SoLo felt unnerved as she went through the police security checks. It invoked memories of the time she was held and questioned over what she had done to Kreese. That was part of the reason that she was now here. Uzai had taken the blame for her actions, after initially telling the police that she had done it. She wasn’t sure why he had reversed his course, but it had bothered her for weeks.
She was escorted to the phone room, where she was sat down to wait for Uzai. She didn’t have to wait long as he was brought in and sat down on the other side of the security glass. SoLo picked up the phone and waited for him to do the same, but he just sat there, staring at her.
SoLo pointed to his phone, and after an overly long and dramatic pause, he picked up the phone, but said nothing. SoLo frowned, unsure of how to start. “Uzai…how are you doing?”
…
After he didn’t respond, she smirked. “Why did you agree to see me if you weren’t going to talk?”
…
She sighed, “Fine…I’ll talk. I know that you have no reason being in here. None of us had to be here…so long as we all said nothing…we would have been home free.” She looked down, “It was all my fault…I don’t think I can live with myself…knowing that you are in here when it should be m…”
He held up his hand, stopping her from saying that she was the guilty one. SoLo didn’t know if they listened to the calls or not, but she understood his hesitation. Though he had stopped her from incriminating herself, he remained irritatingly silent.
SoLo sighed, “Look, I know that you don’t like me…you never did, but I wanted you to know that I never had any animosity on my part toward you. I considered you to be family…just like Nyako, Oni, and Serizawa…”
This seemed to get his attention as he gripped the phone tighter and leaned in closer to the glass. Finally he was going to respond…
