Following the events of LAW #17 and “The Scorpion and the Frog” (click to read)
Uzai had to admit it…he was really beginning to like Nyako. The two of them had started out as bitter rivals for Oni’s affection. She had wanted nothing more than for her sister to become a goody-two-shoes, like she was. Uzai had wanted the Oni he had fallen in love with when he first laid eyes on her…the blood splattered Yakuza princess who cared for no one and left chaos and broken bodies in her wake. Tonight…Nyako had laid waste to Gabby Camacho, a woman she had repeatedly called friend up until this point. As he stood at ringside, he couldn’t help but to smile…Nyako was becoming everything that Oni had once been. Maybe…just maybe…Oni would see everything that she had lost…in her sister…a possible adversary turned ally?
He wasn’t quite ready to call Nyako an ally…not quite yet. However, she was no longer the threat he had initially perceived. One less threat to his goal…but one still remained…
SoLo was a threat to any chance he had of getting his Mistress back. The girl had come in and turned things upside down as she tried to push Oni to become something she wasn’t. She needed to be stopped…no matter what it took.
Following the tag team match between USA and Gabby Camacho and Evie Taylor Uzai was ready to celebrate…but when he saw SoLo milling around backstage, he couldn’t help but to follow her. As he watched her, he could feel himself growing more angry with the girl for her interference. When she headed for the back entrance, thoughts of sneaking up behind her and knocking her senseless ran through his head. Maybe she would think twice about staying around Oni and the wrestling business…or maybe something so bad that she just…disappeared.
Uzai built up his courage…with aggression on his mind, until he saw the pair of hillbilly thugs stalking SoLo. He watched in the shadows as the two men drug her away…hopefully to put an end to her…and with it all of his problems. They threw her down, tearing at her clothes…looking to satisfy their more base instincts before they finally rid Uzai of her existence. Of course, if they didn’t follow through…that’s not to say that he couldn’t take care of whatever they left behind.
As he rubbed his hands together hoping that his problem would be taken care of, he was shocked by the timely arrival of Serizawa. The girl, who had so much reminded him of Oni, rushed in and started to take down the thugs in spectacular fashion. Had he not been so taken with her, he might have cried out in frustration. He watched as she took out the men with ruthless efficiency…destroying his hope of getting SoLo out of his hair…but then…he noticed something curious…
Serizawa spat a plume of green colored mist from her mouth into the face of one of the men. He clutched at his eyes and let out a scream before Serizawa stepped around him, quickly slipping a small envelope into the pocket of his pants as she stood facing his rear and kicked his back, knocking him to the ground next to his partner in crime. The two thugs got to their feet slowly and made the smart decision to retreat.
Uzai blinked as he tried to process what he had just seen. It could have been anything…but he knew a pay off when he saw one. Has Serizawa just set this entire thing up? For what reason? As the questions swirled, he continued to watch as events unfolded.
Serizawa took SoLo to safety and then eventually the two of them joined Oni and Nyako. As he watched, the group apparently invited Serizawa with them as they hastily left the arena together.
Uzai stroked his chin as he stood in the shadows of the parking lot considering what he had just seen. A long slow smile crept across his face as he realized the true value of what he knew. SoLo was had not been eliminated from the equation, as he had hoped…but perhaps there was still something to be salvaged from all of this…and he would find a way to take full advantage.
He would find a way to get his Mistress back…and now that path seemed clearer than ever.
