PROLOGUE: THE GRAFFITI ON THE TRAIN
As she was backed into the train, feeling the thud of the cold metal against her back, she tried to scream but couldn’t. As an eighteen year old girl, she’d drank enough alcohol to be able to handle it a little, but this night had been different. Her drink had been spiked with something and now she was about to get raped by two tramps because of it. Years later, this would repeat itself for her friend, Angelica Vaughn.
Feeling the finger prod against the soft cotton of her underwear was what broke her out of the spell, momentarily at least and she kicked out, not even sure she was going to connect. In that second, everything became slow motion and she sighed with relief when her foot found something fleshy, his balls. Then things sped up and she found herself running for her life, never looking back although she’d convinced herself that one of them was right behind her, miraculously keeping up with her.
“COCK TEASING CUNT” Had been the yell she’d heard and she knew that they were far away enough so she could slump and get some rest, sadly, she’d chosen a puddle to sit in, and that is where she stayed for the rest of the morning, cold, afraid and never more lonely and desperate than she’d been in her whole life. That was the morning that Aislynn Moore realized that life had teeth and it would bite you with them whenever it pleased.
SCENE ONE: IN A MOMENT

“You think you've got it all
The writing’s on the wall
You're praying to your Lord
Searching for your soul”
Aislynn stumbled to the front door of her parent’s home and used her key to get in. There was no one home and she was glad of that, she wasn’t entirely sure she could put up with the accusing questions from her mother and she was certain that she would never deal with the “I’m not angry, just disappointed” look that her father always gave her any time she did something wrong.
Stumbling through to the downstairs bathroom she stripped out of her clothing and stepped into the walk in shower, washing the dirt and shame off of herself, the hot water providing comfort after the events from earlier that morning when she had felt so hopeless. Right now, life was handing a big old steaming shit sandwich to her and expecting her to gulp it down eagerly, before asking if she could have some more.
Fresh sobs poured down her cheek as she stepped out of the shower, the light of the bathroom now feeling sickly jaundiced. She ran to the toilet and vomited again, the night before’s Vodka now deciding to pop back up for a little visit. That was when she saw it, that small little glimmer of hope. Except this wasn’t a glimmer of hope, this was the glimmer that metal gave off when the light hit it a certain way. One of her father’s razor blades.
Looking into the mirror, all she could see was the ugliness inside and it sickened her, literally. She vomited again into the toilet, before righting herself again, and once more looking into the mirror, the tears now streaming down her face. Did she really want to do this? Was this really the only way?
Looking down at the blade, it shined sickeningly in the yellowish light of the bathroom, blinding her already half shut eyes at one point, this was the thing that was going to end it all for her, all her years of perceived suffering, the pain inside herself, and here, in her right hand, was her saviour. Without hesitation, she dragged it across one wrist, feeling the pain as the blade sunk into her flesh, drawing a red line behind it, faint at first, then growing in colour as the blood began to spill down her hand, dripping on the floor. Then, she followed with the other wrist, looking down at them, the slits seemed to smile at her, as if gratified that they had finally got their wish.
Falling to the floor, dropping the razor, Aislynn curled into the fetal position, the blood from her wrists now beginning to dribble out in lines across the tiled floor of her bathroom.
“If you could rewind your time
would it change your life?”
Aislynn woke from her daze, the razor blade still in her hand. Panicked, she checked her wrist, no cut, no blood, everything was just fine. Unable to even think straight, convincing herself that she had indeed used the razorblade on herself, she checked the other wrist. Same old story, nothing there. Fearing for her own sanity, she threw the blade into the toilet basin, flushing it immediately before vomiting again. The fear of God put into her but with some semblance of sanity beginning to form in her brain she wrapped a towel around her and went to her bedroom, getting changed into some decent clothing before pouring herself a coffee.
“Cause you just need to know
The emptiness will go
In a moment”
How had this all happened? She knew she wasn’t the fuck up that had been handed everything in life but how, for that one second, could she have ever thought that she was so unneeded that she should take her own life in that way, the morbid gift for her parents to find later on that evening. That thought would not be leaving her mind for a long time, would come back to haunt her dreams some nights as well. She had grown up believing that this world was a romantic, nice place that would pepper you with kisses at every turn. No, the truth was much darker than that, this world had teeth…..
SCENE TWO: INDIAN SUMMER
“She was the one for me,
She opened my eyes to see,
She was the one for me,
Well alright”
From the diaries of Scott Davies.
30th September 2007.
Paris, some little café. That was the first time I saw her and there was something about her that just enthralled me. She couldn’t have been a day over 19 but I adored her from the start. She just seemed so confident in herself, like she’d never even experienced a bad day in her life. I knew I had to have her.
1st October 2007.
Well, that had been a mistake. She’d not even looked my way, just carried on taking little sips from her red wine and for not exactly the first time in my life, I felt inadequate. It wasn’t like I didn’t make an effort, we eye fucked and everything! Jeez, what have I gotta do to get this woman’s attention?
Ashley walked past the café, glass of red wine in her hand, taking little sips as she could feel someone’s eyes on her. Looking over, she spotted a handsome young man and momentarily, their eyes met and she made no attempt to turn away, looking deeply into his eyes with a smile. She made no attempt to go over and talk to him, however, she just continued walking past, seeing the disappointment in his face as she quickly took one glance at him.
2nd October 2007.
OK, what is this girl on? She blanks me yesterday and here I sit writing this after meeting her and speaking for what seemed like an eternity. Oh jeez, the dress she was wearing! Just thinking about her legs and breasts in that dress sends chills up me, I think I’ve got it bad for this girl, Ashley. She is amazing but she’s got this idea in her head about travelling across France on a train. I want to go with her but I get the feeling she’s gonna lead me to hell.
Sitting on the train, Ashley looked across at her boyfriend and winked. It had been a tough two years since the bathroom and the Graffiti On The Train, but over time, and with a lot of counselling, Ashley was now at peace, now she found herself on a train, not even two days after meeting a particularly handsome man outside a café. They’d got chatting about all sorts of shit and things just flowed.
Granted, the fact that he couldn’t take his eyes off her dress and more importantly, her breasts and legs were a bit of a turn off for her, but she would let it slide, after all, she needed someone to go with her and more importantly, she needed the sex.
Leaning over to him, she whispered in his ear “I have a gift for you later” as she pulled her boot aside. There was a little baggie inside, filled with white powder. He knew straight away what it was, cocaine.
“We pull into St Omer station in a couple of hours, I want you to snort this off of my naked body, then we’ll hit the pubs and have a good night out, yeah?”
He nodded, entirely uncertain of what he’d gotten himself into that day at the café, but, he adored her. To call it love would be over thinking things and he never wanted to do that, but he knew at that moment in time, she was what he wanted. If that meant them snorting cocaine together, then so be it.
An hour later, they pulled into the station and Ashley and Scott walked out, looking through their maps to find the nearest bus station to get them to their hostel. Finding it eventually, they managed to catch a bus to the backpackers hostel they were staying. The first thing Ashley did was went to the bar, ordering a couple of beers and a couple of whiskey shots. Handing a couple of them to Scott, they made their way to their room, which is where Ashley downed her shot and leapt on Scott. She fucked him for hours.
4th October 2007
She’s amazing! I’ve never had such great sex in my life!
She woke up at around seven PM and nudged him, laying a line of coke just above her groin, the line of it almost hitting the thatch of pubic hair just above her vagina. He snorted it eagerly before doing the same for her, cutting a line on his stomach, just below his navel. Feeling her nose against his flesh sent sensations around him as the coke took hold.
“We could go out, or we could just pop down to the bar, get a few more beers and just have fun up here, what do you think? Be my Devil, Angel?”
He could not even reply, he knew what he wanted, her. The coke was making him feel weird but he was enjoying every sensation that was hitting him. Leaving the hostel room, he made his way back downstairs, ordering some beers and a bottle of Jack Daniels.
Making his way back upstairs had been fun, but what was waiting for him was worth the journey. She stood in front of him, completely naked and imploring him to explore her again.
He threw her on to the bed and once again had his way with her, the coke taking its effect as she screamed his name over and over again. They then drank Jack Daniels until the morning light rose.
1st November 2007
How could she do that? I loved her, adored her. The fun we had in France was amazing and now all of a sudden she just decides she doesn’t want me any more? I don’t think she realizes just how much I adored her. I’m done….Honestly done.
There had been one gunshot, one single gunshot.
Scott was awoken by the sound of the gunshot, Ashley was long gone and to a degree, he expected it. He’d had the two months of his life and he had got to spend time with her, nothing was going to change how he felt, not even walking past a room where a man had just shot himself. He was in love with a woman that he’d probably never see again.
“And the rain of November,
That's the time that we ended,”
INTERLUDE: STEP ON MY OLD SIZE NINES
It was a week before the match against the Sugay sisters and Ash was never more content. She’d faced harder opponents before and she’d been beaten by them. All that Ashley could really think about was the old couple stood before her.
She was just sat there on a park bench, just enjoying the view and thinking about Katie when she spotted them. Just dancing, they’d evidently been together for years and they still felt the same joy from each other. Ash wondered about her own life. Could she and Katie be in that position at some point, two old people just dancing because they loved each other? Could she turn to Katie and say “Step on my old size nines and I’ll take you round”
She yearned for that, she wanted to get so old with Katie that they’d have to support each other. It wasn’t simple, but it could be done.
SCENE THREE: PERFORMANCE AND COCKTAILS
Ashley stands in the shadows, waiting for Angelica.
Stepping forward, she takes the microphone and speaks
So, who wudda thunk it? We lost our last match, blah blah blah.
Was it my fault? Something that appears to be common discussion….Yes, it was, I tagged in when I should have just let Roxy get beat and then laugh at her..
Ash takes a walk around the backstage area before taking again.
I’m a big girl, I can stand up and admit to my mistakes and I made a massive one because I made my tag team partner look stupid. I made Angelica Vaughn look stupid.
At this moment, Angie walks around the corner, she looks worried.
”Have I missed something?”
You did miss this really cute kitten pass by, it WAS ADORABLE! I have no idea what it was doing here and questions could be raised about animals in the backstage area, but, it was still cute!
Angie looked a little upset, but the she spoke.
”Ash…Ash, you OK, I meant, have I missed anything, like, have the Sugay sisters made themselves known yet? I wanna see them! They seem so cool and I’m all like!”
Angie. Calm down, you didn’t miss them, I’m sure they’re around here somewhere, they seem active enough on twitter, posting their boob pictures, Goddamit, they have to be here.
”Ash…I’m concerned for them, I haven’t seen them and it makes me concerned that they might be a little….I can’t say it, Ash, I can’t say it”
Ange, we spoke about this, we spoke about ruffling feathers, right? You know what you wanna say, they’re a little bit…..Sexy!.
”That is what you took from this? You took my caution and apprehension because they’re too sexy? Jesus, it’s no wonder I’m the Future of Female Wrestling now. Jeez, woman, sometimes I worry about you, you take no match serious any more.”
Ashley bowed her head in shame.
”Sugay Sisters, you have no idea what you’re in for here. Do you even realise what stands across the ring from you? I’m not even going to kid here, I cannot be bothered. Ash?”
In a change of tone, Ashley Williams steps forward and takes the microphone, pressing it to her ruby lips, she speaks.
”What they are dealing with is everything they could never imagine! If you were to take everything that you have ever hated or feared in your life, it comes to about twenty percent of what we are. They say that Nero fiddled while Rome burned. Who do you think were his backup players?”
Ash stops, for a moment, taking a drink from her bag.
”Do you think we are just some joke, Sugay Sisters? Just because I made a simple mistake? You are already barking up the wrong tree. You are barking up against the tree of destiny, You are barking up the very tree that we are also barking up. Between the two of our teams. We are both the very best in this business and we all know it. The difference being that the tree of destiny favours you the same way it favoured Hilary Clinton to win the Presidential race.”
She stops for a second, giving Angie the last chance to finish the promo. Stepping forward she takes the microphone.
”You’re meeting the QoW, You’re meeting the team that in their last match, stood across the ring from the Boardwalk Angels. Do you seriously think that we are just going to let you leapfrog us? Do you think this is YOUR time? I can assure you two, it certain isn’t”
With this, the two partners walked away.
As she was backed into the train, feeling the thud of the cold metal against her back, she tried to scream but couldn’t.
