armor. Handheld out in defiance saying 'no, you shall not' and puff our your chest.”
Once again Mil shakes her head and rolls her eyes. “This isn't some fairy tale. This is real life and it never works that way. You will stand there and try your hardest. You will fight that proverbial good fight to the best of your ability. But it will be your inept, worthless, sidekick that costs you everything. Your chance for quick advancement. Your fast lane to notoriety. All gone because you strew the short straw. Or should I, like, say you got the short bus? I honestly don't know which one of you two is worse. The super advanced Alzheimers Maria or the sickeningly happy Nova? Trick question, the answer is pick up a gun and blow my brains out.”
Mil brings a hand up to her head and pantomime's shooting herself. “I'm, like, so over this match already. Can we, like, just cancel it and let Kenzi and I have the night off? Let us get nice and rested for that number one contenders match that is totally gonna happen at L.A.W. seventy-one. That sounds like a plan to me. But that I ain't that lucky so I guess I will just have to settle for beating you two. Maria, I'll leave you to Kenzi, I know you two have some unfinished business. But I'm gunning for you Nova. You have payback coming. You avoided it last time. This time around you won't be so lucky.” Mil looks deadpan directly into the camera.
“Prepare to bow down, bitch.”
Fade.
