Domino shook her head with a crooked grin as she looked at the latest edition of CTN Insider magazine, which featured a full cover of Summer St. Clair with her Marquee Championship Title. The article had been a bit slanted in its reporting of recent events as it concerned Summer and Sidney Grey, but that was the point. She sat on the corner of her desk, “Not a single mention of Sid’s contributions…she’s not going to be very happy about that.”
Maleek Raheem’s voice chimed in from the speakerphone on her desk. “FUCK THAT OLD BITCH!”
Domino shook her head, “I suppose that centerfold…that’s you as well?”
He laughed, “I thought it was flattering fo’ an old ass woman! She should be happy I didn’t get my hands on some of those pictures that Crystal had taken! Bitch would be lookin’ real stupid in that shit!”
“Okay…so you are out of town on vacation this week?” she asked.
“Yeah! I won’t be filming anything for Th’ Rap Up!, until I get back. Just gonna be chillin’ and workin’ my shit wit’ Summer this week.”
She arched her brow, “You work fast…but not too fast I hope.”
More laughter came from the speaker, “Nah! I’m gonna have this bitch eattin’ outta my hand by th’ time I am done turnin’ her ass out! Wit’ Summer’s DVD out and us givin’ away Sid’s shit fo’ free wit’ every purchase, th’ magazine article out, and last but not least…my little side deal wit’ LAW which bounced Sid outta th’ Queen of th’ Ring brackets…Sid is gonna be on th’ verge of suicide! On th’ off chance that this don’t drive a wedge between her and Summer…I’m movin’ on wit’ plan D!” He paused for a moment before he elaborated, “You know what plan D stands for, don’t you?”
Domino sighed, “I am fairly certain that I know what it stands for in your sick little min…”
“IT STANDS FO’ TH’ DICK, YO!!” he yelled out from the speaker.
Domino shook her head. “Yeah…I got that. Okay, enjoy your…whatever it is you call yourself doing. Take care!”
She hung up the phone and sat there for a few moments longer. I part of her felt bad about sabotaging Sid…but that was the part of her that wasn’t about business. She had no time to be overly concerned with feelings when there was money to be made. CTN’s run with Sid and her reality show had been a boon for all concerned, but it had run its course and it was time to move on. Come October first, that contract would be ending, and she had no intention of renewing it. The deal she had cut with SoLo should have been a slam-dunk in the favor of CTN, but the girl had proven to be craftier than Domino had planned. In the end, it didn’t matter since CTN was massive and could spin things anyway they wanted. The ratings bump SoLo had spun would be a temporary at best. Once Sid was separated from Summer St. Clair, she would be forgotten and the rating for her show would drop into the toilet…leaving CTN with all of the spoils of victory and Sid with nothing.
It was too bad really…but that was just the way of things…it was just business…
