Candid Moment: Sidney Grey
I couldn’t be more disappointed in the outcome of my match if I tried. For me…that was my chance at making my case for being the rightful Queen of the Ring. Plan and simple…I didn’t get the win, so as far as that is concerned…it looks like Taylor is our rightful Queen and all of the goodness that comes with it is hers for the taking…
That includes the ruthless ass beating I gave her at the end of that match! Yeah, it looks like I am a sore fucking loser…and if you say that…you’re absolutely right! I am a sore fucking loser and I am also a woman who doesn’t forget it when she’s wronged! Maybe if I was in the QotR I would have come up a loser and not got any of the handouts that the winners of those matches got…but that isn’t the case. I won my match and out of all the winners of that night…I have the least to show for it!
Evie Taylor gets a shot at The Doc for her…sort-of victory and even Nyako got a chance to fight for the Marquee Title. We got new tag team champions who don’t have to defend their titles since their aren’t any teams to face! Gabby Camacho won herself a title that night…but then she became the most targeted woman in all of LAW…so yeah, that sucked for her in a way. The Doc won her match and became LAW Champion…and I guess per her contract, she never has to show up again until her next defense. That is a sweetheart of a deal for sure!
Yeah…those were your BIG winners at QotR…but oddly there seems to be a name missing from that list…hummmmm, who could it be…I wonder…
IT’S ME GODDAMN IT!! WHERE IS MY REWARD?!! WHAT DO I GET FOR MY VICTORY?!! I WANT MY 40 ACRES AND MY FUCKING MULE!! Yeah…I am the new red-headed stepchild in LAW! I went out there and put on a match for the ages…when you talk about QotR, you talk about my match because the tournament was a train wreak, just like Salinas said, the tag team match was never in doubt, the Marquee Title should have been handed to Gabby when she walked in the building, and the LAW Championship match? Well…I DVR’ed it, but I still haven’t gotten around to seeing it…because my match was the end all, be all!
Lucas Dupree needs to wake up and pull his head out of his ass! I am Sidney Grey and I draw more money than any three bitches on his roster! When do I get to see a return on all of the money I have lined his pockets with? When do I get my big push? I will answer that question right now…
NEVER!!
Yeah…I am never going to get that push because LAW has me right where they want me…cleaning up the dead weight and carrying losers and has-beens inside the ring. Yeah…I lost to Evie on the last show and while that loss really chaps my ass…the fact that I really did a number on her afterwards just goes to show you the level of frustration that I have brewing inside me.
Fast forward to this weekend and I find myself in the ring with none other than Evie Taylor again…but this time she has fat ass Gabby Camacho as her partner. Yeah…The Queen of the Ring and the Queen of shitty workout DVDs! To be perfectly honest, I am completely fine with this match…this is exactly what I need! Evie is going to be super pissed and ready to tear my head off for what I did to her…but I’m going to be super pissed that I didn’t end her career on the last show! Hooray for second chances all around!!
Of course…there is one X-factor in all of this…our former LAW Champion, Kate Steele. Yeah, she has her problems with Gabby…and that’s just fine with me. They can sort that out among themselves…because I am doing me! Now…I’ll say this, and then I’m off the subject; Kate Steele and her beef with Camacho is her business and none of mine. I am going to LAW to finish what I started so that I can finally get what’s coming to me…the respect that I deserve!
Tag team partner or no tag team partner…once this thing is done…it’s going to be done!
Domino sat on the couch of the well-adorned penthouse, which she herself had footed the bill for, staring at Sidney Grey with her dark eyes. She wasn’t happy with the way things had turned out, she had hoped that she would have been able to cut her ties with Sidney and cancel her show, but SoLo had stuck a deal that had ensured the show would go on with a ratings jump. Domino had gambled that the show would tank, but Sidney had managed to avoid every pitfall that she and Raheem had put in her path. She had won this round…her show would go on, but who knew what tomorrow held.
Domino stared at Sidney’s signature on the new contract that would give her show another year with CTN, then she looked at the reality star and gave a shake of her head. “Well…the ink is drying and it looks like you and I are tied to the hip yet again.”
Sidney snorted as she picked up a wine glass that was filled to the brim with a tart red liquid that scorched her throat as she gulped it down. Finishing half of it, she looked over at Domino with a toothy grin, “Here’s to another year of TWATS!”
Domino leaned over and took the glass from her hand and sat it on the table. “I’m worried about you losing sight of the big picture now that your show has another year of life. I am concerned that you might have taken your little tiff with Evie a bit too personally…let it cloud your judgment.” Domino gave her a stern look. “All of this talk of you being a bully has very negative connotations attached to it…and you only gave your detractors more ammunition against you after you drove her face into the mat two more times after your loss.”
“I’m a sore fucking loser, what do you want from me?” She leaned forward, reclaiming her glass. “My little…tiff as you call it, opened my eyes to a few things. That vapid little cunt is the one who is pushing me! She won the match…so she should just go somewhere and fuck off!”
Domino sighed, “YOU DROPPED HER ON HER HEAD OVER AND OVER AGAIN!”
Sidney gulped down the rest of the wine and slammed the empty glass on the table. “I DIDN’T TELL HER TO WIN THE MATCH! If I had won this would have all been over!!” Sidney stood up and walked around the room, its wedge shaped design leading to converging wall sized windows that gave a breath taking view of the city 57 floors below. She stood in front of the windows, outlined by thousands of multicolored lights. “You think I want to fight that flea bag again? You think I want her stupid QotR title? I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life…a lot of them, but they were all mine to make.” She sighed, “I don’t care what people think of me…call me a bully or call me whatever...” She turned, her eyes on Domino as she spoke, “At the end of the day…they will all have to respect me!”
Domino rolled her eyes as she leaned back on the couch and put her hands over her face. This was infuriating. “JESUS!! So what?! Are you done with the woman or not?! I mean, you have a match tomorrow and whether you like it or not, that woman is going to be going after your head. You need to find a way to make it right…or a way to end it.”
“I tried to end it after our last match…its not my fault that the bitch has a head like a cinderblock…and about just as many brains to go with it!” Sidney laughed at her little joke.
Domino smirked, “This isn’t a joke…it’s serious! We have a lot invested in you…now that your contract has been extended, I’d hate to see something happen to you that puts this new arrangement in jeopardy.”
She rolled her eyes. “Always thinking about CTN’s bottom line, huh? Don’t you worry your sweet little head, I’ll be sure to be VERY careful!” She shrugged her shoulders, “I mean…who knows…maybe I won’t even go to the show. I mean, it’s not like there is anything in it for me. I don’t have a title shot or anything on the horizon. Why should I show up at the arena to line Lucas’ pockets with gold when no one is trying to do anything for me.”
Domino nodded her head. “I couldn’t agree with you more! No need to risk and injury or something even worse.” She smiled, “For once…you and I are seeing eye to eye!”
Sidney refilled her glass. “I mean…I’d really like to get my hands on Gabby Camacho…especially after she robbed me of my chance to get rid of Nyako’s loony tunes sister, but these days…that girl has a bulls eye on her fat ass behind that so many people are taking aim at that it would be silly for me to pile on as well. If Kate Steele wants to deal with her…I say good riddance!”
“So…you are going to skip the show then?” Domino asked.
Sidney sipped at the wine she had just poured, then answer. “HELL NO! I am going to go there and if I see Evie back stage…I am going to punch her right in the fucking face!” She paused, “I’m just not wrestling is all.”
All Domino could do was to stare at her and shake her head. She was determined to do this and she knew that no amount of logic was going to make a damn bit of difference. Still…Sidney Grey was an investment and she needed to hedge her bets to protect that investment. If she couldn’t talk Sidney out of going, she’d have to make sure that things didn’t go too far south…one way or the other. “Fine! I see that you have your mind made up and there is no changing it. Go ahead and go to the arena…but for God’s sake don’t puke on anyone!”
Domino got up, grabbing her coat as she checked her watch. Time was suddenly against her now that LAW 15 was only hours away and Sid was not going to be swayed from sticking her neck out. “I have to get back to the office…things to do!”
Sidney frowned, “It’s Saturday night! I thought we’d go out…” Sidney wiggled her behind. “I figured we’d go out and rip this city a new asshole!”
Domino smiled, “Maybe next time…but right now, duty calls.” She headed to the door, her ridiculously high heels clicking against the titled floor. “Good luck Sid…I’ll see you next week.”
As the door closed, Sidney finished her drink, staring at the door. After a moment, she stood up and threw the glass across the room, watching as it shattered against the door. There really wasn’t anything in this match for her…no reason to show up and be a part of it. Was she going to show up to further Kate’s cause? She didn’t want to see Gabby with the Marquee Title…but it didn’t matter who beat her for it in the end.
As for facing Evie again? A win would go a long way to erasing some of the sting she felt from the last loss…but what would it really gain her? Putting Evie on the shelf on the other hand…that would be a much better use of her time…assuming she even bothered to do that either. Her life would be just fine without worrying about Evie and Gabby. If Kate was so fired up to be a champion…she could show it by beating both women on her own.
Sidney grabbed her jacket and her keys and put any thoughts of going to LAW out of her mind. She had a show that needed her attention a whole hell of a lot more than LAW!
…to be continued by Kate Steele…
